B. Wasserpumpen, Schmierölpumpen, Zubringerpumpen etc. an Hauptmaschinen, z.
Fig. 1 zeigt ein Anwendungsbeispiel.
Device for driving auxiliary machines. The present invention relates to an apparatus for driving auxiliary machines at a higher speed than that of the main machine.
It has hitherto been fairly common to use auxiliary machines such as B. water pumps, lubricating oil pumps, feed pumps etc. on main machines, e.g. B. internal combustion engines, with the help of gear drives, chains, etc. to drive directly from the shaft of the main engine. This design is given as long as the gear ratio to be used remains within smaller limits. If, however, auxiliary machines are used that have to run at a higher speed, as is the case, for example, with centrifugal pumps or centrifugal blowers, the direct drive offers some difficulties.
With high gear ratios you can no longer get by with one gear stage; you have to switch two or even three of them in a row. In addition, despite the relatively small size of the rotating parts of the auxiliary machine at high speeds of the same, the moment of inertia acting back on the main shaft becomes large. If the main engine is a piston engine, the gearing is stressed by the constantly pulsating force of the tangential pressure, in addition to the normal torque, with additional impacts of sometimes considerable magnitude.
This to stand leads to the requirement to turn on ela tical members in such a high-speed increase transmission, which in turn is a major complication.
The subject matter of the invention now overcomes these difficulties in that the transmission of the drive torque for the auxiliary machine takes place electrically by coupling the main machine to an electric generator which supplies a drive motor to the auxiliary machine with power. As a result, the shocks that may occur on the shaft of the main engine are significantly attenuated and it is also possible, by choosing an alternating current with a correspondingly high frequency, to increase the speed of the motor many times over compared to the speed of the generator in a purely electrical manner .
Fig. 1 shows an application example. 1 is an internal combustion engine, 2 is its flywheel. 3 is a set of auxiliary machines, such as a centrifugal pump or a centrifugal fan, to which the medium to be conveyed is fed through the line. 4 is the pressure port of the centrifugal machine 3. The end of the not shown crankshaft of the internal combustion engine 1 drives the rotor of an asynchronous generator 7.
This generator supplies the asynchronous motor 6, which is directly flanged to the auxiliary machine 3, with electricity via the line 8.
In FIG. 2 a somewhat modified form of the example according to FIG. 1 is shown. 1 in turn denotes an internal combustion engine, 2 its flywheel and 3 the auxiliary machine, e.g. B. a centrifugal pump or high speed fan with the suction respectively. Pressure connection 5 respectively. 4. The direct current generator 7 is driven via a transmission with the wheels 9 and 10 from the crankshaft of the internal combustion engine 1, where it is stuck at wheel 9 on the crankshaft.
The generator supplies the DC motor 6 via line 8, in which the regulating resistor 13 is switched on, current. The motor 6 in turn drives the auxiliary machine set 3 via a speed-increasing gear by means of the wheels 11 and 12.
Both direct current and single or multi-phase alternating current can be used as the transmission medium. It is also possible to regulate the speed of the motor independently of the speed of the generator manually or automatically. The drive of the generator respectively. the auxiliary machine can be carried out with or without a transmission gear. The generator can be excited by a built-in exciter or by means of an external current. The electric motor 6 is advantageously flanged to the auxiliary machine set 3 as a flange motor.
