Abstract
The general purpose of the present invention is to provide a new colostomy upgraded bag, where cleaning and venting is made simple and easy, which generally improves on many of the disadvantage of the ostomy devices mentioned. To attain this the present invention generally comprise of an colostomy bag which has a new closeable opening at the top, made in the same manner as the bottom drainage opening, and can be made and close in the same manner as the bottom opening. Whereby the contents of the colostomy bag can be easily flushed clean, the venting of gas, made easy and effective in it operable or just about any position without been removed from user.
The design takes into consideration the need of the person: to be able to thoroughly air out the bag without any leaks, giving the option of effectively cleaning the bag at any time or at any angle without the use of any specialized equipment ; can be done while laying or in just about any position while still in use. This is a upgrade to the old design where the cleaning and venting problems have been address with ease of use for the user in mind, with consideration for the healthcare professional and caregivers, whose duties sometimes it is to clean and change these bags. Also taken into consideration is ease of production making it easy to incorporate into the old design which makes it economical to manufacture.

UPGRADE COLOSTOMY, OSTOMY BAG
Field of Invention [001] The present invention relates to the ostomy device and more particularly to a colostomy bag having an upgrade which provides a simple, effective and hygienic system for cleaning and venting colostomy pouch Background of invention
[002] Colostomy is a surgical procedure that connects a patient's colon to a surgical port call a stoma, formed in the abdominal wall. Certain diseases of the bowel and colon may involve removing parts of small and /or large intestine. Having undergone a colostomy the patient need to wear a bag or pouch over the stoma to receive the bio waste and gas discharged through the stoma, there are various methods of keeping the bag in position
[003] An individual who has had a colostomy, may typically empty and vent the colostomy bag several times a day and must clean at least every other day to maintain good health and sanitation.

[004] One of the inconveniences that arise in use of such device is the accumulation of gas within the pouch which inflates in a manner that may cause leakage, this in most cases is unpleasant and unsanitary for the user and those close by. Various vents have been proposed and patented for pouches, usually with some form of air filter of one type or another with many different chemical composite. Automatic valve have experienced substantial difficulty, filters sometimes leaks fluid. The problem of effectively cleaning these pouches has become increasingly urgent; these difficulties have been overcome with this upgrade. Conventionally there has been no easy or sanitary way to clean or irrigate the pouch. Thus there is a need for the present upgrade which provides a simple, effective and hygienic system for cleaning and venting colostomy pouch.
[005] Elaborate cleaning system: included in numerous patents, however not many of these prior arts efforts are convenient or effective in use. Some pouch flusher comprise of elongated wand having a fluid inlet and discharge ports adjacent to the inlet end. An apparatus for washing body waste bags, the device includes a diverter valve having an internally threaded spout to attach to a faucet. The diverter valve has a plunger, and a reduced size nipple adapted to be received in a small opening in a body waste bag.
When the faucet is turned on, and the plunger is in an open position, the water from the facet flows normally through the diverter valve for regular use into the bag to wash it.

[006]Other cleaning system has manifold, very complicated system which requires elaborate and difficult operation for cleaning which is not very user friendly. There are some that incorporate mechanism and have separate storage chambers, very cumbersome and does not provide for easy simple cleaning of bags. Some systems need rods insert up through the bottom of the bag very awkward and ineffective. There are systems where the bag needs to be removed from the user... In actual practice, however, these prior arts of filtered vents and cleaning systems have experience substantial difficulty and lack of success.
[007] Accordingly, users of these device continue to experience the basic underling difficulty and associated problems, giving rise to a continuing need for an ostomy pouch having a truly simply, reliable and effective cleaning, venting system.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
[008] The general purpose of the present invention is to update the ostomy bag providing a feature for easy degasing and cleaning of said bag, while in use, giving the user much more control and freedom to clean or vent the bag. This generally improves on many of the disadvantages of the ostomy devices mention above. The users will have, some control they once had over their bodily functions, this principal objective is achieved by the present invention. By the creation of opening at the top of the pouch, similar to the drainage opening at bottom, which can be open and close in the same manner to facilitate easy cleaning and degasing of the colostomy bag and simultaneously giving knowledge to the user, healthcare professional and caregiver, that they now have an effective and easy way to clean and control the waste, a system that works for their best interest and wellbeing in the form of cleanliness.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
[009] The drawing is a view of the upgraded colostomy bag 1 in its operational position featuring the new opening 4 which allow for easy venting of gas and cleaning of the bag. This new opening 4 can be formed in the same manner as the bottom opening however does not need to be as large, and can be open and close in the same fashion as the bottom drainage opening 3. This gives the user, healthcare professional, and caregivers a simple and easy access to vent and flush the bag 1 thoroughly while still attach 2 to the user.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
[0010] The present invention is an upgrade to the ostomy bag 1; a top opening 4 which provide the means for the cleaning and venting of the bag 1, whereby cleaning can take place while the bag is still attach 2 to the user, and can be done quickly, easily and very effectively on regular bases during use without the need for any specialize attachment or equipment.
[0011] Therefore it is the object of this invention to provide improve elements and features thereof for the purpose described, which is inexpensive, dependable and easy and fully effective to use in accomplishing its intended purposes.
[0012]The ostomy bag 1 or pouch can be made of any material, preferably those used in the ostomy industry. Which is generally made of a soft plastic material, whereby the grade of plastic used to make the bag typically meets several criteria such as impermeability, mechanical and seam strength, gas/odor barrier protection and so forth.
The ostomy bag maybe any type of ostomy bag such as colostomy or ileostomy bag.
