Der spez. Widerstand eines Elektrolyten, der bei 500 Volt betrie ben wird, ist schon ziemlich hoch (der ispez. Widerstand nimmt ja in etwa gleichem Ver- hältnis mit der Funkspannung, welch letz tere die Maximalspannung des Elektrolyten beherrscht, zu) und beträgt bei 20' C an.- nähernd 10,0(_10 Q.!cm";
Die Induktanz in dem Abflachkreis wird durch die Erregerspule 32 eines eleldro- dynamischen Lautsprechers geliefert. Der becherförmige Kondensator (I) hat die grösste Kapazität und wird daher finit seiner Anode wie, üblich vor der Indukl;
a,nz gesehal- tet.
<I>D)</I> ge legt.
Electrolytic capacitor with a cup-shaped vessel. It is customary to design electrolytic capacitors in such a way that the cup-shaped electrolyte container itself, since it is made of conductive material, forms the cathode.
Efforts are again being made to accommodate the largest possible capacity in a certain space (content) of the electrolyte container, which is why efforts are made to give the anode in this container (can) as large a surface as possible, because this surface is on -that the barrier hydrogen layer serving as dielectric is arranged,
depends on the capacity of the capacitor. So far, various ano denarten have been developed such. B. a spirally wound aluminum sheet, in which holes are provided at various points to allow the electrolyte free passage.
It has also been proposed to produce an electrode with a star-shaped cross-section by bending a plate from the material forming the barrier layer into the star-shaped form mentioned. However, these types of construction have the major disadvantage that the distance from different points of the anode through the electrolyte to the cathode is different, so that the series resistance of the entire system has an extremely unfavorable influence.
It is therefore of great importance to make the series resistance in an electrolytic capacitor of each particle of the formed electrode (anode) with respect to the counter electrode (cathode) as equal and as low as possible.
This can be explained from the following: If the distance between the anode and the cathode is not the same everywhere, different resistors are connected upstream of the partial capacitances that make up the total capacitance. If the design is unfavorable, these resistances can be quite large.
The spec. The resistance of an electrolyte operated at 500 volts is already quite high (the ispecific resistance increases in roughly the same proportion as the radio voltage, which the latter controls the maximum voltage of the electrolyte) and is at 20 ° C an.- approximately 10.0 (_10 Q.! cm ";
for an electrolyte operated at 550 volts, the spec. Resistance at 15g-) 00 to? 0,000 P'cm '. If only, for example, the partial capacitance of 6, aF of a capacitor with a star-shaped anode in a cylindrical can of 18, µF is supplied from a surface of 10 () cm ', what surface is at a distance of? cm.
from the cathode (which can easily happen with the construction described above), then at 15,000 -02! em spec. Resistance of the 6, ccF upstream resistor <B> 15,000 </B> 1 100 300 0. This means an enormous loss resistance because. Yes, the impedance is 6 / tF at a frequency of 100 Hertz <B> 22602 </B>.
Such a capacitor therefore has an extraordinarily high frequency dependence. This disadvantage occurs in particular with electrolytes for higher voltages, so that when constructing electrolytic capacitors for high voltages (-t00 volts and higher) the greatest attention should be paid to the constant and small distance between anode and cathode.
Nan has already suggested. dry electrical capacitors so aii3zix- form. that the electrodes consist of two strips. which are separated from a tissue absorbing the paste-like electrolyte.
However, these capacitors have the disadvantage compared to the capacitors with wet electrodes that in the event of a breakdown, the oxide skin is more difficult to restore and possibly not automatically, so that a short circuit remains between the electrodes.
An electrolytic capacitor with meanderförmibei, anode is also known, around which a housing is arranged in such a way that the distance between the anode and the housing serving as the counter electrode is constant. However, such a design is slack and therefore very unstable, which also means there is a risk of a short circuit between the anode and cathode and even damage to the dielectric material due to the slackness of the construction.
The oil stock adhering to the slack type of foul can be remedied by attaching a considerable number of fastenings and support points, but in this case the construction becomes cumbersome and expensive, so that it is less suitable for mass production.
A simple and correspondingly cheap design, combined with the advantage of a low and constant resistance, is achieved in an electrolytic capacitor according to the invention in that the anode is also cup-shaped and the cathode forms the cathode at the bottom @ ttoi-gefässee, 1e. is strengthened, and that the vessel has an inner wall that protrudes into the space formed by the anode.
which practically keeps the entire space inside the anode free, the distance between the anode and the walls of the cathode vessel surrounding it being <equal <toss at every point on the anode surface.
The cup-shaped anode can easily be produced by means of the "cold injection process" known to me, as can the cathode vessel.
An arrangement according to the invention l) also has the advantage of being successful. that a space is kept free by the inner wall of the vessel, which can be carved for this purpose. in order to arrange a second capacitor therein. The second capacitor is expediently suspended on the cover plate which closes off the interior of the outer capacitor.
The drawing illustrates two exemplary embodiments of the invention and a use; such an execution.
Fig. 1 shows a cup-shaped capacitor Kon: Fig. Vetanschaixlieht the connection of a cup-shaped capacitor with a second capacitor contained in its interior; Fig. 3 shows the use of a unit in a device for flattening a wavy stream.
The cup-shaped anode 1 shown in FIG. 1 is, for example, pickled for the purpose of increasing the surface area. This surface enlargement can be made as indicated in Patent No.
17Q2.12. This cup has a cylindrical part 2 on the underside, which serves as a support foot for the cup on the base 3 made of synthetic resin. A soft rubber plate 4 is inserted between the foot 2 and the base piece 3 for the purpose of sealing. The cup base has a tapered cylindrical part 5 in the middle, which is partially hollow,
whereby the Bechei is attached to .dem bottom .3 in its central bore by means of a folded edge 6 with the interposition of a solder lip 7 as an anode connection.
The bottom piece 3 can be configured in such a way that it has a cavity with screw thread 8 located on the outside at its end.
The cathode of the capacitor is formed by the vessel, the outer wall 9 of which is attached to the base piece 3 by means of grooves, the soft rubber plate 4 forming the liquid seal.
The inner wall 10 of the vessel is also designed cup-shaped if. This De rather has a constriction in the vicinity of its open end, in which one or more openings 11 are located. These openings are covered by means of a soft rubber band 12. The valve device is thus formed, which acts as follows: In the rubber band, fine needle pricks are arranged opposite the openings 11.
If an overpressure occurs in the condenser vessel as a result of gas evolution, so. the very fine stitches in the rubber band can expand so that the gas can escape.
The two vessel walls 9 and 10 are rolled up at 13 with their edges so that a liquid-tight closure of the vessel is obtained. The cavity 14 is completed by means of a plate 15, which can consist of an insulating material or Me tall at will. This plate is attached to the neck of the vessel, for example by means of a folded edge 16.
The fact that the effect of the capacitor described is actually advantageous and the space required and the type of construction is very limited is evident from the following data: The dimensions of the cup-shaped anode are: diameter 30 mm and height 80 mm; the capacity, depending on the surface enlargement treatment used, is 8 to 16 μF, at an operating voltage of 550 volts.
The series resistance is very low (in the order of magnitude of 3 SZ) due to the very small distance between anode and cathode (2 mm). The loss angle is therefore significantly below 0.1.
The electrolyte used is, for example, a solution of 1000 g glycerine, 240 g boric acid, 10 cm '13 N ammonia and 30 cm' water.
The leakage current is also very favorable during operation, namely only 0.1 mA per MF. As a result of the constant short distance between the anode and cathode and the low series resistance, the frequency dependence of the capacitance is very low.
In Fig. 2 an arrangement of a unit is illustrated in which a second capacitor is arranged in the cup-shaped capacitor.
This second capacitor has a lid 17 on its upper side, which contains two rabbet nuts 18 in the flat side, as is described in patent No. 18y514. The lid is attached to the vessel 1 <B> -9 </B> with a groove, in that the whole is suspended from the cover plate 15 'with two screws 20. This plate is in turn attached to the cup rim by means of a separate metal folded edge 13 '.
The second capacitor is further constructed in such a way that it has a star-shaped anode 21, ssrelehe by means of a solder lip 2? is led out to the outside .. A wire 23 is soldered to this lip, and this is protected by a hole? 5 in the cover plate 1.5 'which is protected by an insulating ring 2: I (but only if the plate is made of metal) outwards.
Likewise, the vessel 19 forming the cathode can be used with. this conductive solder lip?: 6 with. a wire 2 7 leads out in a manner corresponding to the anode lead.
The top of the vessel 19 is designed with a dome 28, which carries a rubber band 29 around its periphery, which (,:, covers one or more gas holes 31. If the gases developed during operation of the condenser still entrain liquid droplets, see the risk of the liquid escaping from the vessel is eliminated by covering the hollow space between the lid 17 and the upper side of the vessel with a liquid-absorbing compound X, for example sawdust.
is filled, so that any liquid remains in this mass.
If the plates <B> 15 '</B> are made of metal bx, -, there is the possibility. to connect the cathodes of the two capacitors to one another electrically and lead them out. The solder lip 3 3 (see Fig. 1) can serve as the overall cathode connection in this case.
This is beneficial. when using such a unit in a flaking device. An illustration of such a device is given in FIG.
A pulsating direct current is applied to terminals <4 and ss, which is flattened and taken from terminals C and D, e.g. B. to feed a radio or amplifier.
The inductance in the flat circuit is provided by the excitation coil 32 of an electric dynamic loudspeaker. The cup-shaped capacitor (I) has the greatest capacitance and is therefore finite with its anode, as is usual before the inductor;
a, nz held. The capacitor II is dimensioned in such a way that it has a lower capacity and a lower i1Ta @ imalspa, nnnng and lies behind the inductance. The two cathodes are electrically connected to one another by means of the metal plate <B> 15 '</B> (Fig.?) And are connected together to the negative line (B,
<I> D) </I> laid.
