Description
Verfahren zur Herstellung von rostverhütenden Anstriehmitteln. Es wurde gefunden, dass man aus Schiefer- mehl unter Verwendung üblicher, beispiels weise öliger Bindemittel sehr gute rostver hütende und korrosionsbeständige Anstrich mittel gewinnen kann, wenn man ihm ge ringe Mengen von Substanzen zumischt, die infolge ihres Vermögens, das Licht stark zu reflektieren, die optisch ungünstigen Eigen schaften des Schiefermehls zu ergänzen im stande sind und gleichzeitig seine mechani schen Eigenschaften, insbesondere die Ad häsion im Verein mit dem Bindemittel ver bessern.
Als Bindemittel können solche in Be tracht kommen, die entweder als trocknende Öle infolge der Aufnahme von Sauerstoff aus der Luft (Leinöl) oder infolge von Poly- merisation (chinesisches Holzöl) trocknen, oder die als Lösungen von Harzen oder bitu minösen Stoffen in flüchtigen Lösungsmit teln durch Verdunstung der letzteren trock nen.
Es hat sich gezeigt, dass Aluminium staub beide physikalischen Eigenschaften in hohem Masse besitzt, so dass ein inniges Ge misch aus Schiefermehl und 3 bis<B>10%</B> Alu- miniumstaub, mit einem Bindemittel ange rieben, gut deckende und gut verstreichbare Anstrichmittel ergibt, die in anstrichtechni- scher Beziehung, und zwar vorzugsweise für wetterfeste Aussenanstriche, denjenigen nicht nachstehen, die aus Gemischen von Bleiweiss, Zinkweiss, Schwefelzinkweiss,
Titanweiss etc. und schlecht deckenden Verschnittmitteln hergestellt werden.
Die Prozentangabe bezieht sich auf die Gesamtmenge der Mischung mit Schiefer mehl, das heisst auf die trockene Pigment menge. Bezüglich der Menge des Aluminium staubes spielen unter anderem die Eigen schaften des Schiefermehls sowie der Ver- wendungszwe.ek des Anstrichmittels eine Rolle; in vielen Fällen kommt man bereits mit<B>3%,</B> bezogen auf die Gesamtmenge der Mischung mit Schiefermehl, aus.

Suitable binders are those that either dry as drying oils as a result of the absorption of oxygen from the air (linseed oil) or as a result of polymerization (Chinese wood oil), or as solutions of resins or bituminous substances in volatile solvents dry by evaporation of the latter.
It has been shown that aluminum dust has both physical properties to a high degree, so that an intimate mixture of slate flour and 3 to 10% aluminum dust, rubbed with a binding agent, provides good coverage and good coverage paints that can be applied to paint, which are not inferior to those made from mixtures of white lead, zinc white, zinc sulfur, and preferably for weatherproof exterior paints,
Titanium white etc. and poorly covering blending agents are produced.
The percentage refers to the total amount of the mixture with slate flour, i.e. the amount of dry pigment. With regard to the amount of aluminum dust, the properties of the slate flour and the intended use of the paint play a role, among other things; In many cases <B> 3% </B> based on the total amount of the mixture with slate flour is sufficient.
