Werden die Anschlüsse der Klemmen e und f miteinander vertauscht, ist also die Klemme e mit dem Kabel für den Strom lieferer und die Klemme f mit dem Kabel für den Scheinwerfer verbunden, so sind das Rücklicht und der Scheinwerfer beziiglich des Stromlaufes statt wie vorher auf ent gegengesetzten Seiten nun auf gleicher Seite des Widerstandes (nach diesem), und es er liellt ohne weiteres daraus, dass bei Betäti- gung;
.1 device for dimming the vehicle lights and for flashing to be installed in bicycles and motorcycles. Today's headlights on bicycles and motorcycles, which are powered by electricity, sometimes give such a bright light that people approaching or Driving drivers are exposed to constant danger as a result of dazzling.
It is therefore not surprising if the desire is always expressed to a greater extent to also provide for these vehicles, similar to the automobile, means that allow dimming, and in some places the authorities are already busy with binding, legal regulations for the drivers of bicycles and motorcycles. It has also been shown that many vehicle drivers only go to dimming when they are reminded of this in a conspicuous manner by the oncoming vehicle driver and can count on reciprocal rights; this can be achieved by so-called flashing signals.
The subject of the invention is now a device to be attached to the vehicle, through which both dimmed, as well as flashing ge, without making changes to the headlamp itself or the speed of the vehicle equipped with dynamo lighting, for example, would have to be reduced; Relatively few will want to oppose the compulsory introduction of such a device. The stopping down respectively. According to the invention, blinking is achieved by manually actuating a device part, after the short circuit has been lifted, the current can be passed through a resistance in the device; stopping down corresponds to a weakening of the luminous flux.
This training has the advantage that you can assume the highest vehicle speeds when dipped (downhill on bicycles) without having to fear that the light bulb will burn out; this advantage is not to be underestimated.
In order not to have to produce a special device for every level of lighting and the different types of lighting, a so-called standard model can be created. For this purpose, it will be advantageous to firstly make the electrical resistance adjustable so that the same model can be used for bicycles as well as for motorcycles with generally stronger lighting systems, and also provide a connection for the rear light -: that then optionally, if one is available at all, can be connected.
Since it is possible to meet the electrical circuit under the various connection contacts or. to design the rear light connection in such a way that the rear light can also be flashed in order to be able to draw the attention of descendants in a flawless and clearly visible manner.
The device is most conveniently placed on the handlebar of the vehicle, in the area of the handle, so that it can be operated using the thumb, for example, without removing the hand from the handlebar, which also avoids a source of danger here.
In the drawing, an embodiment example of the subject invention, which is provided with a rear light connection, is provided. It shows: FIG. 1 a cross section, FIG. 2 a plan view with the cover removed; Fig. 3 is a circuit diagram with a variant.
The dimming and flashing button shown has a housing with a lower part a and a cover b screwed onto it. The Ge housing is attached to the handlebar of the vehicle by means of two clamping legs c and tightening screw (other types of fastening could also be provided). In the housing part a, a carrier d made of electrically insulating material, for example Dellit, Galalith or Mika, is inserted and sunk on the first rem by means of a central, sunk.
Screw fastened. The carrier d carries the connection terminals e, f and g, the latter for the rear light, that is to say the tail light, also a resistor W connected between the terminals e and f and a bearing block m. for the sliding contact 1. The connection terminals e and f each have a contact lamella at the top, one of which, k., is intended to be moved.
The rear light connection terminal carries a resilient contact element o which, against its spring force, is attached to the connection terminal f q by an eccentric made of non-conducting material of a manually operated rotary lever q protruding from the housing / I> can be pressed. The housing cover b has a hand-operated push button i. on, which acts on the contact blade h. The 'resistor consists expediently of a wire wound, for example, onto a Dellit, advantageously porcelain roller, the ends of which k and r are connected to the terminals e and f </ I> are closed on.
If terminal f is now connected to the cable for the electricity supplier St (dynamo or battery), terminal e to the cable for the headlight Sch and terminal g to the cable for the tail light, the following mode of operation results: In the rest position of the push button and the contact element o pressed on, the current goes on the one hand unattenuated via the short-circuit connection of the contact lamellas from terminal f to terminal e and from here to headlight Sch, which is fully illuminated, and on the other hand via terminal g to the rear light.
If the push button i is now depressed, the short-circuit connection is canceled, and the current to the headlight goes from the terminal f via the connecting wire n to the bearing block na, from this via the sliding contact and, the effective part of the opposing position W to the terminal e and from here to the headlight.
Since a resistor is included in the circuit, the current is weakened and, depending on whether the button is held down for a long time or whether there is a series of push-button operations, the headlight is dimmed or flashing signals are given. The taillight continues to burn practically without being weakened, influenced relatively little by the pulsations.
Should it be against either one or be switched off, respectively. if it is to be flashed finitely, then nian actuates the rotary lever q; the light werferlichi; will remain practically weak.
If the connections of terminals e and f are interchanged, i.e. terminal e is connected to the cable for the electricity supplier and terminal f is connected to the cable for the headlight, the rear light and the headlight are connected to the electrical circuit instead of as before opposite sides now on the same side of the resistance (after this), and it is obvious that when activated;
of the push button, the rear light can be influenced to the same extent as the headlight, that is, the first blinking signals can be sent backwards. In this case the parts p, q need not be present and the connection f-y can be fixed.
In the following some variants of the inventive device are mentioned: First, an embodiment is seen in which the parts for the rear light are missing, so that only the headlight could be influenced by the device.
Furthermore, the resistance need not be adjustable for all cases.
The insulating plate can of course also be missing; In this case, the connection terminals will be made partly from non-conductive material. The housing could also be made of insulating material so that completely metallic clamps can be used.
In the example shown, the resistor is switched on automatically as soon as the short circuit has been removed. Instead, a device is conceivable in which BEZW only by sufficiently far depression of the movable contact element. the push-button connection via the counter was established.
It is clear that .that instead of the push button, a lever for actuating the device can be provided; it is even thought of an embodiment in which the operation by turning BEZW. The lid is turned back and forth. This only needs to be provided, for example, with an approach that interacts with the movable union contact element.
The optional switching on and off of the taillight can also be done with the actuating part i of the contact element, if the former is designed so that it is on a movable connecting piece between the terminal g and the headlight Circuit can act.
It goes without saying that a special resilient contact element which can be influenced by the actuating part i is left out when the latter is formed on the actuating part itself. This contact element, which is firmly connected to the actuating part, would, in the short-circuit position, lie against two contacts connected to terminals e and f.
