Abstract

L'invention concerne un système et un procédé de combustion de combustibles solides qui utilisent un moyen poreux inerte dans le processus de combustion. Le système comprend: un foyer de combustion qui contient un combustible solide, ce combustible solide est soumis à un processus de combustion à l'intérieur du foyer, générant des gaz de combustion, un moyen poreux inerte disposé à l'intérieur du foyer de combustion, le moyen poreux inerte se situant à proximité du combustible solide, et des moyens de régulation de flux disposés dans le foyer de combustion. Les moyens de régulation de flux sont disposés de manière à réguler l'opération de: au moins une entrée d'air dans le foyer de combustion, pour injecter de l'air d'admission vers l'intérieur du foyer de combustion; et au moins une sortie de gaz d'échappement dans le foyer de combustion, pour libérer des gaz d'échappement vers l'extérieur du foyer de combustion. Les moyens de régulation de flux génèrent un flux d'air d'admission et de gaz de combustion entre la ou les entrées d'air et la ou les sorties de gaz d'échappement, entraînant la formation d'un prémélange d'air d'admission et de gaz de combustion à l'intérieur du foyer. Les moyens de régulation de flux et le moyen poreux inerte font circuler le prémélange à travers le moyen poreux inerte, notamment, à travers les pores du moyen poreux inerte, provoquant le préchauffage de l'air d'admission et l'accélération de la réaction de gaz de combustion dans les pores, procédant à la combustion du prémélange à l'intérieur des pores du moyen poreux inerte.
