Fig. Ja erklärt diese Verhältnisse im einzelnen.
TV transmission process. It was previously common practice to synchronize the remote image transmission as a result of the fact that at the end of each line and at the end of each image a short respectively. long impulse was given in a certain direction, which surpasses the characters of the picture content in strength. The reception of such a broadcast was then made possible by a so-called amplitude filter. that is, by means of a device which only becomes current-permeable above a certain threshold value.
The response threshold of this amplitude filter was then practically set so that the synchronous characters still come through because of their large amplitude, but the icons do not. The synchronous characters were thus separated from the image streams.
A disadvantage of this method is on the sending side. A certain amplitude area must be reserved exclusively for the synchronicity signs. You can therefore never fully control the transmitter with the icons alone. In practice, a maximum of two thirds of the antenna current can be used for the icons; the last third must be reserved for the sync characters. If the reception is weak, you still get still pictures, but the picture content is so weak that you can't see anything.
Another disadvantage is that strong atmospheric disturbances can always activate the synchronous apparatus when the volume exceeds the response threshold of the sieve.
The present invention relates to a method that eliminates these disadvantages and consists in the fact that the synchronous pulses during the majority of the lines BEZW. Image change period is not given the opportunity to act on the grid device. The connection to the raster device is rather only shortly before the ends of the image lines, respectively. the educator. An exemplary embodiment of an arrangement for carrying out this method is to be explained in more detail below.
An amplitude sieve of a special kind is switched between the picture symbol receiver and the synchronization clamps of the raster device, and its Asnsprechschwelle is changeable. As described below, the sieve is completely blocked during 90 / 1'o 'of the line construction time (blocking phase). During this time, no reception, no matter how strong, can penetrate it, and no interference can affect the synchronization.
The response threshold of the screen is only set differently shortly before the end of the line is reached. The sieve is pretensioned so that characters with normal reception strength can now pierce it. A current does not yet flow through (waiting phase). Only when the transmitter exceeds a certain threshold value during this waiting phase does the amplitude filter break through and the raster device is synchronized (ignition phase).
Shortly after the tipping point has occurred in the raster device and thus the pixel has been thrown back to the other edge of the image, the amplitude sieve returns to its initial state, i.e. it is blocked and the game begins again.
The described method of operation includes a certain form of the diagram of the broadcast program, that is, a certain quality of the synchronous characters at the edges of the picture. Fig. Ja explains these relationships in detail. It is exposed before that an image with the image area 1 as an image positive, z. B. as a positive film is given. The transmitter is modulated with this picture in such a way that a white spot in the picture corresponds to a large antenna current, while a deep black spot in the picture causes the antenna current to disappear.
The characteristic curve 2 of the transmitter in FIG. 2a represents the relationship between the brightness of the image H and the antenna current intensity i. The point i-zero is thus reached for H = 0.
The sender is therefore already 100% modulated by the image. The image area 1 in Fig. Ja is made smaller by about 10 than the division area 3 of the Nipkow disk, which is determined by four image points 4, in which case a spiral perforated disk is used as the basis. Half of the edge between the dividing surface and the image 1 is illuminated by optical means.
An inner edge 5 is created with a brightness HE. What remains is an outer edge 6 in which every exposure disappears completely (H = 0). The antenna current diagram resulting from the scanning of such an imaging surface is plotted over time in FIG. 2b. The time segments 7, 8 etc. each correspond to a line period. At the end of each line, the scanning pixel slides over the double edge 5/6.
This is a time segment 7 ', 8', which is 10% of the total time 7/8 of a line (edge time). The "edge signal" arises within this picture edge. The edge signal begins with an intensity H., corresponding to the inner edge drawn in 'Fig. Yes, which is exposed with this brightness. The edge signal ends with the intensity zero at the moment when the scanning pixel comes into the outer edge 6 of FIG. Yes, because in this phase any exposure disappears at all.
The point in time at which this jump from HG to zero occurs is denoted by tz in FIG. 2b. tz means: ignition time.
The reception of such a transmission according to the method of time blocking is now explained in FIG. 3 using a circuit example of an arrangement for carrying out the method according to the invention. The reception happens with a superhet. 'The last tube of the intermediate frequency amplifier is labeled {J. This tube is inductively coupled to the detector tube 11 through the intermediate frequency transformer 10.
The circuit of this tube 11 with the two twin grids 12a, 12b is known. The effect is such that the anode of 11 can only assume negative extreme values when the carrier wave disappears. This is only the case if the transmitter's antenna power fails. The instantaneous value of the anode voltage of 11 is then only determined by the anode battery 13 of the receiver and is therefore independent of any coincidences of reception. The amplitude sieve with the time lock is the tube 14. The cathode 15 of the water tube is in direct connection with the anode of the detector tube 11.
This common pole is also connected to the control grid 16 of the television tube 1.7 and provides the modulation of the electron beam emanating from the cathode 1.8 of the television tube. The anode 19 of the sieve tube 14 is connected to an opposing voltage that can be changed by means of the potentiometer 20, and the transformers 21 and 22 are switched on in this line, and the synchronous characters are routed to the raster device and these characters are also assigned to them separate time duration,
The transformer with high natural oscillation 21 absorbs the short line bursts and the other transformer 22 the long image changes and the two transformers also reverse the polarity of the incoming signs of negative polarity into those of positive signs, which can be used directly for keying in the electron tubes of the raster are.
The function of the control grid 23 is novel. This takes care of the time blocking of the amplitude sieve 14 in the following way: The control grid 23 with the circuit of that deflection plate, for example 25a, of the two line plates 25a and 25b of the remote control, is connected via a very large pre-resistance 24 connected,
which causes the cathode ray to be deflected towards the synchronization edge of the image. This deflection plate assumes a positive alternating voltage of ever increasing size in the oscillation phase in question.
But a small coupling capacitor 25a brings the breakover oscillation of the plate 25a to the grid via the series resistor 24, and a bias voltage 28 is applied to the same grid via the discharge resistor 27. The preload 28 is now selected to be so large that only the last 10 of the line tilt oscillations are able to give the grid a weakly positive preload with respect to the cathode.
4 shows the temporal course of the line tilting oscillation as it overshoots from the left image edge 29 to the right image edge 30 and thereby assumes the amplitude 30 'with a positive sign. The bias voltage is then drawn in at 31 and is selected so large that the waiting phase, namely the time segment 32, is approximately 10% of the line period 33.
Since the size of the breakover voltage always remains constant, because this is identical to the constant size of the image field in the receiver, and since the bias voltage 28 is also a constant DC voltage, the length of the waiting phase 32 can be set to be constant. The curve 34 shows the course that the grid voltage of the tube 14 takes under the action of the water coupling with the plate circles.
As a result of the large series resistor 24 of about 106 ohms, the grid bias always remains about 1 volt at most positive than the cathode potential. Even though there is a weakly positive grid-cathode bias during the waiting phase, no current is generated in the anode circuit 19/20.
We are namely, which is easily achieved by setting the frequency of the free tilting oscillation at the receiver, in the sampling period above the inner edge of the edge signal (edge 5, brightness H., Fig. 1 and 2). During this period the detector tube 11 is energized. As a result, the cathode 15 is positively biased towards the anode, and therefore no anode current can come about despite the control grid 23 being open.
The antenna current only disappears at the ignition point tZ (FIG. 2b), when the scanning point passes over to the outer edge 6. Then the cathode becomes negative with respect to the anode and, in addition, since the grid is weakly positive with respect to the cathode, a synchronizing current surge through the sieve 14 now comes about. As a result, however, the image point is thrown onto the opposite side of the image, that is to say the deflection plate 25a again becomes negative by a few hundred volts.
The grid 23 of the amplitude sieve 14 is locked again in such a way that any connection between the reception and the synchronization element is interrupted.
The present description explains the method according to the invention using a very specific appearing execution circuit. There are numerous other ways of practicing the invention. The advantages of the arrangement described are easily recognized by what has been said above and consist in the following: By setting the response threshold of the sieve 14 (with the potentiometer 20), basically any synchronization value can be used. It is not necessary, for example, to require that the antenna current in the dark edge 6 becomes completely zero.
During the blocking phase, the antenna current can assume any value. You can even work in such a way that the synchronizing amplitude is smaller in its absolute value than the largest amplitudes of the image. This would, of course, have practically no advantages, but it shows the contrast between the inventive method of time blocking compared to the method of pure amplitude separation used today. Disturbances are ineffective at all during the blocking phase. The transmitter can be fully modulated. A negative can also be sent.
Then you only need to put the inner edge 5 on the other side of the image and distribute the image area on the dividing area according to Fig. 1h. The photo amplifier is increased by a phase inversion stage. Of course, you can also work with white instead of black outer edges. The synchronizing pulses do not need, as explained in FIG. 1, to be generated by optical exposure stages, but they can also be generated electrically.
Numerous circuits are known which can be used to produce short pulses. If the impulse to oscillate in one direction is applied to a transformer with adjusted natural oscillation and aperiodic damping, a single oscillation period of a sine wave can be picked up on its secondary side, which would correspond to a double symbol, as just described and optically was produced.
The duration of the waiting phase is advantageously equal to or greater than the scanning duration for the edge area of the image. If this condition is not met and the waiting phase is too short, the setting of the synchronization is more difficult. Otherwise, the setting is no more difficult than when receiving the previous programs.
For the practical implementation of an amplitude sieve with a variable stimulus threshold, it should be added that by introducing a second grating 23 'a coupling to the vertical plates of the television tube 17 can follow. In this case, the grid 23 'is connected via the series resistor 24' to the steering system from the Braun tube and via the bleeder resistor 27 'to the bias battery.
With such a tube with two grids, the problem of the independent keying in of alternating picture characters and line changing characters is solved most easily.
