Cooling device for impeller blades of an explosion turbine. The invention has for its object a cooling device for a impeller of a explosion turbine.
According to the invention, this device is charac terized by the fact that at least one circuit traversed by a constantly re-new air current: 4 established at, through Mowing, in the or zone # 1, empty of engine gas.
In a preferred embodiment, the established air circuit has its inlet ports towards the center of the casing (the wheel and its outlet ports towards the periphery, facing the 'aubaoe, while radial fins are mounted on the hub of the wheel to allow the flow of air between said inlet and outlet ports.
The appended drawing shows, to by way of example, a preferred embodiment of the positive device, object of the invention.
Fig. 1 is a vertical diametral section of the bladed wheel with its housing; Fig. 2 is a front view - Fig. 3 is a cut of the following detail. in A-A of fig. 1.
As can be seen in the drawing, the paddle wheel 1 & its hub 2, rotating with the or- ber 3, provided with radial fins 4, from the bottom to forming a centrifugal fan inside the housing 5. </ B>
This one is provided on its two faces, towards the center, in the vicinity of the passage of the shaft 'a, with air inlet openings 6 in the number of six on each face , facing the origin of the fins 4.
'On the other hand, on one of its faces, the casing has two bulges 7 which each form an interior chamber 8, on one side of the blading, while on the other side is provided on the housing a boss 9 with a large outlet opening 10.
We know that, in a operating turbine, the driving gases are brought to the blade, then discharged after a certain determined path so that the The action of the expansion of the gases can be taken completely by the vanes, this path embracing a large part of the moving vane in which, therefore, it is impossible to pass the cooling air.
Each chamber 8, with the orifice 10 in view, is therefore placed in the zone where the blade is empty of driving gases.
The number of chambers 8, equal to that of orifices 10, depends on the number of gas distribution groups operating the. wheel with, blades.
Thus, if the motor system of the paddle wheel is equivalent to a two-stroke engine, which distributes the explosion gases at the wheel by two groups, of de-iribution chambers DE, D '# --- E', there are two gas-empty areas and, consequently, two chambers are advantageously provided < B> 8 and two orifices. 10, diametrically opposite (fig. 2).
The operation of the cooling device is as follows: When the wheel is set in motion, the air in contact with the fins 4 is expelled towards the periphery of the wheel by the action of centrifugal force, passes through the blade and exits through the ports 10. In a cone, a partial vacuum occurs in the center of the crankcase. so that the exterior is sucked in through the openings 6 and continuously replaces what is expelled.
Therefore, as soon as the wheel turns, a constant current of air is established between the ports 6 and. 10 and cools the Faubagge.
The air leaving at 10 can return directly to the atmosphere, or else be directed on the walls of the distributors D-E, D - E ', to cool them. This air can also be used to supercharge the carburetor (s).
