Schmelzsicherung.
Fuse. The invention relates to a Schmelzsiche tion against overcurrent with a movable switching part, which when reaching or exceeding a maximum current strength by responding to a Schmelzplätt Chens performs a switching movement, while the melting plate introduced into the path of the movable switching part holds the switching part in its normal position.
According to the invention, the fuse has two easily detachably interconnected main parts, one of which contains the movable switching part and the other the loosely inserted melting plate, so that the melting plate when the two parts of the fuse are assembled against the movable switching part and this Brings to the normal position without any special handling.
One part of the fuse can consist of a sleeve that contains a spring loaded pin surrounded by a heating coil, while the second part is formed by a cap connected to the sleeve by a bayonet lock or the like, which has a Contains insulating ring as an abutment for receiving the melting plate.
The support or abutment of the melting plate can also be formed by a tube carrying the heating coil, the edge of which interacts with the edge of a pin forming the switching part in such a way that when the melting plate softens, a piece of the same bounded by the tube is punched out.
The pen under the pressure of a spring is expediently in a sleeve, electrically isolated from the same, slidably mounted, while the tube and the heating coil are housed in an easily detachable with the sleeve which cap is housed, which cap is also the conductive connection between your one Manufactures the end of the heating coil and the sleeve. A hood-like extension of the cap can be provided to accommodate the parts of the melting platelet that are punched out when the fuse is activated.
The material used for the melting platelets is advantageously a metal alloy whose softening point is at least 8 lower than its melting point.
In the drawing, the subject of the invention is shown in section in an exemplary embodiment as a so-called heat roller fuse, as it is used in automatic telephone systems. Fig. 1 shows an embodiment with a heated pen, while Fig. 2 shows an embodiment with a heated tube.
A cartridge-shaped metal sleeve 1, Fig. 1, is axially through a metal pin 2 and both parts are isolated from each other by a sleeve 3 made of Isolierma material from each other by an inserted into the sleeve. The pin 2, which can be made of a drawn copper wire, firmly carries a disc 4 made of insulating material, which can slide easily in the sleeve 1. A helical spring 5 is located between this small plate 4 and the bush 3. The pin 2 also carries an insulating plate 6 which is provided with a highly conductive metallic ring 7.
Between the two plates 4 and 6, the heating winding 8 made of resistance wire is wound on the pin 2, one end of which is connected to pin 2, but the other is conductively connected to the ring 7. The part of the sleeve 1 which receives the plate 6 is provided with mutually shaped recesses 9 in order to be able to conductively connect the sleeve to the ring 7. A cap 10 provided with a central hole can be pushed onto the sleeve 1 and attached to it by means of a bayonet connection or in another easily detachable manner. In this cap 10, an insulating ring 11 is used, which has a conically drawn rim to accommodate the melting plate 12 centrally.
The plate is held in place by the end of the pin 2, which under the pressure of the Fe of 5 is firmly attached to the same. By means of the spring 15 and a metal ring 13 with a nose 14 inserted between the sleeve 1 and sleeve 3, the fuse is switched on in the circuit. 16 denotes a contact spring which, after melting through the fuse, approximately 12 comes into contact with the pin 2; which is illustrated by the dotted extensions of the pin 2.
The mode of operation of the fuse is as follows: The current flowing through the fuse passes from the spring 15 through the copper pin 2 into the heating coil 8 made of braided resistance wire and through the same to the ring 7. From this ring, the current passes through the tongues 9 in the sleeve 1 and is connected to the line via the metal ring 13 with the nose 14. When the current increases in an unacceptable manner, the copper pin '2 is heated by the heating coil until it is able to pierce the same by softening the melting plate 12, whereupon the pin 2 shoots out of the cap 10 under the pressure of the spring 5 and onto the Contact spring 16 abuts, as illustrated by the dotted extension of pin 2.
As a result of this movement of the pin, the heating coil 8 is de-energized and the pin 2 establishes a connection with the earthed contact 16, which indicates that the fuse has blown through a signal device connected to the earth line, which can work optically or acoustically.
In the embodiment shown in Fig. 2, the fuse consists of a cylin drical metal sleeve 17 which is retracted at one end. The open end is covered with a metallic cap 18 which is easily detachably connected to the sleeve 17 by a bayonet lock 19 or in another way. In the sleeve 17, a displaceable pin 20 is mounted isolated from this, which is guided by two plates 21 and 22 made of insulating material inserted into the sleeve 17. A coil spring 23, which is supported on the one hand on the insulating plate 21, on the other hand on a collar 24 of the pin 20, seeks to press the pin 20 against the cap 18.
In the cap 18, a metal tube 27 is inserted by means of discs 26 and 26 made of insulating material, the inside diameter of which corresponds to the strength of the pin 20, and the end of this pin receives when the pin 20 is pressed against the cap 18 by the spring 23. The edges of the pin 20 and those of the tube 27 work together like a scissors like a punch. One washer 25 is designed to receive the hedging plate 28 cup-shaped. The tube 27 carries the heating coil 29, one wire end of which is conductively connected to the tube 27 and the other end to the cap 18 and thus also to the sleeve 17.
The cap 18 has a hood-like extension 30 with an opening 31 for receiving or removing the punched parts of the fuse plate 28. A lug 32 provided on the sleeve 17 is used to fasten the fuse in its armature.
The current to be secured enters "the end of the pin 20 by means of a switching spring (not shown), which end protrudes correspondingly far because its other end rests on the fuse plate. The current passes through the pin through the fuse plate into the tube 27" B> and from there through the turns of the heating winding 29 into the cap 18 or the sleeve 17.
As a result of the heating of the tube 27, the fuse plate 28, which lies on the edge of the same and is pressed by the spring pressure pin 20, consists of an easily meltable metal alloy that softens a few degrees, that is at least 8 before its melting point , heated to the extent that a plate from the cross-section of the pin 20 is punched out of the securing plate 28 without melting, which is pushed by the movement of the pin 20 into the hood 30, from which it can be removed through the opening 31.
This hood prevents the punched-out parts from getting lost and possibly causing short circuits or other malfunctions on the apparatus in which the fuses are inserted. The rebound to the pin 20 interrupts the current between its contact end and the associated switching spring.
Since, as already mentioned, small plates are blanked out of the safety plate without melting the material, no contamination or soldering by molten metal can occur and the safety device can be used again without further ado after inserting a new safety plate .
