Description

Water tube boilers, in particular for locomotives. The present invention relates to water tube boilers in which rows of water tubes arranged in vertical planes are transverse to the flow direction of the zigzag pathways and are arranged parallel to guide walls forming the trains. In the previously known Kes seln .dieser type the tubes of all rows of tubes open on each side of the boiler in a water chamber extending over the entire length of the boiler.

This design has the disadvantage that these water chambers are exposed to uneven heating, which easily results in malfunctions. According to the present invention, this disadvantage is eliminated by the fact that each row of tubes is assigned two water chambers which are located in the same zone of the furnace as the water tubes of the row in question opening into them.

The drawing illustrates an exemplary embodiment of the subject matter of the invention, namely, FIGS. 1 and 2 show the water tube boiler in longitudinal section, respectively. Cross-section; FIG. 3 shows a section along the line A-B of FIG.

As FIGS. 2 and 3 show, the rows of water pipes a are not parallel to the longitudinal center plane x-y, thus not in the main direction of the fire gases, but in perpendicular right transverse planes. At the two ends of each row of tubes there is a water chamber b respectively. c, which water chambers are symmetrical with respect to the longitudinal center plane x-y on both sides of the grate d and the furnace. The fire room itself is divided into sections by vertical partition walls f, which are parallel to the water pipes a .

Two rows of tubes are arranged in each of the three rear trains and three rows in the front, and the tubes a of two adjacent rows are inclined in opposite directions, as shown in FIG. 2, so that they cross one another.

The water chambers b, c give the steam generated in them to the collector g respectively. lt, from which it comes through lines i and j into a water space 1c outside the furnace. This contains (read feed water, which is fed to the water chambers b, c through pipes ro. Ri.

The mean. a line, 1) steam withdrawn can be used as steam,) which has previously been passed through an overheater. The fresh water is fed into the large water space 1 ;: by means of a line q.

The invention allows a very ge crowded arrangement of all parts of the Kes sels, in particular, as the figure shows, the furnace and the water room 1, be arranged in a cheap and space-saving manner. As a result of the crosswise arrangement of the water pipes a adjacent rows of pipes, a complete flushing of the pipes and consequently an extraordinarily high utilization of the fire gases is achieved.

Dif @ water chambers b, c of each Rolirreilie lie with the associated water pipes a in one and the same zone of the fire gases. where harmful irregularities in thermal expansion are avoided.

Because the guide walls f are parallel to the water pipes, assembly, disassembly and cleaning are easier.
