Abstract
Conformément à divers modes de réalisation, la présente invention concerne une application de comparaison de codeurs qui compare les performances de différents codeurs configurés. En fonctionnement, l'application de comparaison de codeurs génère une première enveloppe convexe globale de points de codage vidéo sur la base d'un premier codeur configuré et d'un ensemble de sous-séquences incluses dans une séquence vidéo source. Chaque point de codage vidéo est associé à une version codée différente de la séquence vidéo source. L'application de comparaison de codeurs génère également une seconde enveloppe convexe globale de points de codage vidéo sur la base d'un second codeur configuré et des sous-séquences. Ensuite, l'application de configuration de codeurs calcule une valeur de performances pour une métrique de comparaison de codage sur la base de la première enveloppe convexe globale et de la seconde enveloppe convexe globale. En particulier, la première valeur de performances estime une différence de performances entre le premier codeur configuré et le second codeur configuré.
