Method and device for producing glass films using the blow molding process. One can produce glass films, for example for electrical insulation purposes, by blowing off glass balloons. The balloons must be as thin as possible. Foils, for example with a thickness of less than 5, should be inflated as far as possible. However, there is a risk that the balloons will burst. This is undesirable because it tears the foils.
The invention has the task of allowing the balloons to be inflated as far as possible without the risk of bursting. It is based on the knowledge that when the balloon is completely inflated, the gas pressure in the balloon rises shortly before it bursts.
According to the invention, the rise in pressure of the blown gas that occurs at the end of the blowing process automatically prevents a further supply of gas after the blown balloon. The device according to the invention for carrying out this method consists in the fact that means are present. are to limit the gas supply to the balloon to be inflated depending on the pressure prevailing in this prevailing pressure, and those that let those agents become effective only some time after the start of the blowing process.
Since the gas pressure required to inflate the balloon is usually much higher at the beginning of the blowing process than in the rest of the area of the blowing process, it is advisable to provide a time control device that is effective at the beginning of the blowing process and the means to limit the gas supply after a in a predetermined period of time.
The means for limiting the gas supply can be designed, for example, as a shut-off valve under the action of a contact manometer and having an electromagnetic coil, which is in the gas supply

<tb> The <SEP> invention <SEP> should <SEP> on <SEP> hand <SEP> the <SEP> in <SEP> the
<tb> Drawing <SEP> shown <SEP> examples <SEP> are explained in more detail <SEP> <SEP>.
<tb> In <SEP> Fig. <SEP> 1 <SEP>, <SEP> are connected to <SEP> of the <SEP> gas line <SEP> between <SEP> the <SEP> compressed gas source <SEP> 1 <SEP> and <SEP> the <SEP> balloon to be inflated <SEP> 2 <SEP> a <SEP> tap <SEP> 3, <SEP> a <SEP> valve <SEP> 4 <SEP> and <SEP> a <SEP> contact manometer <SEP> 5. <SEP> With <SEP>:
the
<tb> contacts <SEP> 50 <SEP> of the <SEP> manometer <SEP> is <SEP> a <SEP> relay
<tb> 40 <SEP> for <SEP> the <SEP> actuation <SEP> of the <SEP> valve <SEP> 4 <SEP> and <SEP> on
<tb> <SEP> a <SEP> timing relay <SEP> 6 <SEP> activated <SEP> switch <SEP> 60
<tb> switched in <SEP> series <SEP>. <SEP> A <SEP> spring <SEP> 4.1 <SEP> is pushing
<tb> the <SEP> valve <SEP> 4 <SEP> in <SEP>: the <SEP> open position. <SEP> With <SEP> the
<tb> Motor <SEP> of the <SEP> timing relay <SEP> 6 <SEP> is <SEP> on <SEP> switch <SEP> 30
<tb> in <SEP> row, <SEP> the <SEP> through <SEP> a <SEP> with. <SEP> the <SEP> tap <SEP> 3
<tb> connected <SEP> arm <SEP> 31 <SEP> is controlled <SEP>.
<tb> The <SEP> device <SEP> works <SEP> as follows:
<tb> After <SEP> the <SEP> plugging <SEP> a <SEP> into the <SEP> free
<tb> En-Je <SEP> approved <SEP> and <SEP> heated <SEP> glass tube <SEP> or <SEP> a <SEP> in <SEP> a <SEP> glass melt <SEP> immersed <SEP > Whistle <SEP> becomes <SEP> rler <SEP> tap <SEP> 3 <SEP> from <SEP> the
<tb> <SEP> not shown <SEP> locked position <SEP> in <SEP> the <SEP> marked <SEP> open position <SEP> brought. <SEP> Thereby
<tb> if <SEP> gas <SEP> enters <SEP> the <SEP> pipe <SEP> or <SEP> the <SEP> whistle <SEP> and <SEP> starts <SEP> the <SEP> glass < SEP> to <SEP> a <SEP> balloon <SEP> 2 <SEP> to inflate.
<tb> At the same time <SEP> is <SEP> using <SEP> of the <SEP> arm <SEP> 31 <SEP> and
<tb> of the <SEP> switch.
<SEP> 30 <SEP> the <SEP> timing relay <SEP> 6 <SEP> switched on "da.s <SEP> after <SEP> some <SEP> time <SEP> the <SEP> before <SEP> open
<tb> Switch <SEP> 60 <SEP> closes. <SEP> The <SEP> timing relay <SEP> 6 <SEP> is <SEP> like this
<tb> set, <SEP>. that <SEP> the <SEP> switch <SEP> 60 <SEP> first <SEP> then <SEP> is closed <SEP>, <SEP> when <SEP> the <SEP > <SEP> higher <SEP> pressure <SEP> has subsided <SEP> at <SEP> start <SEP> of the <SEP> blowing process <SEP>. <SEP> A <SEP> any <SEP> response <SEP> of the
<tb> Manometers <SEP> 5 <SEP> on <SEP> this <SEP> higher <SEP> pressure
<tb> <SEP> remains ineffective, <SEP> because <SEP> iii <SEP> this <SEP> time <SEP> the <SEP> valve relay <SEP> 40 <SEP> because of <SEP> C) opening <SEP > of the <SEP> switch <SEP> 60
<tb> is ineffective <SEP>.
<SEP> Then <SEP> <SEP> the <SEP> Bal-Ion 2 is fully inflated. When the pressure rises at the end of the blowing process, the manometer 5 closes the switch 50 and thereby switches on the relay 40 which, overcoming the spring 41, closes the valve 4 and thereby blocks any further gas supply to the balloon 2. The cock 3 is then closed. The switch 30 now in the open position switches off the timing relay 6, which returns to the starting position when the switch 60 is opened.
The pressure gauge 5 and the valve 4 also return to their original position. The balloon 2 can be removed ent and the device prepared for a new blowing process.
A similar arrangement is shown in FIG. Here, a safety valve 7 is turned on in the connection line between the pressurized gas source 1 and the balloon 2 except for the cock 3, which releases the exhaust opening 70 when a certain adjustable pressure limit is exceeded. The safety valve is blocked by a cam disk 61 driven by a time relay 6 during the increased initial pressure.
If the pressure rises at the end of the blowing process, there is. the safety valve 7, which has meanwhile been unlocked, clears and prevents the outlet opening 70. - This causes the balloon 2 to burst. Otherwise, the mode of operation is the same as in FIG. 1.
The invention offers the advantage that the glass balloons can be inflated so far without risk of pitting that a sufficiently thin glass film is obtained, especially if, as in an earlier proposal, one works in a heated room and possibly with heated gas.
