Electrical switching device with thermal overcurrent release. The invention relates to an elec trical switching device with thermal overcurrent release, which is characterized by its special simplicity and a small number of components, while having great operational reliability, and also has easy assembly and fine-tune ability.
According to the invention, this is achieved by a construction in which the aluminum wire is clamped on one side and a release device is actuated by pressure with its free end.
In the drawing, an exemplary embodiment of the invention is shown, namely: FIG. 1 inclines a perspective view of a switching device with a flexible wire actuation. 2 and 3 show a socket with the device according to Figure 1 in section and in plan view; Figure 4 is a perspective view of a detail of the socket.
In the drawing, 1 is the base and?, 22 <B> '</B> are the feed contacts fastened to the base as usual by means of screws. One end of the hot wire 3 is clamped between the base 1 and the feed contact, while a conductor piece 5 and an insulating piece 6 are attached to the other, free end by means of a rivet 7.
The conductor piece 5 has an embossed spring 8, which carries one contact 10 of the contact point at its end. The movable mating contact 11 is seated on a conductor section 12 which is designed as an ilebel and which is mounted in a notch 13 on the feed contact 2 '. On the rear end of the lever, a spring 15 acts, which exerts a pressure on the lever in the sense of an opening movement of the contact point.
On the other hand, the lever can be held in the closed position by a resilient pawl 16 engaging on the other side of the feeder contact. For this purpose, the pawl 16 has a narrow neck 16 'which merges into a wider head 16 "by means of a shoulder 17. The narrow neck 16' then lies in a recess provided on the contact lever 12 in the closed switch position 1.8 a, whereby the 1% reduction keeps the lever 12 in the closed position.
Spring 15 and pawl 1.6 are made from a single piece 20, which is clamped in the middle between rule feed contact 2 'and base 1.
The hot wire 3 can be stored in a channel in the base, which serves as a guide and has the effect that the longitudinal change of the hot wire can only have an effect in the axial direction.
The mode of operation is as follows: In the event of a sudden short circuit or prolonged overload, the length of the hot wire increases, with the insulating piece 6 exerting pressure on the pawl 1 <B> 1 </B> 6 and this against the feed contact 2 'Presses that the neck 16' emerges from the recess 18, the spring 15, the sudden snap of the contact lever 12! and thus the opening of the contact point 10, 11 caused.
The contact point is closed in any way, for example by means of a push button, in that the contact lever 12 is pushed back into its closed position, the pawl 16 snapping in again and holding the contact lever in place.
To set the size of the desired tripping current in the event of a short circuit or. the breaking capacity for prolonged overloading, the depth of the recess 18 is chosen to be differently large. As a result, the change in length of the hot wire required for triggering is a larger or smaller one, where it should be noted that it does not need to change by the same amount, but only by so much smaller than the transmission ratio, namely the ratio of the attacking and the acting lever arm of the pawl 16 corresponds.
In the embodiment shown in FIGS. 2 and 3, the described thermal self-release device is assembled with a socket. Here, a scoring wire 3 is clamped in an analogous manner at the feed contact 3.5, with the free end of which the insulating piece 6 and the guide piece 5, which carries the fixed contact 10, is connected. The lever 12 ′, which is mounted on the block 36 and carries the movable contact 11, is curved in an arc to the side in order to make room for the socket 37, which is carried by an arm 38 protruding from the block 36.
As above, the release mechanisms consist of a spring 15 and a pawl 16, which both engage the contact lever 12 ', the neck 16' being inserted into the recess 18 of the lever 12 '; 39 is an insulating partition which separates the contact points from the feed contacts.
When the hot wire is extended, the latch pops out and the lever opens the contact point; The reset takes place by means of a push button 440, FIG. 4, which is guided on the cover of the socket outlet and which is arranged in such a way that it can only be depressed after the plug has been removed, which means that it cannot be switched on again under a short circuit.
The push button 40 is guided in recesses 42 of the base and the (not shown) can lid and has trapezoidal recesses 43 on both sides at its lower end, in which the contact levers 12 ', 12 "engage. The actual restoring effect exerts the edge 44 off when the push button is pushed down from the top.
Due to its construction, the steam button is on the one hand secured against falling out and on the other hand each contact lever 12 'or 12 "can open by itself (in FIG. 4 the lever 121, whereby it rests against the upper limit of the recess 43 while the other contact lever (the lever 12 'in FIG. 1) can remain in the closed position, where it is located at the lower edge of the recess 43. It is also possible to reset each individual contact lever independently of the other or both Contact lever can also be made by simply pressing the push button down.
An electrical resistance material is expediently used for the hot wire of thermal switching devices of the above and similar type, which has a melting point as high as possible (above 13.00 C) and at the same time a very high specific one Resistance was c = 1.0 or more than 1.0.
This resistance, which is more than twice as high as that of the materials most commonly used for resistance wires (constant c = 0.5, nickel c = 0.4 to 0.45), causes the wire to reach its dimensions - Nation for a relatively very low tripping current strength due to its relatively large thickness still has such mechanical buckling strength that it can easily exert a fairly strong pressure on the release mechanisms.
The high melting point is also important here, since the strength properties of the material are already significantly reduced when the red heat sets in. For a tripping current of 3 amps, the material characterized above for the hot wire still has a diameter of 0.6 mm, which ensures sufficient mechanical rigidity. Of course, other similar materials can be used for the hot wire.
