Abstract
This unique Ice Fishing Rod allows you to set it up with minimurn effort. This pivoting rod is equipped with a spring loaded hinge that goes up and down when you get a bite enabling the buzzer and led light to activate. This alerts the fisherman of a possible catch. The line holder is also equipped with a rattle wheel that makes it easy to roll and unroll the line without it getting tangled.
Description
Description:
This unique Ice Fishing Rod allows you to set it up with minimum effort.
This pivoting rod is equipped with a spring loaded hinge that goes up and down and allows the fish to go freely. This will enable the buzzer and led light alerting the fisherman of a possible catch.
The line holder is also equipped with a rattle wheel that makes it easy to roll and unroll the line without it getting tangled.
This ice fishing rod is lightweight and the spring load hinge can be removed for transportation. It is powered by a 9-volt battery and is proven to be durable. All parts including lights, reel and battery are replaceable.

Claims (14)
1. The Fishing device comprising a rod having two rod portions, means for connecting the rod portions such that the upper rod portion projects outwardly from the side rod portion, said connecting means comprising a coil spring fastened to one of the two rod portions providing flexibility of the upper rod portion relative to the side rod portion such that the upper one of the portions can pivot to the side portion against a spring provided by the coil spring about an axis transverse to the portions, means on an end of the side portion remote from the upper portion for mounting the side portion in a fixed position in the ground, means mounting a fishing line on one of the portions, an alarm means for providing an alarm on detection of a pivoting movement of said upper portion relative to said side portion, said alarm means comprising a sound producing buzzer, means for providing an electrical voltage, circuit means for connecting said voltage to said buzzer and contact means responsive to said pivoting movement for completing said circuit to actuate said buzzer, a light means for providing a light indicator of a pivoting movement of said upper portion relative to said side portion, said light means activation, means for providing an electrical voltage, circuit means for connecting said voltage to said light and contact means responsive to said pivoting movement for completing said circuit to actuate said light wherein the upper and side portions both comprise a cylindrical rod of circular cross-section, the side portion having a larger round diameter than the upper portion, the coil spring being tapered such that one end of the spring is inserted to the upper portion and clamps the side portion so that it is fixed relative to said one end of the spring and wherein the other end of the spring is of a diameter substantially equal to that of the diameter of the side portion and is attached to an end of the side portion.
2. The invention according to Claim 1 wherein the upper portion includes a hook projecting outwardly from the top thereof and wherein the line is placed through the eyelet hook.
3. The invention according to Claim 1 wherein the side portion includes a pair hooks wherein the line is placed through the eyelet hooks to the rattle reel.
4. The invention according to Claim 1 wherein the buzzer and the voltage means are mounted on the side portion.
5. The invention according to Claim 1 wherein the light indicator and the voltage means are mounted on the side portion.
6. The invention according to Claim 1 wherein the fastener means on the upper portion comprises a hook and means mounting the hook on the rod portion for rotation around an axis longitudinal of the rod portion.
7. The invention according to Claim 1 wherein the contact means comprises an arm mounted on one of the portions and extending therefrom to a position beyond the end of said one of the portions, the arm having a contact on an end thereof remote from said one portion for providing electrical connection with a portion of the circuit on the other of said rod portions when the other of said rod portions is pivoted.
8. The invention according to Claim 1 wherein said voltage means is connected to said coil spring by said circuit means such that the engagement of said coil spring with said arm completes the circuit for actuation of said buzzer.
9. The invention according to Claim 1 wherein said voltage means is connected to said coil spring by said circuit means such that the engagement of said coil spring with said arm completes the circuit for actuation of said light.
10. The invention according to Claim 1 wherein the arm is pivotally mounted on said one portion for movement about an axis at right angles to said rod portion so that the arm can be moved up and down of the rod portion to a position in which it can no longer contact said coupling means.
11. The invention according to Claim 1 wherein the arm is formed from spring steel such that it can be deformed to adjust the spacing of the end thereof from said other rod portion.
12. The invention according to Claim 1 wherein the connecting means comprises a coil spring having one end attached to said upper portion and an opposed end attached to said side portion, said voltage means being connected to the coil spring by said circuit means such that engagement of said coil spring with said arm completes the circuit for actuation of said buzzer.
13. The invention according to Claim 1 wherein the connecting means comprises a coil spring having one end attached to said upper portion and an opposed end attached to said side portion, said voltage means being connected to the coil spring by said circuit means such that engagement of said coil spring with said arm completes the circuit for actuation of said light.
14. The invention according to Claim 1 wherein the arm is pivotally mounted on said one portion for movement at the right angles to said rod portion so that the arm can be moved up and down of the rod portion to a position in which it can no longer contact said coupling means.
