Jedes Relais be sitzt drei Kontakte.
Arrangement for determining the sign or the direction of the onset of an oscillation or an aperiodic process with the aid of a given reference value. In various relay circuits, the task is to determine whether an oscillation begins with a positive or a negative half-wave, whereby a constant or also a periodic variable can be the reference variable. Half-waves of the oscillation above a zero line are, for example, the positive half-waves, the half-waves lying below the zero line are then the negative half-waves.
The oscillation itself can have a damped or an undamped course. It can even be dampened so much that it takes an aperiodic course. A distinction can then also be made between cases in which the graphic image of this aperiodic process runs above the zero line and those in which it is below the zero line. The single-phase earth fault is an example of the occurrence of such vibrations.
The earth fault begins with a flashover or breakdown of an insulating material. So it regularly arises in the vicinity of the maximum voltage of the relevant part of the system to earth. In the case of a three-phase line, for example, phase V will have an earth fault at the moment of its greatest voltage to earth, that is, at a point in time when the conductor has almost its greatest capacitive charge to earth.
The earth fault then causes a discharge of this stored amount of electricity, and the investigation of such earth faults, especially in cable networks, has shown that high-frequency oscillations of the earth fault current arise.
The discharge current flows to the earth fault. The first half-wave is positive in the line section on one side of the fault location, while in the line section on the other side of the fault location it has the opposite direction, i.e. is negative, based on the same reference variable, for example the associated voltage. For correct earth fault detection or earth fault indication, it must be determined which sign the oscillation of the charging current has at the moment it arises.
Also in a completely different field, namely that of telecommunications technology, there are applications in which it is also essential to determine the sign of the first half-wave of a wave train. In signal technology, for example, a direct current pulse is sent from a transmitting location via auxiliary lines to a receiving location using transformers. Although a direct current pulse is given at the transmitting site, the receiving site receives an alternating current pulse due to the transducers in between. Depending on which direction the direct current pulse has at the transmission point, the first half-wave of the alternating current pulse derived from this pulse has a positive or negative sign.
Since the invention provides a means of defining the direction of the first half-wave of the received alternating current pulse, the invention makes it possible to give distinguishable characters at the sending location by their direction, which are also used to various effects at the receiving location despite the interposition of the transmitter can be.
In the drawing, various exemplary embodiments of the invention are shown. In Fig. 1 the arrangement consists of two. Discharge vessels 1 and 2 each with an anode 3 and 4, a cathode 5 and 6 each and a control grid 7 and B. A direct current source is provided as the anode voltage. The tubes are connected in parallel in the same direction, and their cathodes are heated by a common heating transformer 10. The control grids 7 and 8 are connected to one another via the winding of a converter 11.
The center of the transducer is tapped and connected to a point of an opposing stand 12, whereby the grid is given a negative bias against the cathode.
The tubes used are tubes with self-discharge, i.e. tubes filled with gas or steam with a cold or heated cathode. In addition to air of atmospheric composition, especially noble gases such as helium and neon or mixtures of both as well as hydrogen or nitrogen at a suitably selected pressure come into consideration for the gas filling. Mercury vapor tubes with internal or external (capacitive) ignition electrodes can also be used to advantage. It is expedient to choose electrode shapes that are adapted to the current strength and duration.
In the case of tubes with a cold cathode, the ignition delay is practically completely avoided by choosing suitable electrode shapes. Tube circuits without ignition can be used up to the highest frequencies, which are important for this; they can be used in almost the entire range of sound frequencies. If a sufficiently high control voltage is available, which should always be the case, for example, when the circuit is connected to a current transformer, the anode voltage and control voltage or ignition voltage can be interchanged.
The converter secondary voltage then becomes the anode voltage and the control electrodes receive a positive bias voltage. At the moment when one tube is ignited, a grid capacitor is highly negatively charged, for example due to the voltage drop in the anode current of the tube that was ignited first. This negative call charge is only slowly lost over a high resistance. In the meantime, the first tube can have excited a relay with a drop contact or a self-holding contact, which short-circuits or disconnects both tubes.
Rapidly successive ignitions of the first tube are quite possible if the time constant of the capacitor circuit of the other tube is large enough.
As soon as a pulse hits the primary winding of the transducer 11, the grid 7 or the grid 8 relative to the associated cathode is positive, depending on which sign the first half-wave of the secondary voltage of this transducer caused by the pulse has. It is assumed that the secondary voltage is sufficient, respectively, the negative bias of the grid 7. 8 repeal. So depending on the direction in which the first current surge runs ver through the primary winding of the converter 11, the tube 1 or the tube 2 is ignited. The passage of current through the tube which has ignited is maintained from the anode voltage source.
The voltage between the anode and cathode drops to the amount (operating voltage) that is necessary to maintain the current passage. Since the two tubes 1 and 2 are parallel, the same voltage is applied to both, so that the anode voltage of the non-ignited tube also drops to the amount of the burning voltage. This voltage is below the voltage required for ignition, so that the second tube does not respond even if its grid receives a positive potential over the cathode afterwards, i.e. during the second half-wave of the secondary voltage of the converter 11. It is therefore only one or only the other of the two discharge tubes ignited depending on the sign of the first half-wave of the secondary voltage of the converter 11.
As a result of the increased current passage through the resistor 12, the negative bias voltage of the control electrodes or ignition electrodes 7 and 8 with respect to the corresponding cathode is also increased. The negative voltage increase corresponds to the voltage drop caused by the current through one of the two discharge tubes on the one hand in the part of the resistor 12 that lies between the two taps, and on the other hand in an additional current limiting resistor 13.
The ignition of the second tube is suppressed by two measures at the same time, namely by the fact that the anode voltage almost drops to the burning voltage of the other tube and also because the negative grid bias is increased.
FIG. 2 shows an application of the arrangement indicated in FIG. 1 with two discharge tubes in alternating current networks. The two discharge vessels 1 and 2 are in turn parallel to a common DC voltage source, the control electrodes 7 and 8 are again connected to each other via the secondary winding of an intermediate transformer 11 and with the help of a current limiting resistor 12, as well as an additional adjustable resistance 14 is normally a Maintain negative bias of the control electrodes.
In the anode circuit, however, there are not two separate relays, but one relay with a double winding, which produce opposing fields when the current flows through them. A directional field which is produced by a coil 17 and which is excited by a periodic voltage, namely the secondary voltage of a voltage converter or transformer 18, interacts with these two coils 1.5 and 16. The transformer 11 is fed by a current converter 19 with a secondary circuit 20.
The use of an intermediate converter can be particularly advantageous here, which is already saturated with a low level of excitation and supplies a constant voltage. You can voltage the secondary voltage of the converter 11 by known means, for. B. limit glow lamps on the primary or secondary side.
The manner in which we operate this arrangement is the same with respect to the two gas discharge tubes 1 and 2 as in the arrangement in FIG. 1; as soon as the secondary voltage of the converter 11 is sufficient, the negative voltage of the ignition electrode of the tube 1 or the tube 2 is overcome, so that one of these two tubes is activated. As a result, either the coil 16 or the coil 15 is traversed by a direct current and, depending on whether the mains voltage that is taken from the transformer 18 at that moment,
is in the positive or negative half-wave range, the instrument 15, 16, 17, which represents a wattmeter, gives a first deflection to the left or to the right. As a result, a relay 22 is thrown on either via the con contacts 21 or via the con contacts 23 a relay 24. Each relay controls a signal device indicated below as a half-hatched square. In addition, each relay has two contacts, one of which means a self-holding circuit for the relevant relay, while the other is in the excitation circuit of the second relay and prevents subsequent excitation of this second relay.
If the relays trigger a drop flap, the self-holding contact can be dispensed with. The mutual locking is provided because the wattmeter contacts 21 and 23 are alternately closed to the rhythm of the frequency of the voltage taken from the transformer 18. If, for example, the current direction at the moment the error occurs is such that the contact 21 is closed first, the relay 22 first opens a contact 25 in the circuit of the relay 24. It is reversed when the contact 23 is closed first, the solenoid 24 is switched on, which switches off the relay 22 by means of a contact 27.
With this arrangement, depending on whether the first use of the periodic or aperiodic fault current ignites the discharge tube 1 or the discharge tube 2, the relay 22 or only the relay 24 is triggered, and it comes to A, usdruok whether the current surge had a positive or negative direction in relation to the phase position of the mains voltage.
In Fig. 3 the application of the invention is shown for a ground fault protection device. In this arrangement, two pairs of discharge tubes are used, one pair of which is controlled by the summation current and the other pair is controlled by the zero point displacement voltage. According to the descriptions of the other figures, the mode of action is understood even without an overly detailed representation. Depending on the direction in which the total current is applied, a discharge vessel 31 or a discharge vessel 32 is ignited. The ignition transformer 11 is connected to the known summation circuit of three current converters 33.
The zero point displacement voltage controls the discharge vessels 34 and 35 by means of an ignition transformer 111. Depending on the polarity of the onset of the zero point displacement voltage, only tube 34 or only tube 35 comes into operation.
The tubes 31 and 34 on the one hand and the tubes 32 and 35 on the other hand work together in such a way that a signal or a switching effect only occurs when either the tube pair 31, 34 or the tube pair 32, 35 has ignited.
When the tube 31 responds, a relay 40 is energized, which closes its contact 41. In a corresponding manner, the ignition of the discharge vessel 34 causes the excitation of a relay 42 and in this way the closure of a contact 43. When the contacts 41 and 43 are closed, a signal or switching device 44 is activated.
The controlled by the tubes 32 and 35 signal device or switching device be available, for example, from a relay 45 with two windings, which together give a watt metric torque only when they are excited at the same time.
The arrangement shown in FIG. 3 has the effect of an undelayed earth fault direction relay which only responds when the fault location is on a certain side from the relay location. As for the earth fault, the arrangement can also be used as a direction relay for short-circuit protection if the control transformers 11 and 111 are appropriately excited.
One can also achieve that, depending on whether the fault location is to the left or right of the relay location, a first or a second signal or switching device is activated.
For this purpose, the sign of the oscillations of the total current is determined with reference to the sign of the instantaneous value of the voltage. For this purpose, for example, the line current or fault current controlled arrangement 31, 32 and 11 can be used in conjunction with the tubes 34 to 35 controlled by the voltage. The anode current of the tubes 31 and 32, for example, closes one contact each, while the anode current of the tubes 34 and 35 closes two contacts each.
A diagram of such a circuit is shown in FIG. 4. With J +., J-, E_ respectively. E + are the contacts that are, for example, with the help of relays in the Ano circles of the individual tubes with positive or negative sign of the use of current BEZW. Voltage are closed. In this arrangement, as can be seen, each current-controlled discharge vessel controls one contact, and each voltage-controlled discharge vessel controls two contacts.
Of course, you can also reverse the arrangement so that there are two contacts in the anode circuits of the current-controlled discharge vessels, while the voltage-controlled tubes only control one contact each.
In FIG. 5, an arrangement is drawn which provides the same result as the arrangement in FIG. 4, but which, in contrast to this, does not require any contacts in the anode circuits. The anode circuits of the tubes excited by the current J are routed over two wattmeter coils, in such a way that, for example, one discharge tube 60 feeds two current coils 81 and 62, while the other discharge vessel 61 supplies two current coils 63 and 64 with current. The current in coils 81 and 62 generates a field in one direction, the current in coils 63 and 64 generates a field in the other direction in every watt meter.
Each wattmeter then still has a voltage coil 65 and 66, which from the two discharge vessels 67 and 68, which are controlled by the voltage, the current he hold. When the discharge vessel 61 is ignited by the current, a watt-metric torque occurs only in the watt meter whose voltage coil is excited at the same time.
However, depending on the phase position between current and voltage, this is either only the voltage coil 65 or only the voltage coil 66. As a result, either only the wattmeter contact 69 or only the wattmeter contact 70 is set. Every wattmeter can deflect in two directions.
The mating contacts can therefore be interconnected in pairs if you only want to grasp the direction of the fault. From whether the contact 69 or the contact 70 was closed, one can also see whether the error began with a positive or negative current surge and whether it was created with a positive or negative voltage.
In the embodiment of FIG. 5, the wattmetric relays are designed with two current coils and only one voltage coil. The arrangement also works correctly if the discharge vessels controlled by the current in the figure are instead controlled by the voltage and the tubes 67 and 68 are controlled by the current instead of the voltage.
In some systems, such causes can trigger a vibration that is irrelevant to the detection. If, for example, a ground fault is to be determined by means of the tube circuit and the direction in which it is located from the relay location, then according to FIG. 3 the tube circuit is controlled by the zero point displacement voltage and the total current of the line. However, the tube circuits should not respond, for example, through a switching process, for example because the three switches of a three-phase current line are not mathematically closed at exactly the same time.
The current connection will regularly be established a little earlier on one or the other phase than on the other. In this short time difference, a voltage occurs in the secondary circuit of the summation current transformer, whereby a tube is ignited depending on the sign of this voltage. At the same time, however, a displacement voltage also occurs temporarily, so that one of the two discharge vessels that are controlled by the displacement voltage is also ignited.
The arrangement does not behave differently during this switch-on process than with an earth fault. Nevertheless, one often has no use for the relay device to give a signal for every traveling wave that flows over a single line and causes a brief shift of the zero point of the system to earth. Therefore, in this case, a signal or some other switching action, e.g. B. Switch triggering made dependent on the fact that a further relay also responds.
For example, the earth fault indication can be made dependent on the fact that a normal voltage relay, which is excited by the zero voltage, responds. This relay is so slow that it is caused by - a very brief displacement voltage, such as when a line section is switched on or off, when the switch contacts are not closed exactly at the same time or that some of the switch contacts are caused by sparks shock or arc, the switching on or interruption occurs earlier than in the other phase conductors, is not put into action.
Instead of or together with mechanical inertia, one can also use electrical inertia, for example a slowly rising resonance circuit. In another application, in which a circuit with discharge tubes is used to receive signal characters, the character being given in the form of a direct current pulse and passed on with the interposition of a transmitter, you can receive the character at the same time as receiving the signal start a time relay, which only completes a control circuit prepared by igniting a discharge tube if a second pulse follows at a very specific time interval.
In the event of a double earth fault, the earth fault indicator can be made ineffective, for example, by an overcurrent relay which switches off the ignited tubes by interrupting the anode circuit or temporarily shorting the tubes. At the same time, a time relay can be used to ensure that after the tube has been ignited, a certain amount of time passes before a display device or a switching device is triggered.
If, in the meantime, the overcurrent relay responds because there is not a single but a double earth fault, then the entire facility is brought back to rest before the switching device or signaling device is influenced.
In Fig. 6 three pairs of tubes are ge drawn. Part t1 of the circuit diagram contains the pair of tubes controlled by the zero offset voltage.
In a section B and a section C each tube pair is shown, which is excited by a total current. It is assumed that two lines branch off from a branch point and the total current Jlo and JZO is the total flow of the one respectively. of the second line, and E "is the common zero point displacement voltage. Of the tube pairs, for example, the left tube would be ignited by the positive half-wave and the right tube by the negative half-wave of the relevant control variable.
It then means, if the left tube of field B or the left tube of field C is ignited at the same time as the left tube of field A, that the energy has a certain direction. but even if the right pipe of field <I> B </I> or of field C is ignited at the same time with the right pipe of field <I> A </I>, this means the same direction of energy. If, however, with the left tube of field A, a right tube of fields B and C is ignited with the right tube of field A, a left tube of field B and C is ignited at the same time, the direction of energy has the opposite sign. The point of failure is then to be looked for in the opposite direction.
In the anode circuits of the tube are relays that are each bridged by a capacitor to ensure the ignition of the tube at the first moment of the appropriate grid voltage. For this first moment, the capacitor indicates a short circuit in the inductive relay winding. After the ignition of the tube has come about, with the first current surge in the anode circuit via the capacitor, the discharge is maintained by the current running through the relay winding. Each relay has three contacts. The contacts in field A are marked with la, 2a, 3a respectively. 4a, 5a, 6a denotes. In fields B, C, the contacts are labeled 1b, 2b, 3b, etc.
respectively 1e, 2e, 3e, etc. Two display devices F, and F .. are controlled by the tube circuit, which can be, for example, two signal drop flaps. F1 is switched in such a way that it only responds to one energy direction. FZ, on the other hand, responds to the other energy direction. In series with the windings of the display device F1 and F2 is a contact G, which is controlled by a relay <I> 11 </I>.
Relay <I> H </I> is a normal voltage relay; it is excited by the zero point displacement voltage E ". Only if, following a process that prepares the circuit for the display device F or F., to the extent that it ignites two discharge vessels, a zero point displacement during one is long enough If there is time, contact G is closed and the two discharge vessels speak to actuation of a display device.
The circuit for relay F is closed, for example, when the left discharge vessel in field A and the left discharge vessel in field B or in field C have been ignited, as well as if at the same time with the right discharge vessel in field A. the right discharge vessel in field B or in field C has addressed. The circuit for relay F. is closed when, at the same time as the left or right discharge vessel in one of the fields B and C connected in parallel, the right resp. left discharge vessel of fields A is ignited.
With each discharge vessel, a contact (3a, 4a, 3b, 4b, 3e, 4e) is provided in parallel to the associated relay in the anode circuit, which short-circuits the discharge vessel and at the same time creates a holding circuit for the associated relay. In the left discharge vessel of field A, the contact 3a is on the anode of the Entladungsge vessel and connects this anode and at the same time the lower end of the winding of the associated relay to the negative busbars.
Since the upper end of the relay winding this relay is connected to the positive busbar, a self-holding circuit for the relay in the anode circuit of the discharge vessel is Herge via the contact 3a. The switching of the relays of the other pipes is the same.
A timing relay Z is located in the common negative busbar. This timing relay has a normally closed contact via which the connection to the negative pole of the local power source is closed when the timing relay is deenergized. As soon as one of the discharge tubes has ignited, a current flows through the time relay Z. This causes the timing relay to open its contact after an expediently selected delay time, which on the one hand interrupts the anode circuit and at the same time opens the self-holding circuit for the relays in the anode circuit of the discharge vessels.
Since the timing relay Z also switches off its own excitation, the entire device then returns to the rest position until a new pulse ignites one of the zero point voltage and one of the tubes controlled by the total current. After the timing relay Z has responded, the entire device is automatically ready to work again.
It is not necessary that the contact of a relay is in series with the tube circuit, which relay is influenced by the same measured variable as the tube circuit. Instead, a relay can also be influenced by another measured variable, whereby a measured variable is expediently selected that only arises in the case in which a control effect is to be achieved, such as the differential current of a differential protection device, an inverse current component , Voltage component or power that only arises at the moment a fault occurs in the protected section.
In the case of a direction relay H influenced by the inverse power, the closing of contact G can also be dependent on the direction of the relay deflection. If, for example, the pair of tubes in field A in the exemplary embodiment is controlled by the asymmetry component of the voltage and the pair of tubes in field B is controlled by the asymmetry component of the current of a three-phase system, a relay effect dependent on the direction of the inverse power can be achieved.
As is well known, the inverse power is directed away from the point of failure, and conversely, the total power and the symmetrical power are directed towards the point of failure.
Notwithstanding the illustration of FIG. 6, the holding circuit of the anode circuit relay, which, for example, by the contacts 3a BEZW. 4a is closed for the two discharge vessels in field A, instead of being produced from the anode of the discharge vessels to the negative busbar also to the cathode of the tube. The holding circuit then also short-circuits and extinguishes the discharge vessels. At the same time, however, the voltage drop in the resistor between the cathode and negative busbar causes a high negative bias voltage of the control grid or ignition electrodes to be maintained.
Through the timing relay Z in the exemplary embodiment from the circuit for the Ent discharge vessels BEZW. for the self-holding circuit of the anode circuit relay for the time to which the relay Z is set. As long as the hold circuit for a relay is still closed, the entire device cannot work. For this reason it is advantageous not to maintain the hold circuit of the anode circuit relays longer than is necessary.
For this reason, the arrangement can also be made in such a way that the relay Z returns the entire arrangement to the rest position when no reporting unit or no control circuit has been activated because contact G has not been closed.
If, however, as a result of the closure of contact G, the ignition of the discharge vessels has had an effect, for example a reporting device or a control device or a registration device has been activated, then there is no need to maintain the self-holding of the anode circuit relay any longer, so that Simultaneously with the response of such a relay, the common anode circuit of the discharge tubes and the common hold circuit of all anode circuit relays can be opened.
For this purpose, for example, in series with the contact G, an instantaneous relay with normally closed contact is placed, which disconnects the negative or positive busbar from the power source as soon as it is excited. To suppress the resulting spark at the opening contact of the relay, it can be connected in parallel to a capacitor or a resistor in a manner known per se. The magnitude of the resistance is then to be measured in such a way that the anode current is not maintained in any discharge vessel after it has been switched on and, furthermore, in no self-holding circuit does a sufficient current flow for the self-holding of an anode circuit relay.
Regardless of the closure of the contact G, which, as in the exemplary embodiment, can also be excited by the zero point displacement voltage or, as described, by another variable, it may be advantageous to register each ignition of one or two discharge vessels. You can also connect further contacts to the anode holding circuit relay and then receive a registration of every ignition of two discharge vessels lying in series, regardless of whether another process is triggered by the ignition of the vessels.
This registration setting would then register every traveling wave and its direction, for example, and also every earth fault that was eliminated by the extinguisher.
Further advantages are achieved by switching the tube circuits available for the two measured quantities to be compared with regard to their phase relationship in such a way that an anode circuit is closed via two discharge tubes in series, each controlled by one of the two measured quantities.
In this case, neither one measured variable alone nor earlier than the other can cause a tube to ignite, and a single polarized relay or a relay with auxiliary excitation, which can also be replaced by a tube arrangement with a push-pull circuit, can be used can not only determine the sign of the relative phase position of the two measured variables, but also recognize which of the measured variables the oscillation started with a positive and which with a negative half-wave.
In Fig. 7, four Ent charge vessels 1, 2, 3 and 4 are schematically indicated by their anodes, their control grid and their cathodes. The tube pair 1, 2 is excited, for example, by the current of a power distribution line. The current can also be the earth fault current of the line or another system, for example a generator. The second pair of tubes 3 and 4 is influenced by a voltage via an intermediate converter.
To control the tube pairs 1, 2 and 3, 4 any other currents or voltages can be used, the relative phase position of which can be important at a certain moment, for example:
Earth fault current and earth fault voltage, residual current and load current in the differential protection of apparatus, machines, single lines and parallel lines, overcurrent or fault current, for example earth fault current at two different measuring points. Tubes 1 and 2 and tubes 3 and 4 are parallel to each other, but the pairs of tubes are connected in series. The discharge vessel 1 is ignited in the case of a certain current direction, and the discharge vessel 2 in the opposite current phase.
The anodes of the discharge vessels 1 and 2 are located on the winding of a relay 7, which is expediently bridged by a capacitor 8 at the positive pole of a power source. The cathodes of these Röh ren are above a large ohmic resistor 9 on the negative pole of the same direct current source. With a positive control voltage of the grid of the tube 1, this tube is current-permeable, but an anode current is only ent if one of the tubes 3 and 4 is also current-permeable at the same time; because the resistor 9 has such a high resistance that it keeps the current in the tubes 1 and 2 below the response limit of the relay or relays in the anode circuit of these tubes.
As long as the resistor 9 is de-energized., It is in its entire expansion at the potential of the negative pole of the direct current source. From a point 10 of the resistor 9, a connection branches off to the center point of the secondary winding of the intermediate transformer 5. The control grids of tubes 1 and 2 are normally also at negative potential. At the moment the current passes through the discharge vessel 1, the upper end of the resistor 9 becomes positive compared to the connection point 10 for the control circuit of the tubes 1 and 2. At the same time, the anodes of the tubes 3 and 4 receive positive potential, so that these tubes now also are ignitable.
Depending on the direction of the voltage at the moment when one of the tubes 1 and 2 responds, one of the tubes 3 and 4 also responds immediately. In this way, the greatest security for the correct determination of the relative phase position between current and voltage is achieved, because the determination of the instantaneous direction of current and voltage takes place simultaneously with great accuracy.
Just like the current controlled tubes, the voltage controlled tubes 3 and 4 also have a grid circle that has a negative bias. The negative pole of the local battery is connected via a resistor 11 to the cathodes of the Röh renpaares 3, 4, and from a branch 12 of this resistor from he keep the control grid of the tubes 3 and 4 a negative bias. At the moment the current passes through, the potential of the grids of both tubes becomes even more negative compared to the cathode, which gives the security that the second tube will not subsequently,
around the next half-wave of the voltage, can also be ignited.
In a further embodiment; which is shown in Fig. 8, is in the United connecting line, which connects the anodes of the Röh Ren 3 and 4, a in the middle of a tapped winding 20 of a relay 21 with a polarized relay armature 22 is turned on. The center of the winding 20 is connected via a resistor 23 corresponding to the resistor 9 in FIG. 7 to the negative pole of the direct current source. A line 24 branches off from the resistor 23 and gives the center of the secondary winding of the intermediate converter 5 a negative bias voltage.
The middle of the secondary winding of the intermediate converter 6 is biased negatively. If one of the tubes 1, 2 is current-permeable and at the same time one of the tubes 3 and 4, an anode current is generated via the winding 7 of the relay to be controlled and an ohmic resistor 25. The voltage then arising at the ohmic resistor 25 excites the magnetizing winding of the armature 22. Current flows through the magnetization winding only after the tube circuit has responded.
It is assumed that the discharge tube 1 is only permeable for the positive half-wave of the current, the discharge tube 2 is only permeable for the negative half-wave of the current. Accordingly, let the tube 3 for the positive and the tube 4 for the negative half-wave of the voltage. If the tubes 1 and 3 or the tubes 2 and 4 ignite, this always means the same sign of the relative phase position of the oscillation insert, for example the positive one.
If, on the other hand, tubes 1 and 4 or tubes 2 and 3 ignite, the other sign of the relative phase position of the start of the oscillation means the other - energy direction or, if the arrangement is used for earth fault detection, the position of the earth fault point on the other Side from the relay location. The armature 22 of the relay 21 is polarized with the same polarity in all cases. In the one energy direction, the positive one, the winding 20 of the relay 21 is de-energized so that the relay does not respond.
In the case of the negative energy direction, i.e. when the tubes respond crosswise, that is to say tubes 1, 4 or 2, 3, a current flows from one wire to the other in excitation winding 20. Direction. The fact that the relay 22 is responding means the negative energy direction on its own, that is to say that the two oscillations have started with opposite signs. Because the relay armature 22 deflects to the left or to the right, it is also held at the same time,
which of the two measured variables started the oscillation with a negative or a positive half-wave. Through the relay 21 one can therefore see the same thing, which, for example, can also be recognized by the arrangement of four current relays, namely one each in the anode circuit of each tube. Depending on how the intended use requires, a special relay 26 respectively can now be in the anode circuit of the tubes 1 and 2. 27 may be provided, the contacts of which are connected together with the contacts Wei terer relay in a suitable manner.
If the relay 7 in the common anode circuit of all tubes is only to come into operation in the positive energy direction, if the relay 21 has spoken to, the circuit controlled by the relay 7 is to be rendered ineffective. For this purpose, relay 22 can switch on another relay that interrupts the circuit closed by relay 7. If, on the other hand, only the negative energy direction is recorded, the effectiveness of the contact of the relay 7 can be made dependent on the relay 21 being energized. The deflection direction of the armature 22 can also be displayed or registered separately and can also be used with the.
Contacts of the relays 26 and 27 connect a counting device or registering device so that each ignition of the Röhrenan order can also be counted and registered and consequently can be determined later.
In Figs. 7 and 8 no Vorrich lines are shown to bring the once ignited tubes to extinguish again. For this purpose, one can use contacts controlled by relays 26 and 27 or by relay 7, which, for example, control a control circuit independent of the current in the tube arrangement or self-holding circuit for the relay 7 and expediently operate the tubes themselves by interrupting the anode circuit or by short-circuiting Bring the anode voltage to extinction.
The maintenance of the excitation circuit for relay 7 can then depend on a timing relay with independent time setting or on the actuation of any device for whose control the relay 7 is arranged. Finally, the excitation circuit for relay 7 can also be interrupted by a relay device dependent on a measured variable of the energy generation or distribution system, whereupon the device returns to its normal state.
The series connection of the pairs of discharge vessels can also be used to advantage if, depending on the type of process to be monitored, a certain measured variable is to be monitored in its relative phase position with respect to a first or a second or simultaneously with several measured variables. An example of this is the use of the arrangement according to the invention for earth fault monitoring of a double line. In the event of an earth fault, a zero point displacement voltage arises.
This zero point displacement voltage and the resulting first surge of the earth-fault current should be determined with regard to their relative phase position. The earth fault current in each of the parallel lines can be used for this purpose, and it is even practical to monitor the current in both parallel line branches. Another application example in which one measured variable is the common comparative variable for several other measured variables is in the case
that the zero point displacement voltage is related to the individual phase currents of a multi-phase network or, if the differential current of a busbar system is related to the currents of the individual feeder lines and consumer lines that originate from the busbar or end in it. How in one of the cases mentioned or in son term case the arrangement according to the inven tion can be designed is indicated schematically in the embodiment shown in FIG.
This arrangement has three pairs of tubes 51 and 52, 53 and 54, 55 and 56. The common size affects the tubes 51 and 52. In the case assumed in the drawing, in which two comparative sizes with the common size with regard to the mutual Phases are to be held th, the tube pairs 53, 54 and 55, 56 are controlled by one of the comparison sizes. The operation of the arrangement agrees with that of the Ausfüh approximately examples of the invention according to Fi gures 7 and 8 completely.
At the moment when either the tube 51 or the tube 52 receives a positive voltage of sufficient magnitude that this tube becomes conductive, the anodes of the two remaining pairs of tubes at the same time receive positive potential and those of these tubes which ignite also if have a positive potential of sufficient height in the grid circle or control circle. Eight possible current paths then result, namely via the tube 51 and one of the tubes 53, 54, 55 and 56 or via the tube 52 and again via one of the tubes 53 to 56.
A relay winding 60 to 65 can be located in the anode circuit of each tube, as indicated in the drawing. Depending on the measurement parameters involved, the contacts of these relays will be combined in a certain way. In the common anode circuit, as in FIGS. 7 and 8, there is a relay 7 which only closes its contact when two tubes in series have ignited. The grid or the control electrode of the two tubes 51 and 52 is at the same direct current potential as the grid of the tubes 53 to 56.
As long as no current flows through a resistor 66, the potential of the grid or control electrodes or ignition electrodes of the tubes 51 and 52 is at the same level as the potential of the cathodes. An additional battery can be switched on in the grid circle approximately at point 67, where the negative bias voltage increases this grid. As soon as one of the tubes 51 or 52 becomes current-permeable, the poten tial of the cathodes of these tubes increases compared to the potential of the ignition circuit, at the same time the anodes of the tubes 53 to 56 receive a positive potential with respect to the cathodes of these tubes.
The negative grid bias of the tubes 55 and 56 remains as long as one of these tubes has not become conductive. After the ignition of these tubes, however, a current flows through a resistor 68, which is used to limit the current, whereby the potential of the control circuit of these tubes becomes negative compared to the cathodes of these tubes. In the same way, a resistor 69 causes the potential of the control circuit of the tubes 53 and 54 to drop below the potential of the cathodes of these tubes as soon as a current flows through the current limiting resistor 59 after the ignition of one of the tubes 53 and 54. The resistors 69 and 68 can be smaller than the resistors 66.
If, however, one or two of the tubes 53 to 56 have ignited, the resistor 66 is bridged by this, so that a current sufficient to maintain the current flows in the common anode circuit of the series-connected tubes. The individual relays in the anode circuits of the tubes are bridged by capacitors to ensure a delayed start of the anode current.
It is most useful if the common measured variable is a measured variable that only arises during the process that triggers the oscillation or the aperiodic course of the measured variables.
The variable to be compared with this first can then be a permanently available measured variable. If the arrangement for fault shutdown or fault display is used in power generation and distribution systems, the common variable is the stimulus variable and the tubes 51,
52 take over the task of the excitation relay of the known selective protection circuit. In the various cases already mentioned, it would be useful to use the zero point voltage for the control of the tubes 51 and 52 or the differential current for differential protection. The number of tube pairs connected in series with the tube pair 51, 52 is given in FIG. 9 merely as an example. Additional pairs of tubes can also be arranged.
For example, you will use three pairs of tubes if you want to set the zero point voltage with the three phase currents or with the three phase voltages in a phase relationship in an earth fault indicator or protection device. It is also possible to connect more than two tube arrangements in series. For example, an excitation tube can be located in the anode circuit of the series connection of two tube arrangements which are controlled by constantly available measured variables. A determination of the relative phase position is then made at the moment one of the excitation tubes is ignited.
