Cooling system with a cold room to hold perishable goods. In order to preserve perishable goods and keep them fresh, especially food, they are stored in refrigerators or refrigerators, the temperature of which is about 0 C for longer storage periods and about + 4 to 6 C for shorter storage periods. It has also been proposed to irradiate the goods to be stored with ultraviolet light, wel Ches exerts a deadly or growth-inhibiting effect on bacteria and fungi, in that the rays are absorbed by the pulp structure.
In the previous cooling systems of this type, however, no attention was paid to the arrangement of the irradiating device, son countries limited to aiming for a direct effect on the goods to be treated by ultraviolet light sources. A significant use of the effect of ultraviolet light can not be achieved, even if you net anord in an uneconomical manner a large number of light sources in the refrigerator.
The invention relates to a cooling system with a cold room for receiving perishable goods and with irradiation device for ultraviolet light. It consists in that the irradiation device is arranged at such a point in the cooling air flow that the entire amount of air circulating in the cooling space must wash around the irradiation device. This achieves full utilization of the ultra violet rays, which have a direct effect on the bacteria and fungal germs contained in the cooling air.
As is known, the cooling air is circulated in the cooling space and describes one or more circulation paths depending on the type of arrangement of the cooler in the cooling space. It does not matter whether the air is circulated naturally or artificially.
If the cooling air is circulated by means of a fan, the intended effect can best be achieved by arranging the irradiation device, which can also be present in plurality, in the immediate vicinity of the fan housing. For example, the radiation device can be arranged in the form of an annular tube around the fan housing.
But one can also arrange two or more straight tubes running along the blower housing around the same, so that it is at least partially surrounded by the irradiation device.
Often, fresh air is also added to the air circulated in the cold room, and it is useful to arrange the arrangement so that the fresh air is also sterilized. For this purpose, the hairdressing air duct or ducts are advantageously allowed to open into the cooling air circuit in such a way that the fresh air is also subject to the direct action of the irradiation device.
You can provide a shield in the form of a cover, for example made of quartz glass, over the radiation body of the irradiation device, which is permeable to the ultraviolet rays and prevents the radiation body from being hit directly by the air flow and cooled by it.
In order to utilize the ultraviolet light to a large extent, it is also advisable to arrange reflective surfaces on the radiation units themselves or at other points in the cooling space.
In addition to the effective sterilization of the stored goods and the cooling air, another advantage can be achieved with the cooling system according to the invention. If the refrigerator compartment is kept at a temperature of 0 or between a temperature of -I- 4 and + 6, the surface temperature of the cooler is always below 0 C.
The moisture in the cooling air is then deposited on the cooling surfaces in the form of frost, which in many cases leads to an undesirable drying out of the cooling air and also to the fact that the heat transfer from the cooling air to the cooler is impaired.
As a result of the extensive utilization of the effect of the ultraviolet light in the cooling system according to the invention, it is possible to keep the radiation so strong that the temperature in the cold room can be increased without impairing the shelf life; since it is also possible to keep the surface temperature of the cooler above 0 zii.
Then there is no frosting of the cooler surfaces, so that better utilization of the cooler can be achieved.
In the accompanying drawing, FIGS. 1 to 5 show various exemplary embodiments of the invention. @ Rides represents.
In Fig. 1 ciir refrigerator is illustrated light as it is in use in many different forms and sizes in commercial establishments and households. The cooler a is eccentric inside the refrigerator and covered by a wall c.
The cold air falls down from the cooler, heats up on the goods to be chilled and the walls of the cold room and rises in a natural circulating motion to the top, in order to then be removed from your cooler again. The arrows shown indicate the type of air circulation.
In the cooling air circuit, directly in front of the cooler a, an irradiation device b for ultraviolet light is arranged on the ceiling of the cooling room, so that the entire amount of air circulating in the cooling room has to flush the irradiation device immediately before entering the cooler a .
This arrangement of the irradiation device h also has the advantage that the items to be cooled are themselves exposed to irradiation, and the growth of bacteria and molds on the refrigerator is thereby effectively prevented.
In the embodiment according to FIG. 2, too, an eccentric mounting of the cooler a is provided in the cooling space which is larger in this case. In order to ensure the naturally occurring movement of the air, illustrated by the arrows shown, a cover wall c is seen in front of the cooler and below the same a drip channel d.
The irradiation device b is provided directly on the outlet channel e, so that the entire amount of air circulating in the cooling chamber, which is frozen at the cooler a, must wash around the irradiation device b. Of course, it would also be possible, please include to arrange the irradiation device b on the air duct f to the cooler or to provide tubes emitting ultraviolet light on both the outlet and the inlet air duct of the cooler.
In the cold room according to FIG. 3, a so-called ceiling evaporator a is provided as the cooler. The air, which is also circulated naturally here, describes, as indicated by the arrows drawn, two tracks with opposite directions. As a result, irradiation devices b are arranged on the two air ducts f to the cooler, so that the entire amount of air circulating in the cooling space must wash around the irradiation devices. A radiation body could also be provided on the exhaust air duct e from the cooler.
Fig. 4 illustrates a larger cooling space in which, similar to the embodiment of FIG. 2, the cooler a is arranged eccentrically in the vicinity of a wall surface of the cooling space and is seen ver with a cover wall c and a drip channel d. In order to be able to circulate the cooling air to a sufficient extent within the cooling space, a fan g is provided just below the ceiling of the cooling space. The irradiation device b is designed as an annular tube and directly encloses the housing of the fan g.
As can be seen from FIG. 4, the entire cooling air sucked in by the fan g and pushed into the supply air duct to the cooler a is forced to wash around the irradiation device b . In this embodiment, fresh air supply is also provided. The fresh air flows in through channel h, which opens into the cooling air circuit in such a way that the fresh air is also sterilized by the direct action of ultraviolet light.
The cooling space of FIG. 5, the outside of the cooling space cooled cooling air is supplied through the supply air channel i and withdrawn through the exhaust air channel k. An irradiation device b is arranged immediately in front of the outlet opening e ', which irradiates all of the escaping cooling air. A radiation body could also be arranged at the inlet opening f '.
The arrangement of the irradiation devices b in the various illustrated embodiments is selected such that not only is the cooling air affected directly, but the goods to be cooled are also exposed to the direct effect of the ultraviolet light. In order to increase this last-mentioned effect, in the exemplary embodiments ge according to FIGS. 2, 4 and 5 additional Strah treatment body m housed at various points in the refrigerator.
The exemplary embodiments according to FIGS. 3 to 5 also show that, in order to fully utilize the ultraviolet rays at various points in the cooling space, respectively. reflection surfaces n are provided in the irradiation devices.
