L'invention concerne des métabolites antimicrobiens sécrétés par diverses espèces bactériennes et/ou fongiques, qui ont une activité antibactérienne contre des espèces de Xanthomonas, qui provoquent une maladie chez des plantes hôtes, y compris de diverses cultures. Les espèces bactériennes et fongiques produisant de tels métabolites ont été identifiées à partir d'échantillons environnementaux (semences, différents organes végétaux, et terre) provenant de différents emplacements géographiques. L'invention concerne également des compositions, des procédés, des utilisations et des kits 5 se rapportant aux métabolites antimicrobiens identifiés.
