Für die hier beschriebenen Schaltanord nungen lässt sich vorteilhaft eine elektrische Entladungsröhre mit einer Kathode, einer Anode und wenigstens vier Gittern verwen den, von welch letzteren, von der Kathode an gerechnet, die ersten zwei als Generator elektroden verwendet werden. Das darauf folgende kann als Schirmgitter ausgebildet werden;
7 Intermediate frequency superimposing reception arrangement in which a multi-grating tube is used as a first detector and as an oscillator. The invention relates to an intermediate frequency superposition - receiving arrangement in which a multi-grating tube is used as a first detector and as an oscillator.
It is already known to use a five-electrode tube for this purpose, in which the received vibrations are fed to the control grid and the spatial vibrations to the third grid, the electrode between the control grid and the third Gilt-er acting as a screen grid.
A switching arrangement is also already known in which the local vibrations are generated by the detector tube itself in the manner -erden. that the circle of the third grid is coupled to a self-induction in the anode circuit.
The invention now relates to a switching arrangement in which the same tube is also used to detect and generate the local "s chwin, Yuno, en, and in which the Ka- Zn ZD method, a grid and a third,
Electrode that does not act as the anode of the detector can be used as generator electrodes and the discharge space of the oscillator is separated from the grid by a screen grid, to which the vibrations received are fed. With the invention, the advantage can now be achieved that the amplification of the modulator can now be regulated without influencing the generator, which was previously not possible.
For the switching arrangements described here, an electrical discharge tube with a cathode, an anode and at least four grids can advantageously be used, of which the latter, counting from the cathode, the first two are used as generator electrodes. The next one can be designed as a screen grid;
But it is also possible to design the anode of the generator itself as a screen. It has now been found that in the first-mentioned case a simple design can be obtained if the electrode, which in this case acts exclusively as the anode of the generator, is formed from one or more small rods. This gives the advantage that this electrode, which has no other function in the tube itself, has no noticeable influence on the electron flow.
A tube is expediently used as the oscillator-modulator tube, in which the grid initially located on the anode is designed as a so-called catching grid in order to prevent secondary electron emission from the anode to the screen grid arranged between the control grid and the anode. At the same time, it has proven advantageous to connect this last-mentioned screen grid to the screen grid located between the generator anode and the control grid, expediently in the interior of the tube.
A favorable embodiment of such a discharge tube consists in that the electrodes are arranged in the form of two or more sets around a common cathode in the longitudinal direction. One set of the generator electrodes and the other set of the grid of the generator and the remaining electrodes can be formed.
1, 2 and 3 show execution examples of Schaltanardnern according to the invention, and FIGS. 4 and 5 show a discharge tube to be used expediently.
In FIG. 1, the received high-frequency chwin. Omngen are fed via a transformer 47 to a circuit 45 which is formed by the self-induction of the secondary winding 48 of the transformer 47 and the capacitance of the capacitor 46. The spatial vibrations are generated in the tuned oscillator circuit 49, which is connected via a filter 50 and a resistor 51 to the first grid 52 of a multi-grid tube 53 ..
The tube 53 also contains an anode 54 and an output circuit 55 which is coupled via a tuned transformer 57 to an intermediate frequency amplifier (not shown). The required equilibrium voltage is supplied to the anode via a line 58. The supply terminals of the anode voltage source 59 are denoted by -; - 60 and - 60. The cathode 61 of the tube 53 is connected to a point 63a of the voltage source 59 via a resistor 62 and a line 6; 3.
The input circuit 45 is connected via a resistor 64 to a point 65 of the voltage source 59 so that the grid 66, to which the received oscillations are fed, usually has a negative grid bias. The electrode 66 is the third electrode away from the cathode and is separated from the control grid 52 by means of a screen grid 67 that is located at a point 71 of the voltage source 59 via a line 68 and the primary winding 69 of the transformer 70.
A fourth grid 72 lies between the control grid 66 and the anode 54 and is also connected via a line 73 to a point which has a positive voltage with respect to the cathode, expediently point 7.
In the circuit arrangement described, the grid 52 and the electrode 67, and the cathode 61 form the electrodes of an oscillator, the frequency of which is given by the natural frequency of the circuit 49, of which the transformer 70 forms a part. The grid 52 has a negative bias voltage with respect to the cathode, which is given by the voltage gradient across the resistor 62, while the electrode 67 has a positive bias voltage and acts as an anode.
In addition, it forms a screen between the grid 52 and the grid 66 so that the input circuit of the switching arrangement and the position generator are completely separated from one another. The shielding effect of the electrode 67 is greatest when the primary winding 69 has a low impedance, which is just large enough to maintain the oscillations in the oscillator circuit. The grid 72 acts as a screen grid and prevents feedback between the anode circuit 53 and the input 45.
The bias of the grid 66 is partly due to the voltage gradient across the resistor 62 and the voltage across a part 74 of the voltage source 59 lying between the points 65 and 63 " </U> just:
The required grid bias is fed to the grid 66 via the resistor 64, so that the bias of the grid 66 changes as a function of changes in the anode current (as a result of the resistance fit) and manually by pressing a <B> -, </ B > -'t elaboration of the point-it can be regulated 6.5.
A change can also be obtained in that the amplitude of the current flowing through the resistor 64 is changed automatically as a function of the mean amplitude of the vibrations received.
In the switching arrangement described, a change in the voltage of the grid 66 results in a change in the amplitude of the dual frequency oscillations occurring in the output circuit 55 without the oscillator frequency changing, that is, although the switching arrangement described uses the same tube for detection and oscillation a device to regulate the gain can still be present,
without affecting the frequency or stability of the oscillator.
In the circuit arrangement described, the resistor 64 is in the anode circuit of a tube 75 used to regulate the amplification. The cathode 77 of the tube 75 is connected to a point 78 of the voltage source 59 which is more negative than the point 65 at which the resistor 64 lies. The grid line 79 is connected to an even more negative point 81 via a coupling resistor 80.
The received oscillations are fed to this coupling resistor via a coupling capacitor 83. With a change in the mean amplitude of the oscillations fed to the coupling capacitor 83, the anode direct current of the tube 75 flowing through the resistor 64 changes. This changes the voltage of the grid 66 in such a way that when the amplitude increases, the received oscillations, the anode current increases via the resistor 64 and the bias voltage of the grid 66 and the amplitude in the output circuit 55 decreases.
The filter 5.0 and the resistor 51 are used to level the frequency characteristic of the oscillator. Furthermore, several] capacitors 84 are provided to prevent feedback through the feed circuits.
In Fig. 2 a switching arrangement is illustrated ver, which corresponds almost entirely to that shown in Fig. 1, but in which the before direction for automatic control of the United gain is not shown. The difference is that in the switching arrangement according to FIG. 2, the screen grid 72 'is provided with a part 87 located between the control grid 66 and the electrode 67. As a result, the grid 72 forms a complete cover for the grid 66.
In this case, the electrode 67 can be formed by a single rod which lies between the control grid 52 and the screen 72 to 87, since the electrode 67 is no longer effective as a screen.
In the Schaltan arrangement shown in Fig. 3, the discharge tube 140 includes a cathode consisting of a cathode body 141 and a heater 147, an anode 142, a grid 143, an auxiliary anode 144, of which the last two electrodes he mentioned are effective as generator electrodes , two interconnected screen grids 148 and 150 and the actual control grid 146. This schematic figure shows that the electrodes are arranged in the form of two sets in the tube, one set comprising the cathode and electrodes 143 and 144 .
the other set of the remaining electrodes, cathode and electrode 143 is formed. Middle of the part 149 connected to the screen grid is a complete cover between these two sets he keep.
The grid bias voltage of the grid 146 is supplied by a voltage gradient across a part of the resistor 151, namely across the part lying between 152 and the cathode, while the bias voltage of the grid 143 is supplied by the entire voltage gradient across which the resistor is also located in the anode circuit becomes. The control grid 146 is connected to a matched input circuit 154, while the control grid 143 is connected to a second, inde pendent of the first matched circuit 155, which is coupled to a coil 156 lying in the anode circuit of the anode 144; the anode 142 is connected to the output circuit 157.
Anode and grid voltages are obtained from some source, e.g. B. a potentiometer resistor 158, the terminals of which are labeled 159 and on which suitable, variable taps 160, 161 and 162 for .the anode 142, the screen grid and the anode 144 are located. The circuit of the last-mentioned electrode includes a resistor 163.
FIG. 4 shows a longitudinal section and FIG. 5 shows a cross section through a tube which is expediently used in the circuit according to the invention. The wall of the tube is indicated at 210; At the lower end there is a pinch point 211 through which the supply wires of the tube are led to the outside and to which the set of electrodes is attached by means of retaining wires.
Two holding parts 212 are attached to the outside of the electrode set in the pinch point and carry two. z. B. made of mica parts 213, by means of which the various electrodes will keep ge at the correct distance from each other. These holding parts themselves are fastened to the insulating body 213 by means of two bodies 214. The wire bodies 212 also carry the cylindrical anode 215. In this case, five grids and an indirectly heated cathode are accommodated in the interior of this anode. This cathode consists of a heating wire - around which the actual cathode body <B> 216 </B> is arranged.
A layer of insulating material can be provided between these two. The cathode body is on the outside with an electron-emitting substance, for. B. barium oxide, coated. At the lower part of the cathode body to the guide wire 217 is attached, which is again connected to the holding part 218, which also carries the getter material 219.
In the embodiment described here, the electrodes located between the cathode and the anode, with the exception of the electrode 22.1, are lattice-shaped. This same electrode 221 acting as the anode of the generator, which also has no special function in the tube, consists of only two rods that are attached in the pinch point parallel to the holding wires of the first grid 220. It can be seen that in addition to this embodiment in the form of two rods, various other embodiments are also possible. The screen grid 222 follows the electrode 221.
then the actual control grid 223, suitably designed as an exponential grid. This control grid is led to the outside on the upper part of the tube. Finally, between the last-mentioned grid and the anode, there is also a screen grid 224 which is connected to the screen electrode 222 by means of a conductive connection 225. Although this is not shown in the figure, a so-called catching grid can finally be used between this last-mentioned grid and the anode. which may be connected to the cathode, may be provided after the screen grid to prevent secondary emission from the anode.
