Abstract

L'invention concerne des procédés d'identification d'animaux qui sont génétiquement supérieurs, des médicaments, des stratégies nutritionnelles, ou des manipulations physiologiques qui améliorent l'efficacité d'alimentation ou la productivité d'animaux, par exemple, la sélection d'animaux qui sont génétiquement supérieurs pour une efficacité ou une productivité d'alimentation en fonction des taux métaboliques de tissus particuliers, les taux métaboliques de certains tissus tels que le muscle squelettique étant inversement proportionnels à l'efficacité de l'alimentation, tandis que les taux métaboliques d'autres tissus tels que la glande mammaire sont directement proportionnels à la production de lait.
