Solid fuel gas generators. The present invention relates to a gas generator for solid fuels, in particular for fuels that do not require a smoldering process, for example charcoal, peat coal, anthracite, coke, etc. The known gas generators of this type have the disadvantage that the burn-up is on the core concentrated in the glow chamber, which results in such high temperatures that the nozzles are subject to severe burn-off.
The present invention aims to eliminate this disadvantage in that only one nozzle, which is intended to ignite the fuel and to generate a minimal amount of gas, protrudes into the glow chamber and is directly connected to the outside air, that at a distance Further nozzles are arranged above this nozzle, which do not protrude into this via the inner wall of the annealing chamber and are fed with preheated air, and that the gases are also drawn off not only to the side but also downwards through the grate ,
so that the preheated air entering through the upper nozzles mainly sweeps through the periphery of the glow chamber approximately vertically. This nozzle arrangement is intended to prevent excessive heat from being generated in the core of the glow chamber, which prevents excessive burn-off of the nozzles. In order to guide the air, which penetrates through the upper nozzles, downwards, the gas generated is sucked off through a vent under the oven grate, in addition to a lateral gas vent.
In the accompanying drawing, an example embodiment of the subject invention is shown, namely Fig. 1 shows a gas generator in longitudinal section, Fig. 2 shows the same in cross section along line 1-I in Fig. 1.
The filling chute 1 is provided with the cover 2. The glow space 3 is formed by the refractory jacket 4, which is surrounded by the steel jacket 5. The jacket and another jacket 6 enclose the air space 7, which is connected to the outside air through an air inlet flap 8. A shaking grate 9 and the ash box 10 close the gas generator from below. The primary nozzle 11 with exchangeable mouthpiece 11a. is in direct contact with the outside air. It protrudes beyond the inner wall of the "jacket 4" into the glow space.
This nozzle is used to ignite the fuel and to generate a minimum gas quality, which is sufficient, for example, for an engine to idle.
Opposite the primary nozzle 11 there are gas discharge channels 12 which open into the collecting space 13. "Furthermore, gas penetrating the grate passes through the holes 14 into the collecting space 13. The gas is sucked out of the collecting space after the filter and from there to the combustion point through the suction pipe 15. At a distance above the nozzle 11 are several nozzles 16 arranged, which do not extend over the inner wall of the refractory jacket 4 into the glow space.
The air preheated in the air space 7 flows through the nozzles 16 into the glow space. Since the extraction of the gases is also possible through the grate 9, the air which passes through the nozzles 16 into the glow chamber 3 is drawn mainly in the vertical direction through the latter. As a result, the glow point is also expanded to the periphery of the glow space. The result is a more extensive, but less intensive glow point, which means that the items to be fired burn off significantly more slowly and with less heat. The gas escapes from the gas generator at a lower temperature.
As a result of the larger glow point with lower intensity, all parts of the glow space are sealed against rapid burn-up and, in particular, the primary nozzle 11 is subject to much smaller wear.
