Procedure for starting locomotive converter sets. In the case of locomotive converters, which consist of a single-phase motor coupled to a direct current generator, this prepares for the start. Difficulties because the single-phase motor has no torque when it is stationary. According to the invention, such a converter replacement is started in the manner. that the direct current generator is switched as a single phase commutator machine and is connected to the alternating current network via a voltage converter as a motor.
When the machine set has reached a certain speed in a tile manner, the single-phase motor can be connected to the mains, and it will then accelerate under the influence of the rotating field generated in it at this speed to close to the synchronous speed. If the single-phase motor is an asynchronous motor, it will hold in the vicinity of the synchronous speed with the slip corresponding to the load. If it is a synchronous motor, it will run into the synchronous speed after switching on the DC excitation.
In both cases, a safe and easy start-up can be achieved in the manner indicated. After the converter set has reached full speed, the DC machine is separated from the one-phase network and converted back into a DC generator by switching its windings, which can supply the electricity required to feed the traction motors.
In Fig. 1, for example, a circuit is shown with which the starting ge according to the invention can be carried out. 1 is the contact wire, from which the single-phase current is conducted by means of the pantograph 2 to the converter set of the locomotive consisting of the DC machine 3 and the single-phase motor 4. The single-phase motor 4 is an induction motor with slip ring armature in the present case. The stator of the single-phase motor is provided with a high-voltage winding for direct connection to the operating voltage.
During operation, this winding has one pole connected to earth, the other is connected to the power supply lines 2 via the high-voltage switch 5. The main high-voltage switch 5 is open during starting. The field of the direct current generator 3 coupled to the single-phase motor carries a main excitation winding 6, which is excited by shunting or externally, and a mating winding 7, furthermore a reversing pole winding 8 and a compensation winding 9.
During starting, the main excitation winding 6 is not live. To avoid surges in it; it is expediently divided into individual sub-sections, each of which can be short-circuited with appropriate resistances if necessary.
The mating winding is connected to the armature circuit during start-up in such a way that it acts as the main circuit excitation winding for the same direction of rotation in which the machine will later work as a DC generator.
The mating winding is expediently arranged in such a way that it has as little scatter as possible, i.e. in the vicinity of the air gap. The three-pole changeover switch 10 is used to switch over the DC machine from a DC generator with counter-compound winding to a single-phase commutator main circuit motor with the same direction of rotation. The switch blades are placed on the left for start-up.
In this way, as he can see, the machine 3 is connected as a main circuit motor to the secondary winding of the starting transformer 11, the primary winding of which is connected to the earth with one pole and the other via a switch 12 to the pantograph 2: the locomotive can be connected.
After the start-up, the main high-voltage switch 5 is closed and, as a result, the single-phase motor 4 is connected to the network .
After the converter set has come up to full speed, with a starting resistor connected to the slip rings of the single-phase motor, if necessary, the switch 12 of the starting transformer is opened and the machine 3 is switched to a DC generator with a counter-compound winding by flipping the switch 10 - changed treatment, which responds to the drive motors. direct current lines 13 leading to the reverser works.
The switch, through which the main excitation winding 6 of the machine 3 is divided during starting and during .des operation as a DC generator in their parts is switched one after the other., As well as those through: the disconnection and connection of this winding 6 the gommutator brushes respectively. to .die external power source is not shown in the drawing.
Instead of providing a special starting transformer, the low-voltage single-phase current for operating the DC machine as a single-phase commutator motor can be obtained from a winding that is arranged on the stator of the single-phase motor and magnetically coupled to the working winding of this motor. which can also be electrically connected to the working winding or be electrically separated from it.
In this case, for starting, as shown in Fig. 2, the working winding 14 of the single-phase motor through the high-voltage switch 15 is placed on the grid. In addition to the working winding 14, the stator of the single-phase motor also has a low-voltage winding 16, which in the. The present case is three-phase, and during the running of the single-phase motor in a manner known per se, a three-phase voltage that can be used for the operation of auxiliary devices is induced.
To start up, a part of this three-phase voltage, namely that which is magnetically linked to the working winding 14, is drawn from single-phase current and via switch 17, for example, in the same way as in the previous embodiment as a single-phase series connection - Commutator motor switched direct current machine 18 is supplied. After the start-up, the rotor winding of the single-phase motor, which was previously connected to protective resistor 19, is
short-circuited by a short-circuiting device? 0 and then by turning the switch 17, the direct current machine 18 is separated from the alternating current network and converted into a direct current generator with shunt or external excitation and with a counter-connected winding that connects to the lines 21 leading to the traction motors or the reverser works. Also in Fig. 2, the switches used for switching the main field winding of the machine 18 are not shown.
The tempering according to the invention is not in the manner described in the embodiment. Switching of the DC machine limited. llan can also let the reversing pole and compensation winding act as an excitation winding by moving the brushes accordingly. Furthermore, it is possible to connect the various sub-coils of the shunt exciter winding parallel to one another and, if necessary, also to the Cregen composite winding in parallel or in series with it and thus to use them as an exciter winding.
The machine can also be designed as a double-fed series-wound machine instead of a single-fed machine.
You can also start the DC machine as a repulsion motor. You can only use the reversing pole winding and the compensation winding together or each individually or, also only the counter-connection winding, possibly with parallel or series connection with the correspondingly switched main field winding (the individual coils of the main field winding can with each other connected in series or in parallel with each other)
use. In this case, the brushes of the commutator must be moved accordingly ver. Ilan can, however, also, especially in the case of machines without pronounced poles, proceed according to the type of compensated machine in such a way that the reversing pole and the compensation winding or one of the two with the counter-composite winding, to which the main winding, if necessary - are connected in parallel or in series after appropriate switching, connect in series.
This results in a spatially shifted alternating field, both in relation to the reversing pole and compensation winding axis, and in relation to the counter-compound winding and main excitation winding axis. In this case, the machine can start up as a repulsion motor without moving the brushes.
In other ways too. The direct current generator can be converted from single-phase commutator machines by switching its field and armature windings accordingly, if necessary with the aid of ohmic or inductive resistors.
