Scale with automatic electrical load balancing and automatic electrical display device. The invention relates to a carriage with self-contained electrical load balancing and automatic electrical display device, in which the load is counteracted by an electromagnet, whose excitation current, which simultaneously activates the display device, is changed as a function of the load.
So far, one used for cars of this type from the Wazebalken controlled mechanical contacts, through which motors were switched to the Ver change of resistors lying in the excitation circuit of the elec tromagnetes.
According to the invention, for automatic control uni; the excitation current of the elec tromagnetes and thus seen for load balancing and for actuating the display device a control device influenced by electrical waves or by rays. It can be both invisible and visible, e.g. B. light beams are used for influencing sun and the Steuervorrich device accordingly with vibration transmitters and receivers BEZW. Light transmitters and receivers, such as selenium cells or the like, be provided.
So there is no friction between the scales and the Steuervor direction of the load balancing device and the adverse reaction of these parts to each other in the previous car. The balance according to the invention can therefore be designed both as a laboratory balance and for weighing the heaviest loads with increased sensitivity. The wellen- or strahlenemp-sensitive organ of the control device is expediently controlled by the balance beam, which is preferably done by dimming.
To achieve strong currents for the magnet to compensate, the relatively small currents of the control device are preferably reinforced. On the drawing, which illustrates two Ausfüh approximately examples, show: Figure 1 is a front view of a scale, the interior of the scale is exposed; Fig. 2 is a section on line 11-II of Fig. 1 through the lower part of the mechanism of the scale;

FIG. 7 shows a circuit diagram and FIG. 8 shows the circuit diagram of another embodiment of the invention.
On the base frame 1 support arms 2 and 3 are arranged, on which the load-bearing lever system is mounted by means of appro priate support pin. This lever system consists of a long lever 4 and a short lever 5, which are seen ver with pins or cutting, on which the load receiver or the platform 6 rests by means of suitable bearings. The end of the long lever opposite its support point is provided with a pin nose 7 which is in engagement with a bracket 8 which is connected to the lower end of a rod 9.
The upper end of the rod 9 is mortised with a lever 10 which is supported on a bearing 11 which is arranged on an inwardly projecting support 12 of the carriage housing 13. The housing 13 rests on a fixed ceiling 14 on the base frame 1.
The free end of the lever 10 is mortised to a rod 15. The rod 15 hangs from a movable magnetic core 16 to which it is connected. The core 16 is net angeord within a solenoid coil 17, which is attached to an intermediate wall 18 of the housing 13 above the free end of the lever 10. A rod 19 (Fig. 5) inserted into the head of the part 16 will follow. at the top through a guide bush 20 which is located at the upper end of the winding 17.
The upper end of the rod 19 is connected to a bracket 21. This engages via a cutting edge 22 which is provided on a control lever 23.
This lever consists of a very leich th arm 26 and an arm 25, preferably made of light metal, which by means of cutting edge 24 rests in bearing pans 31 and carries a threaded bolt 27 on which a counterweight 28 is adjustable. The weight 28 serves to balance the weight of the arm 26. Another Ge threaded bolt 29, on which weights 30 are screwed, is arranged in part 25 facing upwards.
The arm 32 carrying the pans 31 forms part of the arm 33 holding the coil 17.
The end of the arm 26 of the lever 23 is provided with a thin sheet metal tongue 34 which can move relative to a narrow slot 35 of a diaphragm 36. The aperture 36 covers an opening of a cylindri's container 37 in which a light-sensitive element 38 is housed. Opposite the .Schlitz 35 an element 39 is seen before which rays may be sent out. On the car housing 13, a Ge housing 40 is built, which contains an electric current measuring instrument 41, the pointer 42 runs over a dial 43. This scale is divided into weight units.
The radiation-emitting element 39, which is located behind the slot 35, is an ordinary elec tric bulb in the present case. In this case, the light-sensitive element 38 is a photoelectric cell or tube which is sensitive to light waves.
However, an element 39 can also be used which, instead of visible light, radiate invisible rays, that is to say infrared or ultraviolet rays, or one which emits cathode rays or electrical waves. When electrical waves are used, the receiving device is shielded by a ge earthed metal housing in which there is an opening for the waves to pass through. A metal plate, which is also grounded, moves in front of the opening depending on the pointer deflection of the balance.
The balance is suitable to be connected to an alternating current fed light or power network 50 and has a transformer 5.2, the primary winding of which is fed from the network (Fig. 7). The water transformer has two secondary windings 53 and 54. Lines 55, 56, 57, 58, 59 and 60 are connected to the secondary windings 53 and 54 at points of desired appro- priate voltage. The lines 56 and 57 feed the filaments of two electron tubes 61, 61 '. The electron flow of the tube 61 'on the right is amplified by a transformer 61 = in a known manner.
The electron tubes strengthen the .Strom that feeds the solenoid coil 17 of the electromagnet for load balancing. The number of tubes required for reinforcement depends on the weighing capacity of the scale and the type and size of the tubes used. Only a small tube is required for a small capacity scale. The line 56, which is also one of the feed lines for the filaments of the tubes, is connected to the cathode and anode of the tube 61 'and the solenoid coil 17 with the line 55 which, through the ammeters 65 and 41, each of which shows the weight: is led in connection.
Another circuit leads from the transformer via the line 57, the cathode and the grid of the tube 61, the light-sensitive element 38 and the line 58 back to the transformer winding. In parallel with the ends of the winding 53, the voltage dividers 62 and 62 'are connected by means of the conductors 59 and 60. The tap 63 of the voltage divider 62 leads via a capacitor 64 to the grid of the tube 61, the cathode of which is also connected to an end terminal of the voltage divider 62.
The tap 63 'of the voltage divider 62' leads via the secondary winding of the transformer 612 to the grid of the tube 61 ', the cathode of which is also connected to one end of the voltage divider 62. With the grips 63, 63 ', the current between the grid and cathode of the tubes 61 and 61' can be changed, whereby the zero point of the display instruments can be adjusted. The instruments 65 can be used to display at a location away from the scales.
The operation of the balance is as follows: When the platform is unloaded, the lever 23 is in such a position that the tongue 34 does not completely close off the narrow gap 35 of the diaphragm 36, which shields the light-sensitive element 38, and only a few Rays from the lamp 39 strike the selenium cell 38. The small current flowing through the coil 17 excites the magnet so far that the lever 23 assumes its zero position, and also brings the pointers of the display devices to the zero position.
As soon as a load is placed on the platform, the magnetic core 16 and thus the control lever 23 are moved downwards, so that a larger amount of light can fall through the same onto the cell 38. The increasing conductivity of the element 38 allows a larger amount of current to pass through, as a result of which the excitation of the coil 17 increases until it can balance the load placed on the platform.
The amount of current flowing through the ammeter 41 will therefore be proportional to the load and the pointer 42 will, as a result, directly indicate the weight of the load on the scale 43, which is calibrated according to Ge weight units.
In order to be able to increase the measuring range of the scale, a fixed resistor 75 with a manually operated switch 76 is seen parallel to the ammeter 41. 'According to the embodiment according to FIG. 8, the electron tubes 61, 61.' replaced by gas discharge tubes 61a, 61a ', which have a control grid 61b, 61b'. The main reason for using such Röh ren is the ability to control an almost unlimited force. This made light the application of the device described before on trolleys for weighing very heavy loads.
In the drawing, the two tubes 61a, 61a 'are arranged so that both half-waves of the alternating current are rectified.
The mechanical principles of the balance or weighing device of this embodiment are not changed, only that the parts have been made correspondingly heavier and stronger. A transformer 52a is connected to an electrical power or lighting network 50a. The transformer has two secondary windings 53a and 54a. The lines 56a and 57a lead to the cathodes of the gas discharge tubes.
The anodes of both tubes are connected to the ends of the secondary winding 53a. A line each branches off from the anodes of the tubes, which lines lead via capacitors C, C 'to the terminal of the photoelectric cell 38a. The other terminal K of this cell is connected to the two grids of the tubes. The line 55a connected to the terminal A of the cell 38a and the cathodes of the tubes leads via the display instrument 43a, the instruments 65a, the .Stromspule 17a to the center of the secondary winding of the transformer.
The mode of operation of this device is as follows: A direct current flows through the line 55a, which flows alternately through the lower and upper half of the secondary winding of the transformer 52a. The size of this current is determined by the grid potential of the tubes 61a, 61a ', which latter depends on the activity of the photocell 38a. The photocell 38a is charged via the capacitors C, <B> <I> C </I> </B>, namely, currents flow through the photocell, which start from the anodes of the tubes, via the capacitor C or. C ', photocell, grid 61b or 61b 'flowing to the anode of the tube 61a respectively. 61a 'return.
There are then still further circuits through the photocell 38a, the grid and the cathodes of the tubes 61a and 61a '. The currents in this circuit are changed depending on the amount of light falling on the photocell, and thus also change the amplified direct current flowing through the tubes 61, 61a 'and the line 55a.
It can be seen from the drawing that in this embodiment the potentiometers 62 and 62 'have been omitted and instead an adjustable balancing weight 62a is provided for easy and quick setting of the zero position of the device on the lever 10a.
