-Mit<B><I>A</I></B><I>, B, C, D</I> sind verschiedene Stellungen der Kolben stirnfläche. bezeichnet, deren Rand als Steuerkaute 16 dient.
Injection pump, especially for internal combustion engines. The invention relates to an injection pump, in particular for internal combustion engines, the piston of which is controlled by a cam track during the pressure stroke and in which a fuel supply opening is closed after the start of the pressure stroke, whereupon the actual conveyance begins.
The known injection pumps of this type promote an increasing amount per pressure stroke with the same setting of the flow rate control member with increasing speed. The reason for this is first of all that, as with every piston pump, the L:
Loss of leaks with increasing piston speed are generally lower, and furthermore - and to a much greater extent - in the fact that the pressure in the pump chamber and thus the start of delivery at low speed at the moment of complete; At the end of the mostly relatively narrow fuel supply opening, the pressure increase takes place at an earlier piston position at high speed.
This delivery rate per piston stroke, which increases with speed, is often undesirable and disadvantageous, especially if the engine for which the injection pump is intended burns smoke-free with increasing speed only a less increasing, constant or even decreasing maximum amount of fuel per working stroke can. The task now is to find means which lead to the pressure rise in the pump chamber as a whole, with a very large speed range always taking place with the same piston position, if possible.
For this purpose, according to the invention, the cam track has such a shape that the piston speed in that pressure stroke section in which the fuel supply opening is closed is many times less than the piston speed in that pressure stroke section in which the delivery takes place . This is intended to achieve a considerable improvement.
The fuel supply opening is advantageously designed as an annular groove in the cylinder wall and is controlled by the piston. In the case of injection pumps in which a fuel outlet opening is opened for the purpose of ending the delivery, this opening can be designed in such a way that its control edge runs parallel to the control edge on the movable control element.
The aim of this is to further improve the injection rate, in that the pressure drop in the pump chamber necessary to terminate the injection process and thus the end of delivery at low speed coincides with an earlier piston position after the start of the opening of the fuel outlet opening than at high speed and this difference becomes all the smaller , the faster the returning fuel is presented with a relatively large outflow cross-section.
In the drawing, an execution example of the. Subject invention is provided.
F'ig. 1 shows the injection pump in cross section and FIG. 2, the cam track of the injection pump according to FIG. 1 on a larger scale. Figure 3 is a graph of piston travel and piston speed as a function of the angle of rotation of the cam. FIG. 4 shows a development of the piston and FIG. 5 shows a development of the cylinder, in both cases only the part causing the length control being shown.
In the housing 1 of an injection pump, a piston 2 is housed, which is driven via a roller tappet 3 by a cam 4 is. The fuel supply opening in the cylinder wall of the housing is an annular groove 5 which is connected by a bore 6 to the fuel chamber 7, to which the fuel line, not shown, is connected.
A groove 8 provided in the cylinder wall serves as the fuel outlet opening, which together with its control edge runs along a helical line and through a borehole 9 with. is connected to room 10. The space 10 is connected to the space 7 in a manner not shown.
The piston ? also has a helical line with the same slope as the control edge 11, with means -which in a known way -by turning the piston can arbitrarily change the delivery rate of the injection pump, the control edge delimits a recess 1? of the piston, which is connected to the pump chamber 15 through bores 1 3 and 11. -With <B> <I> A </I> </B> <I>, B, C, D </I> there are different positions of the piston face. referred to, the edge of which serves as a tax chew 16.
The control edge assumes these positions when the roller plunger is at the corresponding designated points of the cam track in FIG. 2. In Fig. 1 A and D denote the lowest respectively. top position of the control edge during operation.
B denotes the position of the control edge in which it coincides with the upper edge of the ring groove 5, i.e. the position in which the piston has just completely closed the ring groove during its pressure stroke, and C the position up to which the piston stroke for injection is at most used.
In Fig. F) the rotation angle of the cam are plotted on the abscissa. The distance from A to B and from B to C corresponds to the angles through which the cam rotates so that the plunger roller on the cam track from A to B respectively. runs from B to C. etc.
The line <B> S </B> represents the piston travel and the line T 'represents the piston speed as a function of the angle of rotation of the cam, from which it can be seen that the piston speed during the closing of the ring groove is 5 Is many times smaller than during the delivery of fuel.
The cam track itself is from A to ss as an eccentric with the radius. a '-, e out forms, the mass e is arranged eccentrically to the base circle with the radius a. From: P to C the cam track has a hollow shape in order to achieve a rapid injection and thus a short injection time that meets the requirements of 1VTo + nrs. At point D, the cam track goes into a circle concentric to the base circle and from there back to the eccentric via an arc and a tangent.
When a pressure valve with a relief piston is used, the start of delivery of the pump shifts towards point C. When using such a known relief valve, the pressure increase required to initiate the injection process also takes place over a greater angle of rotation e-1 of the cam than with a conventional pressure valve.
A further improvement is achieved in special cases in that the cam track just before point B - indicated by dashed lines in FIG. 2 from X to Y - runs concentrically to the base circle. This ensures that the pressure in the pump chamber, which may have increased while the plunger was moving from A to X on the cam track, can fall back to its initial value and only slowly increase away from Y.
In the example shown, the running cam path differs from the running cam path. llan can also form the running path symmetrically to the running path, so that @ the cam offers the advantages mentioned for both directions of rotation.
