Abstract
La présente invention concerne un rail qui présente des fluctuations réduites de dureté mesurée dans la direction de la longueur du rail et assure également une excellente résistance à l'usure. Elle concerne un rail dont la composition chimique comprend 0,60 à 1,0 % de C, 0,1 à 1,5 % de Si, 0,01 à 1,5 % de Mn, 0 035 % ou moins de P, 0,030 % ou moins de S, 0,1 à 2,0 % de Cr, le reste étant constitué de Fe et d'impuretés inévitables, les fluctuations de dureté de surface du rail mesurée dans la direction de la longueur du rail se situant dans la plage de ± HB 15 points ou moins.
