Rotary magnet for adjustment functions below 90. A rotary magnet is an electromagnet with a rotatable armature that takes a certain position depending on the changing strength of the magnetism in the part it is excited. Rotary solenoids are used as setting organs for electrical contacts and control resistors, for hydraulic or pneumatic valves and slides, for actuating optical or acoustic signals, as triggering devices for safety devices, and as display devices for measuring and recording instruments.
The rotary magnet according to the invention is built for adjustment angles below 90 and, in spite of this small adjustment angle, is characterized by particular accuracy of the setting with a relatively large torque.
It has at least one drive system in which the core of the stationary magnet coil consists of four segment-shaped pole pieces, two of which are arranged symmetrically at the ends of the @ coil cavity =. as well as from the rotating armature provided with two iron segments, which magnetically bridge the axial air gap between each two pole pieces.
In the drawing, two Ausfüh approximately examples for .die invention are shown. namely Fig. 1 shows the first example of the new rotary magnet in longitudinal section, Fig. 2 the same in cross section along the line X-X; Fig. 3 shows schematically the two end positions of the armature, Fig. 4 the torque curve of the magnet, while in Fig. 5 and 6 an embodiment with two counter-rotating magnets according to the invention is illustrated.
According to FIGS. 1 and 2, the exciter coil a of the magnet is enclosed in an iron jacket b , which, like the two end plates c, also serves as protection and as a magnetic return path. The four pole shoes are located in the cavity of the coil in a symmetrical arrangement along the longitudinal and transverse axes. e, f, g of segment-like shape, of which two radially opposite ones each have the same polarity, for example d and e north poles _N, f and g south poles 8 are. The part h between the two poles is iron-free.
He will. by bridging the two iron coverings i and k of the rotating armature, the supporting piece of which is na unmagnetisoh and attached to the rotating axis n. The magnetic layers i and k also have a segment shape or form sections of a hollow cylinder. They are longer than the pole spacing h, but narrower than the transverse slot o between the pole pieces of the same coil end. The armature i, k, m, n is pulled against the stop q by the opposing force p when the magnetic field is not excited.
Assuming a uniform air gap r, the torque of the magnet increases with increasing excitation from the zero position to the center position of the armature shown in Fig. 2 more than proportionally to the deflection angle a (Fig. 3), with stronger excitation the increase in torque is smaller and smaller, as long until the entire pole arc of the armature linings i, k is encompassed by the palm arcs d, e, f, g, a further increase in magnetism does not result in a further increase in torque.
The torque D is in Fig. 4 depending on the deflection angle a respectively. plotted from the position of the anchor.
By unevenly dimensioning the air gap r or by disproportionately applying the counter torque (p / lever arm), the characteristic D = f (a) can be given any desired shape in a known manner, for example also that of a straight line.
In the embodiment according to FIGS. 5 and 6, the former showing a longitudinal section and the latter showing a cross section according to Y-Y, the counterforce p can be omitted. This is a device that adjusts its movable organ or shaft n as a function of the sum or difference or also of the product or quotient of two variables. Here, two drive systems according to FIG. 1 are assembled and one isolating on both sides Trä gers s attached.
For example, if the coil a1 is fed in proportion to the current, the coil a. proportional to the voltage at a certain point of an electrical distribution network, the following occurs: the rotation of the shaft ra according to the resistance or - in the case of alternating current - the impedance of the line section under consideration, a measurement that plays a role in the selective protection of line networks.
The two armatures in, and m2 are symmetrically offset from the central position, so that if the two magnet coils al and a.2 are equally excited, their torques cancel each other out. The two armatures are expediently allowed to work only on the middle, almost straight-line part of the torque curve, so that the rotary system has a practically static character in this deflection area.
As a result, the rotary magnet becomes a highly sensitive response element that deflects to one side or the other, depending on whether a certain limit impedance is exceeded or not reached.
