Abstract
A reusable moist radiant heat collar pack for muscle pain, tension and relaxation. Allows moist deep heat to permeate and penetrate into the sternocleidomastoideus (neck muscle), trapezius (upper back muscle), pectoralis major (upper chest muscle) and splenius capitis (lower rear head/neck muscle) using radiant heat performing pain relief and relaxation simultaneously and making manipulation therapy (massage) more effective.
Description
Comfort Collar Heat Pack Description Description/Constitution:
The pack consists of: an outer layer made of 100% cotton flannel (2). The collar is formed from channels (1) that are filled with 100% whole grain oats(3) which store heat which is then radiated to the body parts. The unique design allows the collar to remain draped in place and can be worn sitting, standing or with light movement (walking). The collar pack is heated on high in a microwave for 2.5-3 minutes (longer heat time is not recommended) which can be repeated as often as required.

Claims
Comfort Collar Heat Pack Claims Claims:
.cndot. Reusable collar for muscle pain and tension is performed by the radiation of moist heat to the neck, shoulders and upper back with a localized approach.
.cndot. No electricity required.
.cndot. Non medicinal approach to muscle and joint pain (over exertion or DOMS-delayed onset muscle soreness, muscle knots or trigger points. Osteoarthritis, neuropathic, postural strain, fibromyalgia, rheumatic diseases, herniated discs).
.cndot. How heat works:
.cndot. Has an analgesic affect (neurological) by stimulating sensory receptors to block pain signals.
.cndot. Penetrates tissue and cells speeding up the biochemistry with the cells by increasing blood flow, bringing more nutrients to the cell and flushing out debris.
.cndot. Has a psychological affect since the brain interprets warmth as reassurance and safety which in turns dials down the tension.
.cndot. Heat leads to relaxation and relaxation reduces resting muscle tone since muscles that are clenched and exhausted cause discomfort and pain.
.cndot. Thixotropy affect (thinning out body fluids in connective tissues) which leads to more pliable and elastic tissue. In turn further manipulation (massage) is more effective.
.cndot. The competition: Over the counter (OTC) pain medication can be safe in moderation but there are many known and unknown problems.
.cndot. Acetominophen: easy to take too much which leads to liver damage.
.cndot. NSAIDS: can cause heart attacks, strokes and irritate the GI
(burning gut).
.cndot. Aspirin: highly irritating to the GI track References:
