The kebab press consists of the base "1" having upward extending sidewalls with two notches to place the skewer "4", and an inner wavy-shaped base. The second part is a plunger "2" that has a handle "3" attached to a wavy-shaped plate and sized to fit within the base. By filling the foodstuff "5" inside the base "1" and inserting the skewer "4" and then compressing both the foodstuff "5" and the skewer "4" by the plunger "2", the kebab "6" will be formed in the traditional shape, where the foodstuff will be distributed and compressed evenly and homogeneously. The kebab press eliminates the possibility of food falling off the skewer after shaping, saves time and money, and it is easy to use, light, manual, powerless and it can be used anywhere and anytime.

Description Kebab Press Field of the Invention This invention relates to the field of kitchen utensils and food preparation.
More specifically, the present invention relates to a manual device using to form a ground foodstuff around a skewer to prepare kebabs in the traditional shape.
Background of The Invention Kebab is a popular dish all over the world and it has its origin in the Middle East cuisine. Kebab is called on a foodstuff that placed onto a skewer and grilled over fire or in oven. The foodstuff can be chunks "cut up" or ground food ingredients.
Preparing kebabs from chunks of meat and vegetables is easy and does not take time. In addition, it does not require skills in order to skewer it. Another type of kebab known as Kofta Kebab and it is made from ground meat or vegetable or mix of both and this kind of Kebab needs skills and experience to skewer it.
Many people like kofta kebab but they cannot prepare it by themselves as it is hard to form and keep the minced or grounded moist food stick onto the skewers. So it requires a good training, skills and experience to form and skewer the kebab. The ingredients should be squeezed onto the skewer properly, and homogeneously and evenly distributed around the skewer. That makes preparing kebabs a challenge with a high risk of food falling off the skewer and losing it during preparation, handling, cooking and grilling, In the event that the food is not well distributed, the degree of cooking may differ on each side.
Description of the Related Art The traditional and common way to prepare kebab is to manually form and squeeze the ingredients around the skewer with high probability of food coming into contact with the hand, dropping food off the skewers and not distributing food evenly and homogeneously.
There are some machines available in the market for preparing kebabs and they are divided into three categories:

By this way the outer layer becomes dry and hard, and the inner ingredients will not be grilled or cooked well, causing the kebab to lose its flavor. In addition, it does not work without power.
Automatic Kebab machine is an industrial machine, it occupies good space, is expensive. In addition, it requires power to run the motor and heater. It performs well in the restaurant and food industry.
Summary of the Invention The purpose of this invention is to form the minced or ground foodstuff around the skewer properly.
The present invention includes two parts. First part is a base "1" having upward extending sidewalls with two notches to place a skewer "4", and an inner wavy-shaped base. The second part is a plunger "2" that has a handle "3" attached to a wavy-shaped plate and sized to fit within the base.
The invention is simple, compact and light. So it can be used in home, garden, picnic, camping, food truck, food court and family restaurant. To use it does not need training, experience or any special skills.
The kebab press does not need power, so it can be used anywhere and it is environment friendly and safe to work with. And it does not include a heater so it keeps food fresh and prevents it from getting dry.
The present invention is designed to distribute the ingredients equally and squeeze them onto skewer gently and homogeneously so that first it allows the food to be cooked or grilled well and the second will eliminate the risk of food falling and wasting. In addition, it is easy to use, keeps foodstuff clean free hand touch, fast process, saves time and money, is washable, and can be fit in dishwashing machine.

Detailed Description of the Invention As mentioned above the kebab press includes two parts a base "1" and a plunger "2". The base "1"
has upward extending sidewalls with two notches for skewer "4", and an inner wavy-shaped base.
The plunger "2" has a handle "3" attached to a wavy-shaped plate and sized to fit within the base.
To prepare the kebabs, the base "1" is placed on a working table and filled by a certain weight of foodstuff "5" regarding to the kebab press size. And then One of the following methods is performed:
Either the plunger "2" is slowly pressed into the base, where the foodstuff "5" begins to form, and before the plunger "2" completely engaged into the base "1" the skewer "4" is inserted from either side of the notch and through the foodstuff "5" and then the plunger "2" is compressed until fully engaged into the base "1".
Or the skewer "4" is compressed into the foodstuff "5" and then the plunger is slowly compressed until fully engaged into the base"1".
Where the skewer "4" is placed into the notch designated for it, and the foodstuff "5" is distributed evenly and compered gently around the skewer "4".

Detailed Description of the Invention As mentioned above the kebab press includes two parts a base "1" and a plunger "2". The base "1"
has upward extending sidewalls with two notches for skewer "4", and an inner wavy-shaped base.
The plunger "2" has a handle "3" attached to a wavy-shaped plate and sized to fit within the base.
To prepare the kebabs, the base "1" is placed on a working table and filled by a certain weight of foodstuff "5" regarding to the kebab press size. And then One of the following methods is performed:
Either the plunger "2" is slowly pressed into the base, where the foodstuff "5" begins to form, and before the plunger "2" completely engaged into the base "1" the skewer "4" is inserted from either side of the notch and through the foodstuff "5" and then the plunger "2" is compressed until fully engaged into the base "1".

To prevent the ingredients"5" from sticking to the base "1", non-stick parchment or food grade nylon can be used around the base "1" and the plunger "2", or the kebab press can be coated with non-stick food-grade material.
The kebab press can be of several sizes and dimensions to form the required weight and size of the kebabs.
The kebab press can be made of stainless steel, aluminum, plastic or any food grade material.
The press is washable and can be fit inside dishwasher machine.
The plunger handle "3" can be in the form of a pull handle "3.1", knob "3.2", arm "3.3", or any form of handle (FIG. 3, 4 & 5).
The kebab press can be single for one skewer or for multi-skewers such as duplex (FIG. 7), triplex (FIG. 8), ...etc.
The plunger "2" can be an individual part or be attached to the base "1" by a hinge "8" and this allows the plunger "2" to articulated rotate into the base "1" (FIG. 5).
The base "1" and plunger "2" can be mounted on a hinged support "7" (FIG. 6).
The hinged support "7" consists of footing "7.1", arm "7.2" and hinge "7.3". Both the base and the plunger are removable or fixed.

Claims (3)
1- I claim a kabab press for forming ground food ingredients around a skewer for preparing kebabs in the traditional shape. It comprising a base and a plunger. The base has notch at each side to place the skewer. The plunger has a handle that enables the plunger to press the foodstuff and skewer into the base.
2- I claim a kabab press for forming ground food ingredients around a skewer for preparing kebabs in the traditional shape. It comprising a base and a plunger. The base has notch at each side to place the skewer. Both the base and plunger are hinged to each other so the plunger is able to rotate articulated and engages into the base. The plunger has an arm that enables the plunger to press the foodstuff and skewer into the base.
3- I claim a kabab press for forming ground food ingredients around a skewer for preparing kebabs in the traditional shape. It comprising a base and a plunger. The base has notch at each side to place the skewer. Both the base and the plunger are installed on the hinged support and the plunger is able to rotate articulated and engages into the base. The hinged support consists of footing, arm and hinge. Both the base and the plunger are removable or fixed.
