Selon l'invention, un polymorphisme de K13-propeller est un marqueur moléculaire utile pour suivre l'émergence et la propagation de P. falciparum résistant à l'artémisinine (ART). La présente invention concerne des méthodes, des compositions et des kits de détection et de génotypage de Plasmodium, par exemple de Plasmodium falciparum. Les méthodes, compositions et kits selon l'invention peuvent servir à détecter la présence ou l'absence d'une protéine ou d'un acide nucléique de K-13 propeller mutant dans un échantillon.
