Ferraris relay based on the resonance principle. The invention relates to a Ferraris relay built according to the resonance principle, which is characterized in particular by great selectivity and good efficiency. According to the invention, two resonance circuits that are matched to the response frequency and coupled with one another are provided for the generation of the phase-shifted drive fluxes causing the formation of the torque.
The two resonance circuits of the Ferrari relay can be made up of either a series resonance circuit connected to a superimposed network and a secondary resonance circuit inductively coupled to this, or a series resonance circuit and a parallel resonance circuit, both of which are connected in series to the superimposed network .
In the first case, the excitation coil of the series resonance circuit can expediently be arranged on a return leg and the excitation coil of the secondary resonance circuit on one pole leg of a drive iron provided with two pole legs.
In the latter case, the excitation coil of the series resonance circuit can be arranged on one pole leg and the excitation coil of the parallel resonance circuit on the other pole leg of a drive iron provided with two pole legs and one return leg.
In the drawing, two embodiments of the invention are shown in FIGS. 1 and 2.
The Ferraiis relay shown schematically in FIG. 1 contains a drive iron 1, which has two pole legs 2, 3 and a RÜCkSChlnss- leg 4. In the air gap 5 formed by the pole legs 2, 3 and the yoke leg 4, a drive pulley 6 is arranged. Two resonance circuits 7, 8 are provided, one of which forms a series resonance circuit to be connected to the network and the other forms a secondary circuit which is inductively coupled to this. Both Re resonance circuits 7, 8 contain a capacitor 9, 10 and a coil 11, 12.
Here, the coil 11 of the series resonance circuit 7 is placed around the return iron 4 and the coil 12 of the secondary resonance circuit 8 around the pole leg 2.
The magnetic flux leading through the pole leg 3 of the drive iron 1 is now essentially in phase with the current Ji flowing through the coil 11 of the series resonance circuit 7. On the other hand, if one disregards the disk and iron leakage currents, the magnetic flux conducted through the pole leg 2 is in phase with the resulting ampere turns of the currents J1 and Js.
For the formation of a favorable phase angle between the magnetic flux leading through the pole leg 2 and the magnetic flux leading through the pole leg 3 and to achieve the largest possible magnetic flux determined by the secondary resonance circuit 8, it is not necessary, however, to use the secondary resonance circuit 8 agree exactly on response. The best conditions for reaching a maximum torque at Ge ben the response frequency should probably be most expediently determined experimentally by changing the capacitance of the capacitor 10 at a constant current J1.
After tuning the secondary resonance circuit 8, when giving the response frequency while keeping the voltage constant, to maximum current Ji respectively. matched maximum torque.
When the response frequency is given, the size and phase relationship of the drive flows are such that a maximum torque is exerted on the drive pulley 6. The tangential force acting on the disc 6 then acts in the direction from the pole of the leg 3 to the pole of the leg 2. When the coil 12 of the secondary resonance circuit 8 is arranged around the pole leg 3, the drive disc 6 rotates in the opposite direction than before . The direction of winding of the coil 12 of the secondary resonance circuit has no influence on the direction of rotation of the drive pulley 6.
It is of course not absolutely neces sary to bring about the phase shift between the two required drive flows by a secondary current. To achieve the intended purpose, it is also possible to use a circuit arrangement as shown schematically in FIG. Here, the drive iron 1 again has two pole legs 2, 3 and a return leg 4. The coil 11 of a series resonance circuit 7 is now placed around the pole leg 2 and the coil 12 of a parallel resonance circuit 8 is placed around the leg 3.
The capacitors of the two resonance circuits 7, 8 are in turn denoted by 8 and 10. The series resonance circuit 7 and the parallel resonance circuit 8, both of which are tuned to the same response frequency, are also connected in series with a superimposed network. So here the coil 11 with your Kon capacitor 9 forms a voltage resonance circuit and the coil 12 with the capacitor 10 is a current resonance circuit. The parallel resonance circuit 8 is now not lossless due to the ohmic resistance of the coil 12 and the iron losses, as well as due to the disk currents.
Accordingly, at the resonance frequency, a loss current flows through the parallel resonance circuit 8, which leads the current in the coil 12 by almost 90. Furthermore, since this leakage current also flows through the coil 11, the magnetic flux leading through the pole leg 2 and the magnetic flux leading through the pole leg 3 are displaced by almost 90 relative to one another. By a suitable choice of the number of turns of the two coils 11, 12 he can. It will be enough that the two instinctual flows are equal in size to one another. Since the current in coil 12 is greater than that in coil 11, the number of turns in coil 12 will be made smaller than that of coil 11.
If necessary, the required leakage current can also be artificially increased by a parallel resistor placed on the coil 12.
When the response frequency is given, the two resonance circuits now come into resonance. The two drive flows then have a value that is favorable in terms of size and phase for generating a tangential force acting on the drive pulley, the direction of which depends on the direction of the winding of the two coils. If, on the other hand, the frequency of the applied voltage is lower than the response frequency, then the current in the coil 11 initially decreases slightly because of the disturbed resonance in the series resonance circuit 7.
Since the Re is disrupted in the parallel resonance circuit 8, the current in the coil 12 will also decrease. Furthermore, the lower the frequency, the closer the parallel resonance circuit approaches the case in which the capacitance of the capacitor 10 would be absent at all. The phase relationship between the instinctual flows is therefore disturbed. At a frequency that is above the response frequency of the Ferrari relay, the processes are essentially analog. Only here, because the already lower current of the coil 11 flows mostly through the capacitor 10, the current in the coil 12 almost completely disappears.
Although the shape of the drive core of the Ferraris relay shown in FIGS. 1 and 2 is very favorable in terms of space utilization, drive cores of different designs can naturally also be used. For example, drive systems like those used in electricity meters could also be used to manufacture the ferrari relays.
The frequency relay, which is activated by a central office, is used to carry out work processes on switches, tariff counters, clocks or to monitor similar processes.
