Freikolben-Treibgaserzeugeranlage.
Free piston propellant gas generator system. The invention relates to a free-piston propellant gas generator system with an internal combustion engine, in which the air can be supplied to the propellant gas generator at least partially before being compressed.
The invention consists in that the fan for pre-compressing the air is designed as a centrifugal machine and is driven by a turbine to which a controllable part of the propellant gases is acted upon.
To generate propellant gases by means of piston internal combustion engines, it has already been proposed to feed the air into the piston engine in precompressed form. The blower for pre-compression was driven either by a propellant gas consumption machine acted upon by the total amount of propellant gases or by an auxiliary machine upstream of the propellant gas consumption machine in the propellant gas line. In both cases the disadvantage arose that the amount of power available for pre-compaction was dependent on the rate of the propellant consumption machine and the pre-compaction could only be adapted to the given operating conditions with losses.
In one case the pre-compression fan had to run at a speed corresponding to the speed of the propellant gas consumption machine, while in the other case the entire amount of propellant gas had to be consumed.
If a partial amount of the propellant gases is now used to drive the blower for the pre-compression, the partial amount can be changed regardless of the operation of the free-piston propellant gas generator system with regard to the given conditions without losses, because all the gases not used for pre-compression are in the propellant gas consumer can be used.
One possibility of regulating the partial quantity is that the turbine driving the compressor is regulated as a function of the load on the system in such a way that with a high load a higher and with a low load a lower pre-denting occurs. In the borderline case, the air cannot be pre-compressed and fed to the machine system with low pollution; it can then be taken directly from the atmosphere.
The subject matter of the invention is explained in more detail below with reference to an exemplary embodiment shown in the drawing. 1 shows a simplified representation of a free-piston propellant gas generator system according to the invention; Figures 2 and 3 illustrate a detail of Figure 1 in two different positions; r 'ig. 4 and 5 stel len the diagrams of the propellant gas power and the speeds during operation at different degrees of charging. Finally, FIGS. 6 and 7, entered in a simplified scheme, show the power distribution during operation without respectively. with pre-compression.
The cylinder 1 contains two free pistons 2 and 3, the movement of which is synchronized by a linkage 4, 5 and a lever 6 . The combustion necessary for work takes place in the inner cylinder chamber 7, and the air is compressed in the outer cylinder chambers 8 and 9 .
Air is supplied to the free-piston propellant gas generator through line 10, which air enters cylinder chambers 8 and 8 respectively via inlet valves 11 and 12. 9 of the culprit arrives. After compression, the air flows via the outlet valves 13 and 14 and through the line 15 and the channel 16 to the scavenging slots 17.
The fuel is fed through line 18 to the injection device 19 and then injected into the cylinder chamber 7.
The gases resulting from the combustion and excess, compressed air flow as propellant gases through the outlet slots 20 into the outlet channel 21 and from there through the line 22 to the consumption points.
A first consumer, the main turbine 24, releases the exhaust gases while withdrawing work and allows them to flow off through line 25 either into the open air or to other consumption points not shown, for example in heat exchangers. The mechanical power of the main turbine 24 is used to drive the power generator 26 , which is connected by line 27 to a non-illustrated utility network. The shaft of the turbine 24 also drives an exciter 28 which is used to excite the power generator 26. In addition, a regulator 29 is driven by the turbine.
An auxiliary turbine 30 is acted upon by a portion of the propellant gases, which is taken from the propellant gas line 2.2 before the turbine 24 and after the expansion through the line 31 either into the open air or to further, not shown Ver consumption points, it could example, an intermediate stage the main turbine 24 are supplied. The auxiliary turbine 30 drives the compressor 32, which sucks in air through the device 33 from the atmosphere and then condenses it through the line 10 to the free-piston propellant gas generator.
When the entangled 32 is out of operation, the air necessary for the operation of the free piston propellant gas generator can be supplied directly through the line -35 via the non-return element 36 be sucked in from the atmosphere. A regulating element 34 is attached in the supply line 23 for the propellant gases.
The controller 29 (Fig. 1, 2) is driven by means of the shaft 37 (Fig. 2) of the main turbine. The governor sleeve 38 increases when the speed increases as a result of the load on the turbine 24 and, conversely, decreases when the speed drops due to a load on the machine. The sleeve movement is controlled by the lever 39 and the linkage 40 on the regulating element 34 (Fig. 1, 2) in the propellant gas supply line 23 of the turbine 30 transferred.
The valve 41 is opened when the load rises and closed when the machine is relieved.
In the linkage 40, a cylinder 42 is seen, which contains a spring 43, which presses the piston 44 against the stop nut 45 when the valve 41 is in the open position. After the valve 41 is closed (FIG. 3), the spring 43 is tensioned when the main turbine is further relieved of pressure and the sleeve 38 continues to rise. To regulate the free-piston propellant gas generator system, the fuel supply is changed, for example by influencing the fuel pump not shown, but this is not specified in the drawing.
When the free-piston propellant gas generator system is under low load, the control element 34 (FIG. 1) is closed, the air to be compressed is sucked in directly from the atmosphere via the non-return element 36 and in the compressor cylinder chambers 8 and 9 to 4 atm, for example. condensed. The compressed air flows through the inlet slots 17 into the cylinder space 7 and then passes through the outlet slots 21 into the line 22, with the exhaust gases hertaining in front of you. When the cylinder space 7 is flushed through, cooling takes place. When the slots are closed, the air collects in the line 15, then when darrauffol lowing exposure again to drive the exhaust gases out and to flow through the working cylinder for cooling.
If the load increases, the control element 34 is opened by the controller 29, so that the turbine 30 drives the twisted 32 on. The compressed air flows through the line 10 to the free piston propellant gas generator and at the same time closes the non-return member 36 in the line 35. The pre-compression not only feeds more air to the free piston propellant gas generator system, but also its pressure in the line 15, for example of 4 atm.
to 6 atm., so that, on the one hand, more compressed air flows through the working space 7 into the propellant gas line 22 and, on the other hand, by burning a larger amount of fuel, increased power for compressing the air in the working spaces 8 and 9 is generated.
The abscissa in Fig. 4 and 5 is the boost pressure in the line 10, the ordinate in Fig. 4 is the power KW of the propellant gas amount (TG) directed to the main turbine 25 and the propellant gas amount (TC) directed to the auxiliary turbine 30 and finally in Fig. 5, the speed (T / min.) is selected.
The result is that in normal operation without charging, no power is consumed for the predecessor, and that the power TC of the compressor only starts when the load on the main machine (TG) increases and increases constantly.
In order to obtain the pre-compression power To plotted in FIG. 4, the speed of the pre-compressor must set the curve nC according to FIG. 5; this cannot be driven by the main turbine 24, which maintains a constant speed nG. The ratio between tween the course of the pre-compression power TC according to FIG. 4 and the speed of the pre-compressor is taken into account in the Regelvorrich device 29, 34 (Fig. 1 to 3).
Fig. 6 shows the energy distribution at full power without Vorverdielltung. The power of the unit consisting of the main turbine Tg and the generator G is denoted by Lg = 100%. A power Lc = 0% is developed from the auxiliary unit, which consists of the auxiliary turbine TC and the pre-divider C . The air flows to the free-piston propellant gas generator F at a pressure of p., = l, O: ata.
When operating with supercharging, (FIG. 7) with a pre-compression pressure of p., =: 1.2 ata, the power L, der from the main turbine < B> TG and the power generator G to 120 % and the amount of propellant gas generated by the free-piston propellant gas generator F ex to 115% the operation according to Fig. # 6,
of which amount of Ga3 a part of the auxiliary turbine To is fed to. The auxiliary turbine develops an output L of 16%, which is fed back to the free-piston propellant gas generator F in the form of pre-compressed air.
Compared to operation without charging, the amount of propellant gas increases from 100 to 115% and the output of the main engine from 100 to 120% when operated with a pre-compression p., == 1.2 ata. The invention enables losses to be avoided by continuously adapting the Auflaclebetriebes to the load conditions. The air can also be supplied to the free-piston propellant gas generator only partially in a predefined manner, in such a way that the condenser of the free-piston propellant gas generator first sucks in air and that only in the last part of the stroke is compressed air introduced into the compressor cylinder.
