Abstract

Major League Baseball (MLB) scores are incorporated into a skills based blackjack style Internet game where the goal is for a player to pick MLB
baseball teams whose total scores will sum to 21.

Specification Description The general character of this invention relates to new game called Baseball Blackjack where the goal is to pick MLB baseball teams with the goal of obtaining a total score of 21 (sum of scores of all teams selected) for each gaming period (typically 24 hrs).
Points are awarded based on the number of teams picked and the proximity of the players total score to 21.
There is no known game, to my knowledge, that reflects the rules, points system, integration with real time sporting events that I have described herein.
Rules of the game:
1. A player shall select between 1 and 10 MLB teams from a list made available on my website or other medium.

2. Players will be shown the team name, game start time, starting pitcher, and starting pitchers ERA (Earned Run Average).
3. Players have the option to pay for a Reveal. Reveals will show the following additional information regarding the MLB game:
O Team Bullpen ERA(Earned Run Average).
O Team Average # of runs scored per game.
4. Players have the option to pay for a Wildcard. This card can be used to replace an actual score with a wildcard that will allow the total points to equal 21.
5. The players selected teams will be recorded and stored in a database table or other medium.
6. Players have an option to purchase a wild card. Wild cards can replace any actual score result with a value between 1 and 10.
7. If a player scores more than 21 or less than 7, that is considered a bust and a points are deducted from the players point total See # 12 below)
8. Players have an option to purchase Insurance which will protect them against a bust penalty. I player who holds insurance will not lose any points.
9. Players have an option to purchase an In-Game swap where they can replace 1 team with another within 60 minutes of the start of the first game.
10.A player's selection cannot be changed once the actual sporting event begins.
11. Once MLB games are complete, the actual scores will be loaded into a database table or other medium.
12. The scores of the selected teams will be totalled and points will be awarded based on the following point system (note that points/# of teams may be changed from season to season depending on player feedback):
