Abstract

A first embodiment of the invention compromise a method to identify seismic wave attenuation, phase distortion and other imperfection in seismic data caused by geophone physical property limitations, and using a mathematic module to retrofit the field data or processed data, in order to restore the seismic information to a level that is equivalent to seismic acquisition result with wide bandwidth high resolution geophones. The retrofit can be performed on original field data, individual shot data, before stacking, or after stacking migration data.
PROCESS DESCRIPTION
Receive seismic data, seismic parameters, processing information.
Identify geophones utilized for the seismic survey, and apply the proper retrofit mathematic module.
Process and retrofit the seismic data to achieve wide band high resolution geophone results.
