Arrangement for transmitting messages. It is known to simultaneously carry out communications with low and high frequency alternating currents on one and the same line (cable line).
It is also known to use this method when connecting subscriber stations to the said line and to carry out the two-way communication of a telephone station in such a way that
that the traffic going from an exchange to the subscriber station is low-frequency and the traffic carried out from the subscriber station to the exchange is high-frequency.
In contrast to this, the present invention proposes providing means by which it is possible to carry out the traffic leaving a subscriber station on a low-frequency route and the traffic arriving in it on a high-frequency route.
The advantages that can be achieved through such an operation are explained with reference to FIGS. Fig. Ja shows a known arrangement. while Fig.lb shows an example embodiment of the inventive arrangement. In both arrangements a subscriber cable T is seen before,
which is used to feed a telephone station with a microphone 1l and a telephone F. A low-pass filter TP and a high-pass filter HP are provided both on the office side and on the subscriber side in order to separate the currents of different frequencies flowing on the subscriber line from one another.
According to FIG. Yes, a carrier frequency generator G is arranged in the exchange, which feeds the microphone 3I provided in the subscriber station. The carrier frequency is assumed to be 10 kHz and the carrier frequency attenuation is 2.5 times as high as for the low frequency from the intercom, which has an average value of 800 Hz.
In order to achieve 50% modulation on the microphone, assuming a low frequency level of 0 Veper and a level of both sidebands of also 0 Neper at the microphone, a carrier level of + 0.7 Neper is required, according to the connection:

In the arrangement shown in Fig. 1b, the call to be fed to the subscriber station is fed to a modulator 31o and demodulated in a demodulator D at the receiving end. This results in the following level and power ratios:
The low frequency level expected from a long-distance line - 2.5 is brought to -1.3 by a gain of 1.2 neper. In order to carry out a 50% modulation in the modulator 31o, the low frequency is combined with a carrier frequency of such a level that a carrier level - 0.6 N 'per unit reaches the line via the high pass.
On this, the carrier is attenuated by 2 Neper and appears in the input .des demodulator in the receiving station with the level - 2.6, so <leave after demodulation, - as necessary, a low frequency level -3.3 is available.
The opposite direction, from the microphone of the intercom to the office, is carried out with low frequency, so that at the intercom a low frequency level = 0 Nepür, in the office a low frequency level = -0.8 Neper is available.
When dimensioning the filters, it should be noted that the level difference between the carrier frequency and the low frequency on the exchange side is only 0. \ d Neper. on the participant's side 2.6 Neper. The carrier frequency level corresponds to a carrier voltage of 0-3 volts or a power of 0.3 mZUr at 600011m.
The above considerations show that the arrangement according to FIG. 1b has the following advantages over the known arrangement according to FIG. possesses: The 1111 ratio 661? : 1.
The filter on all of the exchange side is considerably larger in the first arrangement than in the second arrangement - regardless of the selection of the carrier frequency.
because in the first arrangement the separation efficiency of the filters must be much greater. (In the example: 5 Neper larger than the second arrangement.) Also on the side of the intercom station, the first arrangement requires additional filters.
(In the example chosen: an additional blocking attenuation of 1, .1 \ Teper.) Regardless of the assumed clock values, the following can be determined when comparing the two arrangements: In conventional telephone systems, the microphone is usually supplied with power from the office battery:
the direct current is also used to control the exchange facilities (e.g. impulses). For this purpose, the filter upstream of the microphone must be DC permeable. With the low-pass filter, as is used in the arrangement according to FIG. 1b. With a common filter design (coil line), direct current permeability is readily assured.
In the arrangement according to FIG. 1 a, however, the high-pass filter in the subscriber station must be equally current-permeable, which means additional effort when dimensioning the filter.
In the embodiment according to FIG. 1b, it is possible to leave the high-frequency generator in the offices as before, so that operation and maintenance can be carried out by trained personnel.
In the following, some exemplary embodiments of the subject matter of the invention are described in more detail with reference to FIGS. 2 to 6.
Microphone and telephone, which are usually combined into a handset, are shown in FIG. to 4, representing the circuits of subscriber stations. drawn separately for the sake of clarity. The two speech wires are marked with a. b .
In the arrangement according to Fig. the microphone 31 lies between the wires a, b, but the high-frequency chokes are connected upstream, but they are not absolutely necessary.
The telephone T is on the one hand directly, or possibly with the interposition of high-frequency chokes H, connected to the wires a, b, and on the other hand to the output terminals of a rectifier G. This rectifier, which can be a dry rectifier, is connected to wires a, b via capacitors C.
If low frequency is fed to this subscriber station via a, b, the rectifier does not work because of the capacitors C connected upstream of it, but if high frequency is fed to it, see above. this is rectified in G so that the telephone receives low frequency. So it has no influence on .the subscriber station, whether the incoming call over the wires a, b is low frequency or high frequency.
To avoid: that the participant owns. Words in the telephone ver takes the Anord shown in Figure 3 voltage can be used. Here, a hybrid circuit I with a microphone N, which is connected to the wires a, b via the high-frequency blocking means H , excites the winding 1 of the telephone T. The speech traffic is therefore carried out in the usual way at low frequency operation .
In the transition to high-frequency traffic in the arriving direction, the high-frequency, since its access to hybrid circuit I is made impossible by Bloekierungsmitted H, is passed through low-frequency blocking means N and rectifier G to winding 2 of the telephone. The windings 1, 2 are matched to one another in such a way that there is no transferring between them.
This adaptation can be done, for example, by attaching the windings to separate iron cores and arranging them in such a way that their magnetic fluxes do not influence each other. This enables the alternating speech currents to be completely converted into sound energy and thus to avoid
that such '\ @ alternating currents through the winding \? get back into line a, b. In the arrangement according to FIG. I, the low-frequency traffic also takes place via a hybrid circuit with microphone 1I and telephone T and via the high-frequency blocking means H,
which are connected to wires a, b . During the transition to high-frequency traffic in the incoming direction, a relay AA is excited in a known manner via a capacitor Q by means of an alternating current which emanates from the exchange.
Relay AA closes its contact a3 and remains excited as long as the DC voltage is present for the microphone supply. Relay AA also has an isolating contact a1 and a changeover contact a2. When relay AA is triggered, contact a1 is opened,
Contact a2 moved. By opening the contact al it is achieved that there is no undesired attenuation due to the hybrid circuit on the speech cores a., B,
while the telephone T is connected to the wires ca, b via a high-frequency equalizer G and low-frequency blocking means N through the reassigned contact a2 .
With this arrangement, a switch from high frequency to low frequency is achieved without the participation of the subscriber and at the same time undesired attenuation of the microphone currents in the case of high frequency traffic in the arriving direction is avoided.
5 and 6 each show an example of an exchange circuit through which the night funnels also reach the subscriber station at high frequency in long-distance traffic, when they arrive at the exchange at low frequency, e.g. B. on two-tract or four-wire amplifier lines.
In the incoming direction of a four-wire trunk line F (FIG. 5) for low-frequency communication, behind an amplifier F, there is an 11odulator 11, which obtains its carrier frequency, for example, from an exchange generator which is shared by several connection paths.
Kin sideband with carrier arrives via the low-frequency blocking means N to the office jack h and so via the local line to the subscriber station. The voice streams coming from the subscriber pass through the high-frequency blocking means H and an amplifier P in the outgoing trunk line direction. When voting is instead of
Jack K to provide a relay transmission. The carrier frequency is chosen so that the attenuation difference between high frequency and low frequency in the local cable is as small as possible, and that the symmetry and freedom from crosstalk are sufficiently large.
A two-wire trunk line D is connected according to FIG. 6 by means of a fork circuit P. The arrangement here is otherwise similar to that shown in FIG.
