Abstract
L'invention porte sur un appareil et sur un procédé pour éliminer des espèces contaminantes de l'eau par électrocoagulation. Des électrodes circulaires planes rotatives mises à la terre en alternance et des électrodes planes stationnaires fonctionnent comme une pompe à fluide de type Tesla lorsqu'elles sont placées en contact avec l'eau contaminée, amenant l'eau à s'écouler entre les électrodes rotatives et stationnaires. Une matière abrasive insoluble introduite dans l'eau élimine le tartre des électrodes tandis que l'eau est ainsi pompée. Un courant électrique continu est amené à s'écouler entre chaque paire d'électrodes rotatives et stationnaires, produisant ainsi une électrocoagulation des contaminants dans l'eau s'écoulant entre celles-ci. On peut séparer les matières électrocoagulées de l'eau traitée par filtration de l'eau traitée ou par le repos de l'eau traitée pendant une période de temps choisie.
