La fig. 1 montre, en coupe longitudinale, un dispositif interposé entre un générateur, à pression constante et à débit constant, et une turbine; La fig. 2 montre le diagramme de réglage de l'installation selon la fig. 1; La fig. 3 montre, en élévation (parties en coupe), une installation comportant un géné rateur à pression constante et à débit variable ainsi qu'une turbine; La fig. 4 montre, semblablement à la fig. 3, une installation comportant plusieurs générateurs à pression constante et à débit constant ainsi qu'une turbine à injection frac tionnée;
Device for adapting the operation of at least one compressed fluid generator to that of at least one receiving machine. The invention relates to a device for adapting the operation of at least one generator of compressed fluid at constant pressure to that of at least one receiving machine, such as, for example, a turbine, the operating conditions of the two . types of machine (generator and receiver) being known.
The device according to the invention is charac terized in that the coupling pipe between the two types of machine is provided with adjustment means acting on the fluid supplied to the receiving machine in such a way that the stable operation of the installation is Ensured at different load regimes under optimum operating conditions of the receiving machine.
It is known that, unlike steam generators, compressed gas generators generally have the essential characteristic that their production power can be varied almost instantaneously. Said compressed gas generators are constituted, for example and advantageously, by "self-generating" machines with free pis tons and at constant pressure, which, as known, are capable of operating at a constant rate or at a variable rate. These generators are well known in themselves, so that there is no need to describe them in detail and that we have been satisfied, on the drawing, to indicate their location in the installations. tions.
As regards the receiving machine, it can be constituted at least by a turbine whose flow rate, as known, is clearly determined, for the same degree of injection, by a so-called characteristic curve for each value of the injection. pressure.
The drawing represents, by way of example, several embodiments of the device according to the invention.
Fig. 1 shows, in longitudinal section, a device interposed between a generator, at constant pressure and at constant flow, and a turbine; Fig. 2 shows the installation adjustment diagram according to fig. 1; Fig. 3 shows, in elevation (parts in section), an installation comprising a generator at constant pressure and variable flow rate as well as a turbine; Fig. 4 shows, similarly to FIG. 3, an installation comprising several generators at constant pressure and at constant flow rate as well as a fractionated injection turbine;
Fig. 5 shows, on a larger scale and in section, part of the installation according to FIG. 4.
In the example following fig. 1 and 2, a compressed air generator for example, at constant pressure and at constant flow rate located at 1, is connected to the turbine located at 2 by a duct 3, in which is arranged, in branch, a discharge member constituted by an appropriate shutter 4 (valve, register, slide, etc.), the lifting or opening of which allows part of the fluid to escape through a pipe 5, opening, for example, to the open air or in a dump tank.
The shutter 4 is controlled by a rod 6 and a piston 7, biased, on its upper face, by the pressure prevailing in the duct 3 (upstream pressure of the turbine), thanks to the connecting tube 8 and on its lower face, by the action of a spring 9, the tension of which can be modified at will or automatically by the action of the regulator 10 of the turbine thanks to a sleeve 11, capable of sliding along the rod 6 and bearing the support plate 12. of the spring 9.
In fig. 2, the operating point corresponding to the rate at has been designated by A. full load of the turbine (flow Q, pressure p on curve 1 and power P (point A 'on curve II). If the resisting power becomes P', less than P and corresponding for the turbine to the pressure p 'and at flow Q' (point B), generator 1 delivers too much air and at too high a pressure and the turbine has a tendency to race.
However, as the regulator 10 increases the tension of the spring 9, the opening of the shutter 4 is obtained by the amount necessary and sufficient for the new equilibrium corresponding to the power P '. When this equilibrium is reached, the shutter 4 is in equilibrium under the action of the new pressure p1 and the tension of the res out 8, the regulator having resumed its normal position, because the decrease in the gas flow causing the turbine causes at the same time a decrease in the speed of the turbine, therefore a decrease in the action of the regulator 10 on the spring 9.
The pressure of the gas corresponding to the lower speed is then sufficient to maintain the shutter 4 in its new position.
If, on the other hand, the turbine must be supplied with a greater air flow and a higher pressure, which is manifested by its momentary slowing down, the regulator 10 relaxes the spring 9, which causes partial closing or closing. full shutter 4, until a new equilibrium is reached.
To obtain good operation of the generator, for which it is wished to keep the discharge pressure normal, there is provided, for example, between the generator 1 and the pipe 3, a shutter 13, operated automatically by a piston 14 arranged in a cylinder provided with a pipe opening into the atmosphere. This piston 14 is subjected on one of its faces to the pressure prevailing in the duct 3 and on the other to the action of an antagonist spring 15, so that if the pressure is zero or insufficient in said duct 3, the shutter prevents, by its closure, the reduction of the discharge pressure of generator 1.
If the flow rate of the motor generator 1 can be varied by acting, for example, on the quantitative control of the fuel injection (fig. 3), we go from the operation corresponding to point A (fig. 2) to operates at a lower power, for example that corresponding to point B, by acting, on the one hand, on the flow rate of generator 1 that is regulated, for example, by an injection which meets the demand of the turbine and, on the other hand, on the pressure for introducing the compressed air into the turbine by rolling the fluid upstream of the latter by means of the shutter 13.
The above adjustment organs, respectively provided for the flow rate and the pressure, are automatically combined, so that a reduction in flow corresponds to a decrease in pressure suitable for the correct operation of the turbine, whatever the the power to be supplied.
In fig. 3, the quantitative control member 16 of the injection pump and the register 17 which, by its position, regulates the rolling of the fluid, are both controlled by the same rod 18 itself subjected to the action of the fluid. regulator 10, for example by the intermediary of a pressurized oil relay 19, of which the distributor 20 is controlled directly by the regulator 10 and which is supplied by a pump 21, driven by the turbine 2.
If the load on the turbine decreases, it tends to get carried away and the regulator, by moving the distributor 20, connects the conduits 22 and 23. The oil under pressure then acts on the right side. piston <B> (the </B> relay 19 and pushes said piston and rod 18 to the left of which it is integral, which has the effect, on the one hand, of reducing the quantity of fuel injected and, of on the other hand, to close the register 17 more and, consequently, to create a greater pressure loss.
Increased turbine load a. a reverse effect due to the momentary slowing down of the turbine 4. The distributor 20 is then urged in the opposite direction by the regulator 10 and the oil, passing from the conduit 23 into the conduit 24, acts on the other face (see relay piston 19.
As soon as, as a result of the equilibrium between the motive powers and resistors, the turbine has resumed its normal regime, the distributor 20 interrupts all communication between the pump 21 and the relay 19 and, therefore, the components 16 and 17 remain in their position. In the case of important installations where.
several generators, at constant pressure and at constant flow rate, flow in the same turbine or in several separate turbines, the power of the installation is also regulated by the free exhaust of a certain quantity of fluid, but this will greatly reduce the quantity of fluid lost by con judging the adjustment mode, already described, with the stopping or starting of one or more units, depending on the load requested from the turbine.
To do this, the fluid supplied by each generator is directed into one of the turbines or into an inlet compartment of the same partial injection turbine and the entry into play or shutdown is caused in dividual of the different generating units, depending on the momentary load of the receiving machine.
In fig. 4, there are provided, for example, three generators l ', l', l 'delivering the fluid they produce through conduits 3' 3 '33, respectively in the intake compartments 21 2 = and 2' d 'a same turbine 2. The discharge valves 41, 4' and 4 ', disposed respectively in the aforementioned conduits 3', 3 'and 3', are controlled by the same relay of any type, for example mechanical that, hydraulic, electric or, as represented, pneumatic, so that said valves can let out, outside and according to their degree of opening, a quantity of fluid that is all the greater as the turbine is less loaded.
The generator starting system is such that each unit is automatically started as soon as the pressure prevailing in the discharge pipe of the immediately preceding unit has become sufficient, this pressure being transmitted through pipes 25 'and 25'. while the starting duct 25 'of the generator 11 is in communication with an external compressed air source; said system is such, moreover, that the generators stop automatically when the pressure transmitted by one of said conduits 25 ', 25' and 25 'drops below a certain value.
If the turbine load decreases, only the discharge valve of the last generator in operation can be operated, the other valves being blocked, in their closed position, by an advantageously automatic system, such as, for example, that shown on the diagrams. fig. 4 and 5 and essentially constituted, for each of the valves 4 'and 4', by a piston 26 subjected, by one of its faces, to the pressure prevailing in the discharge duct 32 'or 3', of the generator 1 = or 13 following, and by its other face to the action of a spring 27.
Each piston 26 drives a spool 28 which, by its position, opens or closes the inlet of a working fluid, such as pressurized oil in a cylinder 29, in which the action of said fluid on a piston 30, counterbalanced by the action of a spring 31, allows the corresponding valve 41 or 4 'to be operated. The distribution of the pressurized oil delivered by a pump 3 \ 2 driven, for example, by the turbine can be regulated by a distributor coupled to the regulator 10 of the turbine, which distributor can, for example, be constituted as shown. by a drawer 33 with two bodies.
Depending on the position occupied by the spool 33, the latter communicates the supply duct 34 of the cylinders 29, either with the delivery duct 35 of the pump, or with the drain duct 36 or else interrupts all communication between these different passages.
If the generators 1, 12, 13 are running and the turbine load decreases, the action of the regulator 10 causes the conduits 33 and 34 to be placed in communication and the oil is sent under pressure into the cylinder 29 of the valve 43, which is then opened by the corresponding piston 30. The pressure decreases, therefore, in the conduit 33 and when the valve 43 is fully open, the pressure in said conduit is insufficient to keep the distributor 28 of the. valve 4 '. By opening this distributor, pressurized oil is introduced into the corresponding cylinder 29, which ensures the opening of the valve 42.
As a result, the pressure in line 3 <B> '</B> decreases and generator 13 is stopped. Said generator 13 can only be restarted when the valve 42 is completely closed, which is obtained when the load on the turbine increases and the spool 33, controlled by the regulator 10, closes the duct 35 and communicates the duct. 34 and the drain pipe 36. The result is that the pressure ceases to act in the cylinder 29, the piston of which controls the valve 42, and that said piston is returned to the closed position by the corresponding outlet 31.
