Abstract
In this Patent, hockey stick and goalie stick will be referenced as 'hockey stick,' because they are both hockey sticks.
My invention is for a Hockey Stick Adaptor Plug. This Adaptor Plug has a slightly smaller sized end, not fully tapered but a smaller end on the end of it. It is used on the end of a hockey stick or a Goalie stick. It is designed to change the hand grip (of the top hand) on any hockey stick.
This Hockey Stick Adaptor Plug inserts into the top of hollow hockey sticks.
This Hockey Stick Adaptor Plug allows the player to grip the hockey stick, as one normally would, but the top end of the hockey stick is changed. This change would be that the top hands' small finger (or pinky) would have a smaller size area to grip and hold onto.
Hollow hockey sticks mean all sticks that have a hollow core. For example:
wooden hockey sticks are not 'hollow.' For example: Composite, Carbon Fibre and aluminum sticks are 'hollow.' They have a hollow core. These sticks can receive end plugs.
This Hockey Stick Adaptor Plug glues into the end of the hockey stick and stays there permanently to change the top end of the hockey stick.
There are 3 different size aspects to this Adaptor Plug. The first part (or first third) inserts into the top end of the hockey stick or goalie stick and can be glued into the 'hollow' hockey stick. The second part (or middle section) has the exact same size and dimensions as the shaft of the hockey stick. The third part (or end section) has a smaller size (roughly ~ the size of the middle section) that is gripped by the small(pinky) finger. The intent of this Adaptor plug is to let the top hand small finger (or pinky) grip a smaller area of the hockey stick.

Re: Filing Certificate, Application No. 3,102,728 Claims Claim 1) This Hockey Stick Adaptor Plug inserts into the top end of the hockey stick or goalie stick much like a hockey stick extension plug. This Adaptor Plug will only go into 'hollow' hockey sticks. For example:
hockey sticks that are made of composite material, carbon fibre and aluminum have hollow cores;
wooden sticks do not.
Claim 2) This Adaptor Plug is designed to change the end of the hockey stick and goalie stick. Traditional hockey sticks have the same size gripping area throughout the hockey stick.
Therefore, the end of the stick does not change.
Claim 3) This Hockey Stick Adaptor Plug is designed so the small (pinky) finger has a smaller area to grip.
Traditional hockey sticks all have the same size of shaft from the blade to the top of the hockey stick.
Claim 4) This Hockey Stick Adaptor Plug claims to allow the player to better utilize the hockey stick for stickhandling, passing, shooting and checking.
Claim 5) By gripping the top end of the hockey stick with this new grip, the top hand on the hockey stick can move more freely and with less resistance. It will be easier to grip the top of the hockey stick as the small finger(pinky) can grip a smaller area of the hockey shaft.
Claim 6) The Hockey Stick Adaptor Plug will be glued into the end of the stick in the same fashion a regular hockey stick extension plug does.
Claim 7) Hockey is a game played with hockey sticks. Players hold the hockey stick with both hands and pass a puck(or ball) to each other. They stickhandle The puck (move the puck back and forth with the stick) to get around the opposing players and team. They use the stick to hit the puck(or ball) into the other teams net. The players use their stick to 'check' the other player or try to get the puck from them.
This Hockey Stick Adaptor Plug will change the end of the traditional hockey stick. The top hand on the stick will have an easier time gripping the top of the stick. It will make shooting the puck easier as the top hand moves more freely. It will also allow for better control of the hockey stick.
