In den Zeichnungen -sind Ausführungs- beispie14 der Einrichtung zur Ausführung .des- Verfahrens gemäss der Erfindung dar gestellt, Fig. 1 zeigteine Anordnung, bei der eine Belastung -an eine -Spannun#gsquelle nur in einem YQrbestimmten Punkt-,-der Periode der Wechselspannung gelögt wird; Fig. 2 stellt eine Ausführung der Erfindung bei einem Wechselrichter dar;
Fig. 3 zeigt eine An wendung & r Erfindung bei zwei gitter- gesteuerten Gleiehrichtern, die i M entgegen- g gesetzten Sinne an einen gemeinsamen Be lastungskreis angeschlossen sind; Fig. 4 und 5 zeigen gewisse Wellenfürmen und Arbeits- charakteristiken der in Fig. 3 dargestellten Einrichtung.
Diese Gruppe von Entladungsgefässen weicht hinsichtlich #ä-er'Steuerung ab von,den Gefässen mit kon tinuierlicher Steuerung, deren charakteristi scher Vertreter die Elektronenröhre ist. Bei diesen ist bekanntlich der Momentanwert .des Anoidenstromes durch das Potential der Steuerelektrodebestimmt. Der Gitterkreis der Röhre13 enthält einen Strombegren- zungswiderstand 14, eine negative Vorspan- nung 15 und eine Spannungsquelle, die eine spitz6.Wellenfarin. hat,.;

Kurveb' stellt eine Gitterspannung dar, die annähernd um90 ' der Anodenspan- nune, C nae 'heilt. Bei dieser Bedingung ;
Method and device for grid control of discharge vessels with an ionizable medium. It has already been recognized that for the timely and accurate ignition of grid-controlled vapor or gas discharge vessels, it is important that the grid voltage changes quickly from negative to positive values during ignition,
that is, the change in the grid tension in the time particle in question should be as cross-sectional as possible. This can be achieved, for example, by means of a commutator or by means of a control voltage, the frequency of which is significantly greater than the anode voltage.
If a sinusoidal alternating voltage 'g is used for control, a sufficiently high peak value must be used. However, when using grid-controlled vapor or gas discharge vessels for relay positions, control devices, Wethselrichters and frequency converting, it has been found that
that a sinusoidal grid voltage in many cases means n constraints for the devices. For example, in the case of a grid controlled DC voltage, the DC voltage, i.e. the mean value over time of the instantaneous voltage supplied by the DC link, is increased from its maximum value to its minimum value due to a phase change in the grid voltage of 180 reached.
If you turn the # grid voltage over the 180 ' phase position, then you increase the full voltage again. This remains in the range from 180 to 360 '.
The invention relates to a process and a device for grid control of discharge vessels that avoids these disadvantages. In the method according to the invention, an alternating voltage, pointed waveform is supplied to the circuits of discharge vessels with an ionized medium. This measure makes the working characteristics of many electrical circuits, the discharge vessels, too ionizable medium, improved.
The method can be carried out in such a way that the grid circles are supplied with a voltage composed of a negative direct voltage and an alternating voltage with a sharp waveform, the peak value of the sharp wave being greater than the negative direct voltage.
An alternating voltage is to be understood as an alternating voltage which changes very rapidly from small values to a maximum value and from the maximum value to small values in a small part of the period in relation to the period length .
The ac voltage, pointed waveform can be taken from one of the devices known per se for generating such a waveform, for example a saturated transformer. However, this alternating voltage from a sharp wave farm should preferably be taken from a device which contains a pair of inductive windings, which is fed by a direct current source via a large inductance and two discharge vessels.
In this case, means can be provided that make these tubes conductive alternately, whereby the excitation current of the windings is quickly transferred from one to the other. The alternating voltage is very pointed wave form in a secondary winding. which is inductively coupled to the first two windings.
This device enables the exact point in time within each period of an alternating voltage to be determined from which the current from an energy source is connected. Load circuit is supplied, regardless of the time of the #closing of the switch that puts the load on the source of the voltage. connects ..
In the drawings, exemplary embodiments of the device for executing the method according to the invention are shown, FIG. 1 shows an arrangement in which a load on a voltage source is only determined in one region Point -, - the period of the alternating voltage is logged; Fig. 2 illustrates an embodiment of the invention in an inverter;
FIG. 3 shows an application of the invention in the case of two grid-controlled rectifiers which are connected in opposite directions to a common load circuit; Fig. 4 and 5 show certain wave forms and working characteristics of the device shown in Fig. 3.
In Fig. 1, an exemplary embodiment is shown, -in case, a load circuit 11 can only be connected to a voltage source at a certain point in time within the period of the alternating voltage. This arrangement contains a DC or AC voltage source 10 to which the load circuit 11 is connected via a switch 12 and a discharge vessel 13 .
It is noted that if the criter circuit is changed, the switch 12 can also be inserted into the grid circle instead of in the anode circuit. The discharge vessel provided with an electrode, cathode and control electrode should preferably be a vapor discharge vessel or another discharge vessel with discontinuous control.
The term "discharge vessel with discontinuous control" is intended to mean those discharge vessels in which the initiation of the discharge in the vessel is determined by the excitation of a control electrode, but the current in the vessel is only interrupted can if the anode stress sinks below its -critical value.
This group of discharge vessels differs in terms of control from the vessels with continuous control, the characteristic representative of which is the electron tube. In these, as is known, the instantaneous value of the anoid current is determined by the potential of the control electrode. The grid circle of the tube 13 contains a current limiting resistor 14, a negative bias voltage 15 and a voltage source that has a pointed 6th wave farin. Has,.;
represented by the secondary winding 1,6. of the transformer 17. The alternating voltage #spitzer waveform can be generated by means of known devices, to </ B > Example using DC magnetized or saturated core coils or transformers. Advantageously, this AC voltage is generated by the above-mentioned special device.
The device shown for generating an alternating voltage with a sharp wave shape contains an equilibrium source 18 which has a large inductance 19 feeds inductive windings 20 and 21 via discharge vessels 222 and 23 .
The windings 20 and 21 are shown as primary windings of a transformer, but the windings can also form separate angular transformers or parts of a single inductive winding with a center tap. which are inductively verkeitel with a secondary winding 16 . The vessels 22 and 23 are preferably electron tubes with a control grid.
The grid circles of the tubes 22 and 23 contain a negative voltage battery 26 a current limiting resistor 27 and each one half of the secondary winding 24 of a transformer 25. The primary winding 28 of the transformer 25 is made up of the rotor winding 29 a rotary transformer 30 which is connected to a three-phase system 31 or by another suitable phase-rotating device.
For the purpose of explaining the operation of the arrangement described above, we assume that the alternating circuit 31 is excited , and that it is desired that current from the voltage source 10 the load circuit 11 is only supplied from a certain point in time (phase position) within each period of the alternating voltage of circuit 31 , regardless of the Time at which switch 1.2 is closed.
With an alternating voltage of the wave form, as it is supplied by the secondary winding 16 , the grid or vessel 13 will only have positive potential for a short time if the positive peak value is greater than the negative bias voltage 15 , which can only be during a few electrical degrees, so that, regardless of whether the switch 12 is closed, the discharge vessel 13 < / B> does not become conductive until the next positive peak of the AC voltage occurs.
The point in time within the period of the alternating voltage of the circuit 31 at which the positive peak value occurs depends on the position of the rotor 29 , which is set in a suitable manner can.
The above-described generator for generating an alternating voltage with a sharp waveform works as follows: We assume that the vessel 22 first becomes conductive by applying a positive voltage to the grid. Current is then -from the voltage coil 18 via the choke coil 19 the weight 20 of the transformer 17 and the vessel 22 flow. At the beginning of the next half-wave, the grid of the discharge vessel 2-3 will receive a positive voltage and at the same time the grid of the vessel 2.2 will become negative.
The amplitude of the grid voltage - of the transformer 25 must be sufficient to significantly overexcite the tubes 22 and 23, that is to say the tubes 22 and 23 > work beyond the saturation limit, so that the change from the maximum value to the minimum value, the resistance of the tube, occurs within a few electrical degrees.
This has the consequence that the sirom in the vessel 22 is immediately interrupted. The inductance of the choke coil 19 is very large in relation to the core of the transformer windings 20 and 21, so that the current drawn from the voltage source 18 remains essentially constant .
Since the discharge vessel 22 now practically represents an infinitely large impedance for the current flow, the current from the voltage source 18 is transferred almost instantly from the winding 20 to the winding 2.1.
-This results in a very rapid change in flux in the leg of the transformer 17. This rapid change in flux results in a very high S near a sharp waveform in p z2 </ B>, the secondary winding 16. If this arrangement is used, it is only necessary that the voltage source 18 supplies the magnetizing current for the transformer 17 </ B> delivers,
whereas in the case of a saturated transformer, significant energy losses would result from the saturation winding. It is evident that the phase of the grid voltage 22 and 23 can be changed by changing the position of the rotor winding 29 of the transformer 30 . This phase change, the grid voltage, causes a corresponding change in the phase of the voltage taken from the secondary winding 16 of the transformer for- tor 17 .
In FIG. 2, the method according to the invention is applied to an inverter in a row arrangement, which converts the direct current of the network 40 into alternating currents for the network 41. The inverter contains a capacity 42, the vo-in direct current circuit 40 via the series connected consumer 41, the tube 47 and the left half of the choke "ule 43 is charged, namely- the consumer 41 is indirectly through the Transformer 45 inserted into this series connection.
The discharge circuit, the capacitance 42 ordered from the right part of the choke coil 43, the discharge vessel 48 and the primary winding 44 of the transformer 45. The vessels 47 and 48 contain a control electrode and are preferably filled with steam or gas. In the lattice circles of the vessels 47 and 48 current limiting resistors 49 respectively. -53, a nea # ative preload battery, 50 resp. 54 and the secondary wiekluna- 51 respectively. 55 of a grid transformer 52 inserted.
The primary winding of this transformer is fed by a -strum source 58 . The generation of circle 58 generates a voltage with a sharp waveform, for example in a manner similar to that in FIG. 1
For a better understanding of the working method, let us first assume that a sinusoidal alternating voltage feeds the circuit 58 and that the # switch 57 selects the second part Half-wave is closed, which supplies a positive voltage to the grid of the tube 47. Then a charging current from the DC voltage 40 will flow through the choke 43 and will quickly build up an approximate sine wave.
However, C under the assumed conditions, the grid voltage will change its polarity in a time that is less than a quarter period and a positive voltage will be applied to the grid of the tube 48, making it conductive. Since a large current will still flow through tube 47, both tubes will be conductive and the direct current circuit will be short-circuited by choke coil 43 and tubes 47 and 48.
We now assume that a voltage with a sharp waveform feeds the circle 58 , then the tubes 47 only become conductive when the positive, pointed peak value is greater than the negative bias voltage - the C < / B> Batteries 50 and 54, so that each vessel can only become conductive for a very short time particle within each period, and the times during which these tubes become conductive follow at intervals of a full half-wave,
so that switch 57 can be closed at any time. C As before we assume that the first sharp wave is positive with respect to the anode voltage of the tubes 47, so that it becomes conductive. The current drawn from the direct current circuit 40 will charge the capacitor 42 and thereby rise up to a maximum value and then decrease to the extent that the charge, the capacitance 42, increases.
The charging current follows an approximate sinusoidal shape. The capacitance 42 and the choke coil 43 is measured so that the natural frequency of this Sellwincrungskreises C C is approximately equal to the frequency of the alternating voltage of the circuit 58 . When the grid voltage reverses its polarity, the tube 48 becomes conductive and the capacitance 42 immediately begins to discharge through the right part of the choke coil 43, the tube 48 and .die primary wieklunu 44.
This current flow through the right part of the Dros selspule 43 induces a voltage in the left part, which is directed opposite to the charging voltage of the capacitance 42. Since the capacitance 42 is almost completely charged, so that the difference between this voltage and the DC voltage 40 is small, the voltage induced in the left part of the choke coil 43 will be much greater than the residual voltage and directed in the opposite direction, so that the small current still flowing through the tube 47 is immediately interrupted. It's closed. recognize that it is impossible to short-circuit the direct current source 40 through the vessels 47 and 48.
In FIG. 3, the invention is applied to a conversion device which contains two equal liters A and B, the energy from an alternating voltage source 60 to one common direct current load, which is shown as a DC motor 61 for example, supplies.
The rectifier A contains a transformer 62 whose primary winding is connected to the alternating voltage 60 and discharge vessels -63 and 64, preferably Vapor drainage vessels. contains in two-way circuit.
A grid circle is provided for each vessel and contains a current limiting resistor 65 a bias voltage 66 and each one half of the secondary winding 67 </ B> of a grid transformer 68. The primary winding 69 of this grid transformer is replaced by the secondary winding 70 of a torque transformer 71 fed "which in turn is excited by a three-phase system 72 .
Between the windings 69 and 70 there is a device 73 for converting a sinusoidal alternating

The two identical rings A and B are constructed in the same way, but they are arranged in opposite directions in relation to the consumer, the direct current motor 61, , that is, they lead to the consumer electricity in different directions.
In the same way as with the rectifier _A , the primary winding 81 of the grid transformer 80 is connected to the secondary winding 82 of a rotary transformer 83 , which in turn is fed by the three-phase system 72 , whose frequency is appropriately synchronized with the frequency of the network 60 .
A device 84 similar to device 73 is inserted between windings 82 and 81 for the purpose of converting the sinusoidal alternating voltage into such a pointed waveform. The secondary windings 70 and 82 are mechanically coupled via a gear 85 so that they can be rotated in opposite directions at the same time. - </ B> In general, each of the rectifiers _A and B works in a manner known per se.
If the alternating voltages supplied to the grids of the vessels 63 and 64, which are initially assumed to be sinusoidal, are in phase with the anode voltages of these vessels, then in the successive half waves of the alternating current there is alternating current flow through the vessels 63 and 64, and the rectifier will feed the maximum DC voltage to the motor 61 .
If the alternating voltage that is fed to the grids is now shifted in such a way that it lags behind the anode voltage, the vessels only become conductive some time later, so that current through each discharge vessel during just one - Part of the half-wave flows and the voltage supplied by the person in the same direction decreases. The voltage decreases as the phase shift increases until the grid voltage is exactly in phase opposition to the anode voltage.
At this point in time the output voltage of the rectifier becomes zero. It is noted, however, that when the phase rotation grows over 180 ' the positive half-wave of the grid voltage slightly overlaps the next following half-wave of the anode voltage, so that during the subsequent 18011 the phase rotation ', the discharge vessels are conductive during the entire half-wave.
The rectifier then delivers the maximum. This can be seen perfectly clearly from diagram I and IT in FIG. 4. In diagram I, curves a represent the positive half-waves of the anode voltage of one vessel, curve as a function of time t B> b represents the corresponding grid voltage when in phase with & r Ano # dQnspannung. Then both grid and anode voltage will be positive at the same time, and the tube will conduct current during the corresponding half-waves.
Curve b ' represents a grid voltage that heals approximately 90' of the anode voltage, C nae '. With this condition;
The tubes only become conductive when the peak value of the positive anoid alternating voltage is reached and only half of the corresponding half-waves of the alternating current are rectified through these tubes. Curve b "represents the grid voltage with a phase shift of more than 180 '. With such a phase shift, the grid of the discharge vessel is positive at the beginning of each half-wave of the positive anode voltage,
so that the tube is conductive during the full half-waves. Curve c in diagram Ii represents the DC voltage of the rectifier, which leaves the fourth time average value of the instantaneous voltage supplied by the rectifier as a function of a lagging angle α of the phase shift between the grid and anadens voltage. It can be seen
that during successive half-waves the rectifier delivers maximum voltage and the grid is not controlled during this period. It would therefore not be - possible to bring about a r'Lc-htio, e control of the oppositely connected rectifiers A and B, because both would at least for a part of their output voltage must be conductinga at the same time, and, since they are connected opposite to C, this would mean an artificial short circuit.
In diagram III of FIG. 4, a characteristic curve of the grid voltage is shown, as it is used according to the invention. In this diagram, curve a represents the positive half-waves of the ano-other voltage as in diagram I. The curve < B> d represents an alternating voltage of a sharp waveform, while the straight line e represents the displacement of the zero line by the negative grid voltage of the grid circles. The hatched parts f represent the positive pulses of the grid voltage.
Curve d , taking into account c of curve e 4i-e, gives condition in which these positive pulses determine the onset of the discharge, the temporal position of the positive pulses is moderate giving for the control.
If the impulse occurs when: the anolar voltage is just going positive, every discharge vessel -wälirend. Of the corresponding half-wave is conductive and the DC liter supplies the greatest possible voltage. The curve d ' represents the Graph of the grid voltage when; the pulse occurs at a phase position of about 90 ' of the anode voltage.
Then, when the peak value of the positive anode voltage is reached, each discharge vessel becomes conductive and each rectifier tube becomes. only during. supply electricity to half of the corresponding shark wave Jes alternating current. It can be seen that if the timing of the pulse is changed to within a range of 180 'or less, the characteristics of the rectifier are the same regardless of the type Excitation -used.
If, however, the pulse of the grid voltage lags behind the anode voltage by more than 180 ', the positive pulses will fall in the range of negative half-waves of the anode voltage and so will the vessels do not supply electricity.
Therefore, if the grid voltage occurs between 180 and 360 ' when there is a plias voltage, the anode voltage is detected in the discharge vessels always be non-conductive and the rectifier do not carry any current. The rectifier fr. With this type of DC voltage supplied b excitation is shown by curve 9 in Figure IV.
The characteristic just described is used in the arrangement in FIG. 3. The grid and anode voltages of the two DC liters A and B have opposite phase relationships, so that one rectifier is only conductive during the first 180 'phase surge, while the second rectifier is only conductive during the phase rotation second half-wave of the food exchange voltage is conductive.
Furthermore, the grid voltages are simultaneously shifted in phase in opposite directions so that; a steady change in the DC voltage from zero to the maximum in each direction takes place instead of a decrease from maximum to minimum in one direction and a sudden increase - (Irish to maximum in the other direction) -. Such a regulation would occur if the grid voltages were shifted in the same Rielitun, - ".
In Schaubilff V of Fig. 5, the curves a represent the positive half-waves of the anode voltage of one vessel of the rectifier, while the curves a 'represent the other half-waves of the charge voltage of a corresponding vessel of the other rectifier represent. The hatched parts f and f ' represent the positive pulses of the grid voltages of the two rectifiers. As shown in this diagram, the grid voltages are completely out of phase with the anode voltages so that no gallon of equilibrium supplies electricity.
Since the phases of the grid voltages of the two rectifiers are rotated in opposite directions, the abscissas of the graphs are from Ab # b. 5 in parts of the period of the grid phase relation of one of the rectifiers, for example Gleiehrieliter A, .
Since the grid voltages are phase-shifted in opposite directions, the grid voltages d ' in the curves of illustration VI are only slightly more than 90' and the grid voltage of the other rectifier, represented by the curve d ', -is turned back by a corresponding angle, as shown.
With this phase position - the rectifier A at the time y is conductive, while the rectifier B 'is not conductive - and the positive pulses of the grid voltage of this rectifier -only occur during the negative half-waves of the anode voltage.
The curves in diagram VII result in the opposite conditions, that is, the pulse of the grid span nuno, d ' of rectifier B is turned forward by a little more than 90,' and the Lattice spacing of aligner A rotated back by an appropriate angle.
The mean voltage of the equalizer unit is shown in Figure VIII. This can be seen that -during a full extent of the phase rotation of the grid, the mean output voltage of the rectifier arrangement can be changed from a maximum of one direction to zero and then to a maximum in the opposite direction.
In the diagram above, the output voltage of a single tube of the rectifier is shown, but since the output voltage of each tube is the same for a given angle of the grid phase deviation, the above diagram gives the characteristics of the whole Establishment again.
The exemplary embodiments shown here are only intended to clarify the mode of operation of the measures according to the invention. They are in no way intended to limit # the invention for the stated purposes. The application of the proposed measures is recommended in all cases in which phase-correct switching is required or at least desired, for example when starting and switching off or when connecting several circuits in parallel with grid-controlled steam or gas discharge vessels.
