Abstract

Provided are a computer-implemented method and device for managing online funds in an electronic transaction, the method comprising: a first participant receives notification that part of funds in an account is frozen by a second participant, the notification including an amount limit of funds for freezing in an electronic certificate; the first participant delivers request for depositing extra funds into the account to a first funds-management server, wherein the account is issued for freezing the amount of funds in the certificate; the first funds-management server checks whether the amount of funds in the account is more than the amount limit of funds for freezing in the certificate, if so, freezing the amount; a third participant receives the certificate with the updated amount limit of funds sent by a second funds-management server; and wherein the first and second funds-management servers are account-management servers for the first and third participants, respectively.
