Electric switch with automatic release. The subject of the invention is an electrical switch with automatic tripping, which can be done by a thermal tripping device as well as a zero voltage magnet and a maximum current magnet, and these three elements can act independently of one another on the switch tripping.
In the accompanying drawing, which shows an embodiment of the subject matter of the invention schematically, 1 is the switch blade, on the trigger mechanism of a thermal tripping device 2, a zero-voltage magnet 3 and a maximum current magnet 4 can act. The switch blade 1 and the switch lever 7 are freely movable against each other if they are not coupled by the locking lever 8 with each other. When switching on a spring 9 is tensioned. A lock 10 holds the switch lever 7 in the switched-on position (Fig. 1).
If the network is de-energized, the armature of the zero-voltage magnet 3 is not held; the spring-loaded armature operates the pawl 6 and the release lever 5 is released. The latter lifts the locking lever 8 (as a result of the relaxing spring 9), which releases the switch blade 1, and the spring 9 pulls it into the switch-off position without moving the switch lever 7 (FIG. 2).
If it is to be switched on again, the switch lever 7 must be pulled back into the switch-off position (FIG. 3); The release lever 5 is returned to its readiness by the lever 11, and the locking lever 8 couples the switch blade 1 to the switch lever 7.
If voltage is present in the mains when switching on, the armature of the zero voltage magnet 3 is attracted and the pawl 6 is not actuated from this point.
If, on the other hand, there is a short circuit in the switched-on network, the maximum current magnet 4 will act immediately on the lever 12 and trigger the switch 1 as already described the prescribed dimension trigger switch 1. By means of an adjustable screw 13 on the lever 12, the switch for currents that are not significantly different from one another can be set; If, on the other hand, the current is significantly greater than the normal value, a new thermal release device, which is set for a higher current intensity, must be used.
The same naturally occurs with the coil of the zero-voltage magnet 3 as well as with the coil of the maximum magnet 4; these three elements must be adapted to the conditions placed on the switch. In the drawing, the switch is only shown single-pole; But it can also be multi-pole, and the thermal trip device and the maximum current magnet 4 can be present as many times as there are poles; that means every circuit can be equipped with it. The lever 12 and the screw 13 must then be connected to each thermal release device and to each maximum current magnet by a linkage, so that each element can act independently on the locking lever 6.
The zero-voltage magnet 3 and the other parts only need to be present once in a multi-pole switch.
