Briefumschlag.
Envelope. It is known to close envelopes with the help of a binding means that consists of a chewing solution or the like, with the property that the two parts coated with it (closure flap, bag) adhere firmly to one another when the binder is dry without wetting when they are pressed together
as far as they lie on top of one another with their binding agent covering. The manufacturing-based application of the binding agent to the envelope parts (closure parts) to be joined together later, however, presents certain difficulties because of the risk of the stacked envelopes sticking together due to the binding agent flowing over the edges.
It has shown that a simple method of manufacture is possible as follows, as will be explained with reference to the drawing using an exemplary embodiment of the envelope forming the object of the invention:
The closure flap 1 of the envelope is not beveled in the usual way, but its two side edges 3, 4 are allowed to extend to the corresponding edges 5, -6 of the pocket, so that they go with them lie in a line (Fig. 1) respectively. after closing the closure flap 1 with the side edges .dern 5, 6 of the pocket 2 (F g. 2).
It can: therefore, move the envelope with the flap open (Fig. 1) through between rollers, so that it is on the side of the flap 1 that will later be placed on the pocket 2 and on: the corresponding side of the pocket 2 the binder with the formation of strips 7, $ from one side edge 3 respectively. 5 to the opposite side edge 4 respectively. 6 of flap 1 and pocket 2 is applied.
According to the drawing, the binding agent is applied in a double stripe on both parts 1 and 2! : these two double strips overlap when closing the flap 1, so that in the area of these double strips 7, 8 after: the drying of the bandage by means of the two cover parts 1, 2 adhere firmly to one another (FIG. 2).
These two double strips 7, 8 have the same distance from the marked by the dotted line 9 recorded fold of the flap 1, to which they run parallel. It is thus on the sides of the fold line 9 an unoccupied (non-rubberized) strip 1-0 respectively. 11 available.
According to the drawing, the closure flap 1 is provided with a cutout 3 'and 4 on its two opposite edges 3 and 4, that is to say on its side edges. 4 'provided. These two cutouts 3 'and 4' are curved and extend from the fold line 9 to the width of the unoccupied strip 10 of the closure flap 1.
As a result, when the order bezw. the flap 1 is closed, on the relevant side of the envelope create two of the side edges 5 and 6 of inwardly going entrances 3 "and 4" ge. These entrances 3 "and 4" permit a convenient insertion of a letter opener between the flap 1 and the pocket 2 in the areas of the opposing unoccupied strips 10 and 11 of both envelope parts and consequently an easy opening of the envelope.
Due to the arch shape of the cutouts 3 ", 4", the letter opener is advantageously given a certain amount of guidance in terms of the intended purpose.
Instead of being arcuate, the cutouts on the flap can have any other convenient shape.
