Abstract
A food cutting utensil particularly adapted for cutting, preferably, a fruit or vegetable having a substantially hard skin. The food cutting utensil comprises a first and a second knife element each including a handle portion and a blade portion extending longitudinally distally from one end of the handle portion and terminating in a pointed end. The first and second knife elements are each pivotally connected to one another via a pivot pin element extending transversally through their respective pointed end. When both knife elements are longitudinally parallel relative to one another, their cooperatively pointed ends may be penetrated into the fruit or vegetable to be cut, followed with pivoting at least one of the knife elements relative to the other so as to cut the fruit or vegetable.
