Abstract

Padlocks are commonly used to lock gates and other devices, and are typically subject to breakage by force or tampering. This innovation removes the padlock from compromise and protects it within an enclosure, using the padlock to control a more robust locking bolt.

Description

Description The invention is a protective enclosure to receive a padlock of varying forms, the shackle of which in the locked position obstructs a bolt or similar sliding member until the shackle is unlocked and rotated. The enclosure is fitted with a sliding lid that is retained until the sliding member is extended outwards in the opposite direction to the unlock position.

Claims

Claim The specific innovation claimed is the positioning of the padlock within the protective enclosure in such a manner that the padlock shackle obstructs the sliding bolt until the padlock is unlocked and the shackle rotated out of the obstructing position.
