Abstract

La présente invention concerne un dispositif d'insertion de LIO qui facilite l'injection de la LIO de manière contrôlée. Le dispositif d'insertion comprend une partie modulaire avant (202) et un injecteur (102). La partie modulaire peut être préchargée d'une LIO et accouplée à l'injecteur. L'injecteur comprend une partie distale, un corps et un piston plongeur. La partie distale comprend un joint avant (116) qui présente un alésage longitudinal (118) au centre, que traverse une partie distale du piston plongeur. La pointe de piston plongeur est conique. Le piston plongeur comprend également un élément d'étanchéité situé entre sa partie distale et sa partie proximale. L'élément d'étanchéité comprend une petite ouverture que traverse un fluide, tel qu'une solution saline équilibrée ("BSS") ou visco-élastique et autres, en direction de l'extrémité proximale du corps lorsque le piston plongeur avance sur le plan distal. Lorsque le fluide traverse la petite ouverture sur l'élément d'étanchéité sur le piston plongeur, une vitesse et une force constantes sont maintenues lorsque la LIO est éjectée dans l'il.
