Control device for vacuum arc apparatus. The invention relates to a device for controlling vacuum arc devices, for example rectifiers, inverters or the like with U, super-arc and working electrodes upstream. the forward arc blocking grids, in which the electrodes for the purpose of igniting the arc, a potential is imposed that.
the electrode voltage is briefly increased above the required ignition voltage. With devices of this type, the current-carrying anode itself is used for the control instead of the grid upstream of the anode, which was previously used for this purpose. The grid is expediently designed in such a way that it blocks the forward arc by itself without tools, or a corresponding, non-controllable potential is supplied to the grid.
The self-locking effect of the grid can also be increased by applying a constant negative potential to the cathode. The blocking effect of the grid is canceled by briefly raising the anode potential compared to the positive. The value of the phase voltage by applying an additional potential to the anode.
The subject of the invention is a control device in order to raise the potential of the anode that is to ignite briefly and at a certain moment in relation to the phase voltage so that the anode current can begin. In addition, according to the invention, the potential to be pressed onto the anodes is taken from an I -, - 'ondensatorbat- terie, which is periodically connected to the anodes by a switching device at the rate of the frequency of the primary network for a short time and continuously charged to the required ignition potential in the intervals between becomes.
In the drawing, Ausführungsbei games of the invention are shown schematically in Figs. 1 to d.
In the figures, a rectifier with a metal housing is denoted by a, which has the anodes b and the cathode d and which is fed from the alternating current network f via the transformer e ; the direct current network supplied from the (f'Tleichiichter) is denoted by y. The anodes b are assigned grids c, which are built in the immediate vicinity of the anode, possibly in the arc guiding sleeves surrounding the anodes.
The grilles are self-locking; they can be galvanically connected to the metallic .Anode sleeve, or isolated from the sleeve, if the grid is permanently nega tively charged with respect to the cathode. The positive voltage required to ignite the anodes, which raises the anode voltage above the ignition voltage, is taken from the capacitor k, which is charged from the direct current machine i.
The positive coating of the capacitor la is: connected to the anodes b of the rectifier a via a contact device set in rotation synchronously with the frequency of the primary network f.
The contact apparatus consists of a stationary contact part with 12 contacts evenly distributed on a circle p, q and a relative to this rotatable, part n with only one contact o; the axis of the contact apparatus is connected to the positive layer of the capacitor via the damping resistor 1c. Of the 12 contacts of the stationary part of the Kon clock apparatus, the 6 contacts p are connected to each other and to the positive pole: the DC machine i, while the 6 contacts q are connected to the anode leads.
The contacts q are in the spaces between the contacts p.
As soon as the rotating contact o of the contact apparatus is opposite a fier contacts q, the capacitor h discharges on the associated anode, which it holds the required ignition voltage, the forward arc sets in, and:
the anode takes on current until the arc goes out due to the passage of current through zero. D4 in re-ignition of this anode is excluded by the blocking effect of the associated grid. The other anodes are ignited cyclically in accordance with the phase sequence in the same way one after the other.
The ignition point can be set as desired by adjusting the i-thenden part in the contact apparatus by changing the phase position of the capacitor discharge relative to that of the anode. In the pauses between the discharges of the capacitor via the contacts q, it is charged each time via the contacts p.
A hot cathode rectifier r or a mercury vapor light s can easily be used as the charging current source for the capacitor, as indicated in Fig. 2 and 3. It can also easily be used an auxiliary transformer t for tile purpose, as shown in Fig. 4 represents.
The free ends of the six-phase secondary winding in star connection are led to the charging contacts p of the contact apparatus m, 7z, the star point of the secondary winding is at the negative pole of the capacitor. The length of the contacts p, q < / I> is dimensioned in such a way that the contact interruption on the contact apparatus always takes place in a practically de-energized and de-energized state, so that burning,
and wearing out contacts does not occur. To the between. To completely suppress sparks that still occur at the contacts, the contact apparatus can, for example, be housed in a high vacuum room. The drive of the contact apparatus can take place from the outside in a manner known per se by magnetic coupling. To simplify the maintenance of the vacuum, the container with the contact device can be connected to the same high vacuum pump that evacuates the rectifier or inverter.
Finally, the contact device can also be built into a housing with increased gas pressure in order to suppress the sparks at the contacts.
