Pulvérisateur-vaporisateur.
Sprayer-sprayer. This invention relates to a pulveriser-vaporiser intended to reduce to the state of vapor a liquid fuel, under the option of a compressed and expanded gas.
In the apparatus according to the invention, the g-1tz, serving, to. vaporize the combustible liquid, is distributed automatically and proportionally to the quantity of liquid to vaporizer by means of a device actuated by the pressure of the injected liquid and acting on a member which regulates the admission of the compressed gas.
The drawing above, given to as an example, shows a sprayer with an inflarger, intended for the direct supply of fuel to a machine. thermal to internal combustion.
It comprises a cylinder 1 in which a distributor piston-valve moves 2. This sealed piston is hollow in order to have a very low inertia and it is terminated at. a (the -its ends by a valve 3 whose vee, depending on the displacement of the piston - valve, is limited by a stop. The liquid to vaporize is discharged under strong pressure and enters the cylinder 1 through port 4.
The compressed gas used for the. vaporization arrives through the connector 5 and with the res out 6 ensures the return of the piston-valve and the closing of the. valve 3.
An orifice 7 closed by the pisfon-valve opens into a pipe 8 leading the liquid fuel to the injector 9 where it penetrates into the grooves 10 of increasing cross section, straight or helical depending on the applications and which are provided on the periphery and in the direction of the length of a mass of stainless metal, constituting the heater Il loo,
ge in the injector body 9 which is provided at its end with a nozzle with multiple jets 12 and whose main jet 15 extends the central supply channel 13. Thin grooves 14 are made on the injector body, so to constitute a series of jets secondary, calibrated and fed by oblique channels opening into an annular groove making all the grooves 14 communicate with each other.
A cap 16 imprisons the body (Vin- jector 9 by forming around it an annular chamber 17 of increasing section.
An automatic valve 18 brings the chamber 17 back to me in due time with the # -, compressed gas inlet 5. A small automatic valve 19 allows communication with the atmosphere, in good time, through Form 20.
The cap 16 ends with a series of tubes 21 formed by the nozzle 1-1, the cap itself and the body of the igniter _) 2 opening into the engine cylinder 30.
The first proboscis is supplied by the helical recesses 2P) made on the body of the nozzle 12, that of the second part is effected by the ellamber annular 24 supplied by orifices drilled in the wall of the cover 16 and un- blocking in the chamber 17. In certain cases, a sphere metal _) 5 hollow and good conductor of there heat brought to the ignition temperature of the fuel before start-up, form temperature regulator for the cover 16 and the injector 9 in operation.
The interior of this sphere, which is in contact with the combustion gases, can carry 26 fins to increase the on the radiation face, after a few minutes of walking its, temperature drops and its role consists to re (regularize the temperature of the or- Olanes mentioned above. It is then the bad conductive organ 22 which ensures the inflammation. 27 ensure the formation of a carburized zone before the igniter.
Conduits 9-8 formed on the cover 16 allow communication between the chamber 17 and the interior of the sphere.
An elastic resistance 29 constitutes an expansion compensator for the heater Il movable in the injector body 16.
The operation of the device is as follows - The liquid fuel delivered under high pressure by a pump, arrives through orifice 4. Being incompressible, it pushes in front of it the piston . 2 which controls 1 * Open the air inlet valve ") and discovers the channel 7 through which the liquid fuel gains to through the pipe 8 the helical grooves of expansion 10 of the heater Il where its temperature rises. 11 is stirred and driven through the very low-section and taper jets 1-1 and there .
so to let relax the fluid which, as a result of its crawling movement, its fluidity and rolling, comes out of the jets completely pulverized.
A-Li moment said discharge (the fuel, the valve 'to opens automatically Fair compressed to high pressure arriving through the port 5 </ B > by lifting the automatic valve 18 enters the annular chamber 17 of increasing section. The air is heated by the walls of the cover 16 and drives the sprayed liquid passing through the jets 14 inclined around said channel 13.
This first mixture passes through the helical grooves 23 made on the body of the nozzle 12 to entrain the sprayed liquid exiting through the central jet 15 in the body of the double tube 21 fed. pure naked jet of compressed air leaving the annular chamber 24. The resulting mixture vaporizes. coming out of the horn with high speed produces a call, through the orifices 27, of compressed air in the cylinder, thus facilitating the diffusion of the mixture in the mass, gaseous. Total ignition is therefore faster, being facilitated by the creation of vortices and eddies around the igniter 22.
While the sprayer is being fed, a certain quantity of air passes through the channels 28 in order to renew the gases contained in the sphere 25, forming a regulator temperature.
When the injection ends, the fuel pressure being almost canceled, the compressed air exerts a strong pressure on the top of the, valve 3 and ensures that immediately its closing as well as the return of the pi-qton-valve 2 to its initial position. It is the latter which completes the injection by discharging through through the injector a small quantity of liquid equal to the volume generated by its displacement. Port 7 is to closed again until the next injection.
During the closing movement of the piston-valve, the compressed air always enters the annular chamber 17 and while relaxing, entrains all the fuel in order to - </ B > avoid the formation of carbonaceous deposits at the end of the injector. The automatic valve 19 allows pure air to enter to expel the burnt gases contained in the. chamber 17 when the motor piston is at the admission period.
The circulation and expansion of cold air through through the annular chamber 17 allow the temperature of the injector body to be regulated < B> 9, the relaxed air carrying with it a certain quantity of heat in order to avoid condeiisation of the fuel during vaporization.
The drawing represents one of the embodiments, but it is obvious that the arrangement of the members of the sprayer-sprayer could be different without the mode of operation being changed.
