Description
Yerssaltren for the production of a virulent Tüberlzüloseba.zillenhtiltür. It is known that tubercle bacilli reproduce much more slowly on artificial culture media than most other bacterial pathogens.
The invention now relates to a method for producing a virulent tuberculosis bacillep culture, which is characterized in that such an agent is added to the nutrient medium in such a concentration that the bacteria, if they are further grown on the agent-free nutrient medium, then show increased growth and an increase in virulence.
From the chemically treated in the manner described, changed in growth and virulence in the sense of an increase in tubercle bacilli, particularly effective preparations for vaccination and for the treatment of human tuberculosis can be obtained according to the usual methods by using the culture obtained as starting material for Can use vaccine preparation.
Example: A (xlycerin broth is mixed with methylene blue so that the dye dilution is 1: 3,000.00.0. Tubercle bacilli are inoculated and exposed to the dye until a maximum increase in growth can be determined on normal culture media The chemically modified bacilli obtained can be further cultivated on normal nutrient media and processed for vaccines by conventional methods.
The same procedure is followed if, for example, quinine is used as a bacterial poison in the dilution 1: 75 000.
