L'invention se rapporte à un procédé pour la fabrication d'objets sanitaires, caractérisé en ce qu'on forme lesdits objets au moyen de magnésie calcinée traitée par du chlore de magnésium, puis en ce qu'on les recouvre d'un enduit insoluble dans l'eau.
La magnésie calcinée traitée par du chlo rure de magnésium se présente sous forme d'une pâte ayant la consistance de la terre glaise, et pouvant par conséquent être facile ment coulée ou fondue; on peut donc donner à l'objet toutes les formes désirées.
Une fois sec, ce produit peut être meulé. On peut aussi le vernir, le décorer, le munir d'un enduit ou d'un émail colorés ou non, dans le but d'imiter et de remplacer la faïence, le grès, la porcelaine, le marbre veiné, etc.
La résistance des objets ainsi fabriqués est considérable, et leur étanchéité absolue; ils sont en outre plus légers et d'un prix de revient inférieur à celui des produits utilisés actuellement pour les mêmes buts.
L'invention se rapporte aussi à un objet sanitaire fabriqué selon le procédé, et carac- térisé en ce qu'il consiste, au moins en partie, en un corps de magnésie calcinée traitée par du chlorure de mangésium, puis recouvert d'un enduit insoluble dans l'eau.
Le dessin annexé représente deux objets fabriqués selon le procédé et donnés à titre d'exemples.

Dans la fig. 1, a est une cloison tubulaire raccordée à un fond b qui présente un trou d'évacuation des vapeurs e. Les arêtes sont munies d'armatures de renforcement c et d noyées dans la matière. Ces armatures peu vent cependant être supprimées.
