Refrigeration system in which ice that has precipitated on the evaporator is thawed by spraying with water. In refrigeration systems, the problem arises that ice forms on the outer walls of the evaporator, which over time can become very thick. As a result, the passage of air is blocked and the heat exchange between the refrigerant and the air in the room to be cooled is inhibited. Both affect the efficiency of the system. For the purpose of thawing the precipitated ice on the evaporator, it is already known to spray the United evaporator with water.
Up to now, the inflow of this water was controlled by manually operated valves. In contrast, according to the present invention, a shut-off device controlling the inflow of the defrosting water is automatically opened at least before starting the drive machine of the system and automatically closed again after a certain period of time has elapsed.
In this case, the shut-off device governing the inflow of the defrosting water can be connected to an automatic starting device for the drive machine of the system in such a way that the shut-off device for the defrosting water remains open for a definable time before the machine is started Starting the machine is closed again automatically.
In the drawing, an embodiment of the invention is exemplified and illustrated schematically. In the figure be 1 denotes the drive motor of a compressor 2 of the refrigeration system, which sucks the vapors of the refrigerant through a line 3 from an evaporator = 1 and presses 6 through a line 5 into a liquefier. 7 is a pressure reducing valve which is installed in a line 8 connecting the condenser 6 to the evaporator 4.
The cooling water flows to the condenser 6 through a line 9 into which a shut-off device 10 is installed, while the heated water flows through a line 11. The outflowing cooling water influences the position of a mercury toggle switch 12, which in turn controls the flow of electric current to the drive motor 1.
Above the evaporator 4, a distribution device 13 for spray water is seen, the latter serving to defrost the ice forming on the evaporator 4. A shut-off device 15 is installed in a line 11 connecting the distribution device 13 to the cooling water supply line 9.
The actuation of the shut-off devices 10, 15 takes place electrically, to wel chem Behufe the device 10 via an electrical line 16 at 17 to an electrical main line 18 and an electrical line 19 to a contact 20 is closed. The shut-off device 15 is connected via the electrical lines 21, 16 also at 17 to the main line 18 and via an electrical line 23 to a contact 24, with which a relay armature 25 under the action of an energized relay <B> '227 </ B> brought into contact.
In the de-energized state of the relay \? 7, a spring 26 holds the armature 25 in contact with a contact 27 '. A device (not shown), a so-called Minutery, is able to automatically connect the armature 25, which is in contact with the contact 24 ', to this contact 24 after an arbitrarily adjustable period of time, except and again to the contact <B> 27'. </B> to bring into contact. The relay 27 is connected to an electrical line 29 which is closed at one end to a relay armature 30, and at the other end to a relay armature 31.
The two armatures 30, 31 are under the influence of a relay 33 which, when excited, brings the armature 30 into contact with the contact 20, while the armature 31 is then out of contact with a longitudinal contact 34 and therefore with a contact 35 is brought into contact. The coil of the relay 33 is connected at 37 via a line 36 to the main line 18. 40 denotes a 'contact thermometer which is exposed to the cold room temperature.
An upper con tact of this thermometer 40 is connected via a line 41 to the coil of the relay 33 and via part of this line 41 and a line 42 to the contact 34, while a lower contact of the thermometer 40 via a line 38 to the Line 1.6 is connected. A line 43 connects the line 29 to the contact 271, and a line 39 electrically connects the relay armature 25 to the main line 18.
The V # @ Tirl @ ure of the system described is as follows: As long as the cooling chamber temperature acting on the thermometer 40 does not exceed a fixed temperature, that is, the mercury does not reach the upper thermometer contact, the motor 1 stands still and it takes the toggle switch 12, the relay armature 25, and the armature 30, 31 from the position shown in the picture. When the mercury reaches the upper contact of the thermometer 40, a current of 17 flows through part of the line 16, the line 38.
the mercury of the thermometer 40 and the coil of the relay 33, as well as the line 36 back to the main line 18. This current causes the relay 33 to be excited. At the same time, current also flows from the line 41 .through the line 42 to the contact 34 and from this through the armature 31, the lines 29, 43, the relay armature 2'5 and the line 39 back to the main line 18. This current causes an excitation of the relay 27. The elongated contact 34 is now dimensioned so that the relay 27 brings the armature 25 into contact with the contact 24 before the armature 31 comes out of contact with the contact 34.
It is thus initially the relay armature 2.5 brought into contact with the contact 2-1 and then the armature 30 with the contact 20 and the armature 31 with the contact 35. This requires de-energization of the relay 27 and an actuation the shut-off device 15 in the sense of opening, by now a current of 17 through the line 16 to the electrical actuation device of the device 15 and from this through the line 23, contact 24, anchor 25 and line 39 to the main line 18 flows. Spray water now trickles over the evaporator 4, which causes the ice present on the same to thaw.
After a predetermined period of time has elapsed, the mentioned, not shown, minute scale causes the relay armature 25 to come into contact with the contact 27 'again, which causes the circuit at contact 24 to undercut the circuit in which the shut-off device 15 is - Acting device is arranged. The flow of water through line 1-l: is therefore blocked again.
On the other hand, an electric current of 1.7 now flows through line 16 to .der the shut-off device 10 actuating device and from this through line 19, contact 20, armature 30, line 43, relay armature 25 and line 39 back to the main line 18. The shut-off device 10 is now the flow of the cooling water through the line 9, what an operation of the toggle switch 12 in the sense of starting the engine 1 be caused. Cold is now being generated so that the temperature in the refrigerator compartment begins to drop.
As soon as the mercury comes out of contact with the upper contact of the thermometer 40, the relay 33 is de-energized like that, whereupon the various parts are caused to assume the position shown in the figure.
In the system described, the shut-off device 15 that governs the inflow of the defrosting water is connected to the automatic starting device 33, 12 for the drive machine 1 of the refrigeration system in such a way that the shut-off device 15 lasts for a definable time before the engine 1 is started remains open and is actively closed again when the machine 1 is started.
If desired, it can be ensured that the shut-off device 15 is automatically opened even after the engine 1 has been switched off, in order then to be automatically closed again after a definable period of time.
Furthermore, a middle contact can be provided in connection with the thermometer 40 in order to ensure that the relay 33 only becomes de-energized after the mercury comes out of contact with this middle contact and is only excited again after the mercury with the comes into contact with the topmost contact.
The various electrical Schaltein directions and the functional connection between the shut-off device 15 and the automatic starting device for the Mo tor 1 can also be designed differently than shown. It is only irrelevant that the blocking device 15 is automatically opened at least before the motor 1 is started and is automatically closed again after a definable period of time.
