Lockable assembly device formed by at least two nuts and a threaded rod. The subject of the present invention is a non-removable assembly device formed of at least two nuts and a threaded rod. This device is characterized in that the rod has two threads in opposite directions which intersect and correspond to opposite threads of the two nuta.
The appended drawing represents, by way of example, two embodiments of the object of the invention, the first of which is represented by FIG. 1 and the second partially by FIGS. 2 and 3. FIG. 4 shows a detail common to both forms.
Two nuts 1 and 2 are mounted on a threaded rod 3 and separated by a washer 4 slit obliquely at 5 and warped so as to form roughly a right-hand helix turn. The rod 3 of uniform diameter has two threads &, and 3b of opposite directions which intersect. Nut 2 is threaded "right" and nut 1 "left".
In the second embodiment, the nut V has a recess 14 with a truncated periphery, while the nut 2 'has projecting on one of its faces a frustoconical part 13 intended to penetrate into the recess 14. .
With the two embodiments, a connection without play is ensured between the two nuts, the tightening force applied to one of the nuts causing, between the two nuts themselves or between them and the intermediate parts, forces of friction and blocking which must be overcome before any loosening can occur.
In the case of fig. 1, the elasticity of the washer described, which is none other than a ron delle Grover, obviously presses the threads of the elements into each other, constituting an additional frictional force, which is added to that due to the contact of the nut on the locknut, but the use of this washer with two threaded nuts in verses on a threaded rod of uniform diameter makes it possible to make said nuts which are locked in rotation without play, the washer being warped like a screw on the right, that is to say in the direction compatible with the direction of the inclination of the slot, its jaws 4.
and 4b tend to penetrate the metal when loosening the two nuts on the rod; it follows that the hooking of the nozzles takes place automatically as soon as the nut 1 tends to turn to the right or the nut 2 to the left and no movement of the two nuts with respect to each other is permitted. The solidarity of the two parts is achieved solidly by the penetration of the nozzles, and consequently the resistance which the system presents to loosening, increases in value with the presence of shocks or vibrations.
This device has the further advantage of being simple, without any nut preparation, and, with an ordinary Grover washer, disassembly is easy.
In fig. 2 and 3, one of the elements to be blocked is surmounted by a male conical part 13 which, when tightening, becomes wedged in a female conical part 14 of the other element.
The taper of parts 13 and 14 will preferably be close to the limiting friction angle (7 to 5 for steel). This less effective locking nut system only involves additional frictional forces which will be established in relation to the nature of the surfaces in contact.
