Abstract

La présente invention a pour objet l'utilisation de milieux de support réactifs bénéfiques sous la forme de bases de support réactives ou de strates qui fournissent des bénéfices structuraux ou biochimiques à la croissance ou à la fonction (y compris l'agglutination) de biofilms. L'aspect fonctionnel comprend la fourniture d'une structure polymère, cellulosique ou silicique. Le cadre pourrait également contenir des fractions de charge telles que des cations, des anions, des amines ou des groupes carboxyle dont les pKa lui permettent d'être chargés au pH physiologique pour un organisme. Par exemple, un cation peut fournir une charge positive pour aider à l'adhérence d'une substance polymère exocellulaire à charge négative. Les milieux de support réactifs peuvent comprendre des plastiques biodégradables ou réfractaires, des alginates ou des acides uroniques ou des EPS bactériens extraits.
